Chapter 1595: 1595. Suddenly fell down
After that day, Elly Campbell visited several hospitals but none could detect anything unusual with her body.
Not even any trace of anesthetic remained that day, so Elly didn’t dwell on the unusual circumstances in Chief Wood’s office.
After receiving her dical report, she was even more convinced that she was just seeing things that day.
She put away the dical report, tucked it into her bag, and walked toward the parking lot. As she was approaching, her foot suddenly stiffened and wouldn’t move.
However, her upper body, due to inertia, fell forward directly onto the ground.
Her hand scraped a thin layer of skin on the ground, leaving several obvious scratches, causing her to furrow her brows in pain.
Thinking about the anomaly she just experienced, her heart panicked, and she quickly moved her legs only to find she could move normally.
But the fact that she just fell is right here, it couldn’t be just an illusion, right?
She ignored the pain in her knees and palms and quickly stood up from the ground.
The fall was quite heavy, and as she stood up to walk, her knees hurt considerably.
Why did her legs suddenly lose sensation earlier?
She couldn’t tell whether it was an illusion, if she accidentally tripped, or if sothing genuinely went wrong with her legs. But it was true that her legs lost sensation, causing her to fall.
Due to Helen lendy’s poisoning incident, Elly couldn’t help but overthink things, and didn’t dare ignore any anomalies.
Not in the mood to analyze all possibilities, she turned back and headed toward the hospital building’s examination center again.
She went through all the examination procedures once more and, as the results wouldn’t co out so quickly, Elly’s heart remained in suspense,
and she appeared sowhat absent-minded all day.
“Sister-in-law, what’s wrong?”
Upon returning ho, Elly happened to encounter Johnson Fefferman, who was also returning from outside.
Her wandering thoughts were pulled back, and Elly looked at her, shook her head, and said, “Nothing.”
“You’re not looking well, did sothing happen?”
She herself was uncertain about today’s events, so naturally, she wouldn’t disclose them to Johnson. She shook her head again, casually gave a couple of perfunctory responses, and dismissed Johnson.
Earlier, her knee was injured, now it’s severely swollen, causing unbearable pain with any slight lift of her foot.
After dinner, she absent-mindedly returned to her room, and as she sat down, soone joined her.
“What’s wrong? I heard from Johnson that you seed absent-minded after coming back from work, and didn’t eat much dinner, did sothing happen?”
Adam Jones looked at her silent expression and asked worriedly.
“It’s nothing, I was thinking about Helen’s situation.”
“We’ve already planned to cooperate with Auston, right? Worrying about it now will only increase the pressure on yourself, which isn’t good.”
Adam spoke seriously as he looked at her and said,:
“I promise you, we won’t stop until the dication is developed, okay?”
Elly initially used this as an excuse with Adam, and naturally nodded along with his reasoning.
“I know rushing won’t help, don’t worry, I won’t dwell on it anymore.”
As she placated Adam, she still kept the bizarre situation from the afternoon in mind, and since she couldn’t understand what was going on, she didn’t plan to tell Adam to avoid worrying him.
