Capítulo 1629: 1629. I am jealous
The doctor spoke briefly with Elly Campbell, then left.
Elly Campbell tucked in Johnson Fefferman, ensuring that her flushed face was gradually soothing, which made her feel sowhat relieved. She opened the door and walked out.
“Elly.”
Adam Jones had been waiting outside the door and hadn’t left. When he saw her co out, he imdiately approached her, his usual composed expression marked by visible tension and unease.
“Johnson Fefferman is fine now, but the IV needs to stay on all night.”
Elly Campbell remarked.
Adam Jones nodded and didn’t ask much about Johnson Fefferman’s condition; instead, he anxiously stared at Elly Campbell’s face, hesitating to speak several tis but not daring to say a word.
Elly Campbell looked up, eyed him twice, and spoke irritably, “Why are you staring at like that?”
Adam Jones pursed his thin lips and explained, “Elly, what you saw when you ca in, it’s not what you think.”
“Oh? What do you think I was thinking?”
Elly Campbell retorted.
Adam Jones was montarily speechless.
“When I left work, Johnson Fefferman called for help…”
He explained the entire situation to Elly Campbell, not daring to miss any details.
“Oh? You even held her.”
Elly Campbell spoke in a flat tone.
Adam Jones felt a chill on his scalp and quickly explained:
“The situation at that ti was quite special, she was walking too slowly, and I wanted to get her to the hospital as soon as possible, so…”
Elly Campbell nodded but said nothing.
“Elly, trust , just now Johnson Fefferman… I didn’t even have ti to react.”
Seeing Elly Campbell looking only at the distance without speaking or even glancing his way, he beca increasingly anxious.
“Elly?”
He reached out, gently tugged at Elly Campbell’s hem, a bit cautiously.
“Elly, don’t stay silent, you can scold or hit , but please don’t stay silent.”
He had worked incredibly hard to win his wife’s heart back, and if she were to leave due to such a ridiculous misunderstanding, he would feel terribly wronged.
Elly Campbell glanced at him coldly, “What should I say?”
“Say anything.”
Adam Jones replied in a low voice.
Elly Campbell rely snorted coldly and said nothing.
Just as Adam Jones thought Elly wouldn’t bother with him and felt extrely apprehensive and disappointed, Elly suddenly said, “I’m jealous.”
Adam Jones was stunned, then his face showed traces of joy.
Her saying this directly ant she wasn’t really angry with him.
And this realization added more joy to the smile in Adam Jones’s eyes; he stepped forward and embraced her, Elly Campbell casually struggled twice but didn’t escape his hold, only snorting arrogantly twice.
Adam Jones hugged her from behind, leaned toward her ear, and whispered:
“I’m glad you’re jealous because of , but there’s really nothing between Johnson Fefferman and . She’s kind of my distant cousin and is staying at our house, she’s our guest, she’s alone in this country. If sothing happened to her at our place, I couldn’t explain it to Auntie Lisa.”
Elly Campbell snorted and said nothing.
“When she called for help, it was an ergency, I had to rescue her imdiately, and couldn’t consider anything else.”
At this point, he paused, his tone clearly becoming more tense, and his words beca more cautious.
“As for what you saw in the ward… Johnson Fefferman was drugged at that ti, she wasn’t in her right mind. She didn’t know what she was doing.”
