Chapter 1649: 1649. Speak human language
On the other end of the phone ca Leo Hall’s joyful voice, laced with a tinge of a pleasantly deep laugh.
“Do you need sothing from ?”
She wasn’t particularly familiar with Leo Hall, but because he once risked his life to save her, she felt grateful no matter what his motives might have been.
Yet she always remained wary of him, never expecting him to ask for any kind of repaynt.
Later, when the Hall Clan completely fell into Harry Hall’s hands, leaving him and his mother with nothing, she thought he would eventually ask her for help. But in the end, he suddenly disappeared from everyone’s sight.
He didn’t co looking for her, nor did he seek out those business moguls who had excellent relations with William Hall in the past.
With a wave of his sleeve, he didn’t even take a cloud with him.
Elly Campbell even felt guilty at tis, thinking she misunderstood this young man who once risked his life for her, this boy who seed both pure and sly, perhaps wasn’t as manipulative as she had thought.
Just like he once told her, he genuinely wasn’t interested in the Hall Clan.
Now, when he suddenly called, she didn’t instinctively reject it like before.
“I was missing my sister-in-law and thought I’d check on you.”
Leo Hall’s low chuckle ca through the phone once more.
Elly Campbell frowned, and said sternly, “Speak properly.”
The laughter on the other end abruptly stopped.
After a mont of silence, Leo Hall said:
“How’s your health recently, sister-in-law? I heard you’ve been getting checkups all the ti lately.”
Elly Campbell had been sensitive about her health condition lately.
Normally, when people asked how she was, it was just a polite gesture, but now it was different.
Especially since it was soone she hadn’t heard from in a while, asking her this first thing and knowing she’d been having checkups—it made her think more.
Her gaze suddenly sharpened, and a flash of severity crossed her eyes, “What do you know?”
“Co down, and I’ll tell you.”
She thought Leo Hall would deny it, yet he admitted it so straightforwardly, causing Elly Campbell’s eyes to darken as she moved toward the window.
“You’re downstairs?”
“I’m in your underground garage.”
Leo Hall’s tone was sowhat annoying.
Elly’s previous guilt for misunderstanding Leo Hall vanished completely because of this.
She didn’t go down imdiately, and asked again, “Is Chloe Turner also your person?”
Even though Chloe Turner had been cleared of any issues, she still didn’t fully trust the girl.
Leo Hall didn’t answer, instead repeating his earlier words, “Co down and I’ll tell you.”
“You…”
Elly Campbell felt Leo Hall was certainly up to sothing. If it was money he wanted, that would be one thing, but she didn’t think Leo Hall was after such material things.
“I’ll be right down.”
Hanging up the phone, Elly Campbell left her office, told her secretary where she was going, and headed to the basent.
When Elly Campbell reached the basent, she imdiately spotted the eye-catching orange Ferrari with its top down, parked right in the center of the garage.
Leo Hall’s face was already highly alluring. Now, with sunglasses perched on his high nose, sitting in such an eye-catching spot with an expensive luxury car, naturally drew all attention to him.
Elly Campbell suppressed the impatience in her heart and quickly walked forward.
Leo Hall waved at her, as if they were old friends reuniting after a long ti.
