Leanne Richards didn’t want to get into a verbal spar with Helen lendy. As a noblewoman from a wealthy family, how could she compete with soone of a lower class who lives by their wits?
Helen lendy had seen plenty of lodramatic soap operas where the rich young man’s mother cos to confront the Cinderella, often throwing five million her way to make her leave her son.
Although Leanne hadn’t stated it directly, Helen could guess as much from Leanne’s disdainful attitude towards her.
She just wondered if this Mrs. Hall would throw her five million to leave her son?
If she did, would she take it, take it, or take it?
After so random thoughts crossed Helen’s mind, she smiled at the imperious Leanne in front of her and said:
"I’ve guessed so of it. Mrs. Hall, why don’t you tell to see if it matches my guess."
"You..."
Leanne thought about it and decided not to waste words with Helen.
Her foolish son was just a love-struck fool. So many years had passed, and he still hadn’t let go of this "Fox Spirit."
Even now, though she’s crippled, he will not leave her alone.
The imdiate task was to get this woman to leave her son willingly.
Marrying a cripple into the family was not sothing her son minded, but it was sothing she couldn’t bear.
Without further ado, Leanne directly asked:
"Helen lendy, at this point, there’s no need for us to beat around the bush."
She walked to a single sofa in front of Helen, sat down, lazily leaned back, and looked at Helen with a condescending gaze, trying to act imposing.
Although Helen found this posturing sowhat laughable, she nodded along, waiting for Leanne to continue.
"There’s a question I’ve never asked you, and now you can answer properly."
Helen still nodded with a gentle smile, "Alright, go ahead."
Leanne wasn’t used to Helen’s gentle deanor, especially watching her smile at her, which only beca more irritating with ti.
"I just want to ask, what makes you think you are worthy of my son?"
Helen was montarily stunned by the question.
She couldn’t rember if she had ever thought about this in the years she was with Harry Hall.
But at this mont, even after waking up to this day, she had never thought about it.
It wasn’t that she felt she deserved the title of Harry Hall’s fiancée with peace of mind.
Rather, she had never truly accepted or adapted to this identity, which is why she never pondered this aningless question to her.
Now, being asked so directly by Leanne, she found it easier to follow her heart and answer:
"Nothing."
At this mont, her feelings for Harry Hall were not deep, so when considering matters of their relationship, she remained rational.
Indeed, she had nothing to make her worthy of Harry Hall.
In terms of beauty or education, there were many won around Harry who were her equals, and as for her family background, she didn’t even have the qualifications to be compared.
Leanne was dumbfounded by her straightforward answer.
But because she didn’t yet know that Helen lendy had lost nine years of mory, and due to her longstanding prejudice, Leanne felt that Helen’s answer was not sincere; in fact, she saw such an answer as a provocation.
