Capítulo 1581: 1581. Don’t be too greedy
Elly Campbell forced a smile as she walked over and crouched down in front of her.
“Helen.”
She called her softly, her voice tinged with a faint loneliness.
“What’s wrong?”
Helen lendy looked down at her.
Elly Campbell had never imagined that facing soone directly could require so much courage.
She buried her face in Helen lendy’s lap, and after a long while, she whispered:
“I’ve found out who poisoned you.”
She felt Helen lendy’s body slightly tense, then relaxed with a smile:
“Isn’t it good that you’ve found out? Why do you look like this?”
Elly Campbell pressed her lips together, her eyes felt a bit sore.
She lifted her gaze to Helen lendy, mustering all her courage as she spoke:
“It was Shirley.”
Helen lendy’s expression changed, her disbelief evident as she repeated: “Shirley?”
Though she wasn’t familiar with Shirley, lately Shirley had been taking care of her diligently, without the slightest neglect.
“Shirley’s son was bribed, and he poisoned the massage oil Shirley used on you.”
Elly Campbell’s voice trembled slightly, her eyes remorsefully watching Helen lendy.
Seeing Helen lendy silent and calm, Elly Campbell knew that her calmness was only superficial.
“I’m sorry, Helen.”
Elly Campbell apologized; beyond finding the person responsible, she didn’t know what else she could do.
She didn’t even know if Helen would forgive her.
Looking at Helen’s silent deanor, Elly Campbell’s heart twisted with unease, fear, and the dread of losing her.
She dared not even et Helen’s eyes.
“I don’t ask for your forgiveness, but can you give a chance to make ands?”
And yet, Helen lendy remained silent, and Elly’s apprehension grew more intense.
After a long ti, Helen lendy finally laughed.
She looked up at her, eting her gaze with a smile.
Helen said:
“Your words sound like those of a boyfriend begging for forgiveness.”
Her tone was light-hearted, devoid of any complaints, yet Elly Campbell couldn’t feel relieved.
Her head was gently poked by Helen lendy, who said:
“You, what are you thinking? This has nothing to do with you. People wanting to harm will always find a way, defenses can’t stop them.”
Her tone was free of bla and complaint, she even comforted her, moving Elly Campbell to tears and warming her eyes.
“Without you, I might not even have had a chance to wake up.”
Helen gently stroked Elly’s hair, like an older sister comforting her:
“Isn’t everything good now? People shouldn’t be too greedy; it’s a miracle that a comatose patient can wake up, why wish for more?”
Her state of mind was exceptionally calm.
Initially, it was hard to accept, but since misfortune had befallen her, accepting it calmly was far better than lanting.
Elly Campbell felt Helen lendy’s words were ant to comfort her, making her feel even more guilty.
“But originally… you didn’t need to bear this.”
Elly Campbell’s voice was hoarse from choking up for so long.
“You can never predict these things, you should stop dwelling on it.”
Helen lendy patted her head, saying, “Besides, even if sister can’t walk, I still have skills to survive. Why be worried about losing these feet as if the sky would fall?”
Elly Campbell remained silent.
