Harry Hall turned back and looked at the timid girl in the hall.
“What is it?”

Alice Baker bit her lower lip, looking at Harry Hall, her voice low, seeming a bit afraid of him yet forcing herself to muster up so courage, she began to say:
“Aunt Leanne is your mother, you can’t treat your own mother like this because of an outsider.”

anwhile, Mrs. Baker, seeing her daughter’s reddened eyes upon hearing Harry Hall’s words, felt both hurt and wronged for her, and looked at Harry defiantly, saying:
“Young Master Hall, our Alice was just trying to help, how could you speak to her like that?”
Harry Hall smiled, but the smile did not reach his eyes, “It seems this lady also enjoys ddling in others’ affairs.”
Mrs. Baker’s expression changed, intimidated by the coldness emanating from Harry Hall’s eyes.
“I can’t stop you if you like ddling in others’ affairs, but ddling in the Hall Family’s affairs is not your place.”
With that, he went straight upstairs.
Alice hadn’t expected Harry Hall could be so heartless and lacking in grace towards a girl like her, his disdain and aversion whenever he accused her of ddling played over and over in her ears, and her tears of grievance stread down.
Though it was her first ti truly eting Harry Hall, she wasn’t unfamiliar with this Young Master of the Hall Family.
