Chapter 1680: 1680. Will you co back?

At that mont, she hadn’t considered Adam Jones at all.

Adam stood up beside her, unable to hide the irony in his smile: “I never thought that one day, I would actually lose to a woman.”

He had foolishly believed he was more important than Helen lendy.

Ha!

“Adam…”

Seeing him leave, Elly Campbell felt a sudden panic in her heart, and instinctively reached out to him.

But just as her fingertips touched the back of his hand, he brushed it away.

Adam Jones left, leaving Elly sitting alone in the living room, staring blankly at the floor.

Until a young voice, filled with unease and concern, sounded in her ear, “Mommy.”

It was William Campbell.

Elly snapped back to reality, only then realizing her cheeks were damp.

She quickly wiped away the traces of tears from her face and pulled William into her arms with a forced smile, saying:

“What’s wrong, baby?”

Five-year-old William was already a bit taller, and his features had grown more handso.

“Did you and Daddy have a fight?”

Elly was taken aback, then shook her head and said, “No, Mommy wouldn’t fight with Daddy.”

“But just now, I heard Daddy talking very loudly to you, Daddy was an, Daddy’s bad.”

Looking at her son, who stood by her so unwaveringly without knowing anything, Elly felt both guilty and heartbroken.

Her eyes also beca moist.

Forcing back her tears, she held William close, speaking softly:

“Daddy’s not bad, Daddy loves Mommy the most. It’s because Mommy did sothing wrong that made Daddy upset.”

William seed to sowhat understand, but one thing was for sure: in his heart, Mommy was the best mommy in the world, even if she made mistakes, she was still the best mommy.

A mommy who makes mistakes is still worthy of forgiveness; Daddy shouldn’t be so an to Mommy.

“The teacher says that knowing your mistakes and correcting them makes you a good child. Even if Mommy did sothing wrong, if she corrects it, everything will be okay. No matter what mistakes Mommy makes, William will always love Mommy the most.”

With these words, the tears welling up in Elly’s eyes spilled over.

Seeing Mommy cry, William felt both distressed and anxious, using his little hands to wipe away the traces of tears on Elly’s face, softly comforting her:

“Mommy, don’t cry. It’s okay if you don’t want to correct your mistakes, William also loves a Mommy who makes mistakes.”

Saying this, he paused and then added: “Daddy also loves a Mommy who makes mistakes. Maybe he’s just a little bit angry. Mommy, don’t be upset.”

Elly nodded repeatedly, her son’s warm-hearted yet innocent and sincere words filling her with deep emotions, adding to her feelings of guilt.

From the ti he was little, she always felt she owed him.

Yet in his heart, he always loved this selfish and inadequate Mommy.

The world of a child is clean and pure, but her decisions have deeply hurt this purity and cleanliness.

“Baby, Mommy also loves you and Daddy. But… but if one day, Mommy leaves you, will you bla her?”

Upon hearing this, Elly saw William furrow his brow, but he still shook his head and said:

“No, because Mommy will co back soon anyway.”

The innocence in William’s eyes was overflowing.

Will she co back?

Uncertainty clouded Elly’s eyes.

She didn’t know if she could co back, or if one day she might die and not even get to see her child one last ti.

The word “death” was too heavy, and she couldn’t bear to let such a young child take on this burden.
