"Helen, did you hear what the doctor said? You just need a few more days of rest, and you can be discharged."
A large hand gently stroked her soft, smooth long hair.
Even while she was in a coma for a long ti, the caregiver Shirley, whom Elly Campbell brought in, took good care of her.
Every day, she would wash her body and wash her hair twice a week.
So, even though Helen lendy just woke up, she didn’t have the sticky feeling that cos from lying in bed for a long ti.
Harry Hall saw the confusion on Helen lendy’s face and felt a bit worried, "Helen, what’s wrong?"
Only then did he notice that since Helen lendy woke up, she had been silent. Her gaze at him was not unfamiliar, yet there was no natural closeness, instead... instead, it was sowhat uneasy.
Harry Hall’s heart ached suddenly.
Why did Helen look at him with unease besides confusion? Why would she feel uneasy?
"Helen?"
Suppressing his uneasiness, he looked at the silent Helen lendy and called out again.
After a long while, he finally heard Helen lendy’s low voice, holding so uncertainty as she called out, "Senior Hall?"
Harry Hall’s heart shattered in that instant when Helen lendy called him "Senior Hall."
His face, usually not expressive, was clearly shaken at this mont. After a long ti, he barely found his voice, "Helen, what did you call ?"
If it were in the past, he might have thought she called him that for fun, but at this mont, her behavior clearly wasn’t joking, but rather... genuinely calling him Senior Hall.
After calling him that, her gaze at him still carried so unease, even... embarrassnt and awkwardness.
"Senior Hall?"
Seeing him question like this, Helen lendy carefully repeated.
Seeing Harry Hall’s face look a bit off, her voice softened, as if he didn’t like her calling him that?
But... isn’t that what everyone calls him?
After she repeated the call, Harry Hall’s eyes visibly darkened with what seed like sadness.
The smile that had just been restrained on his face faded even more at that mont.
After a mont, Harry Hall spoke again:
"You’re just waking up and still very weak, lie down and rest for a while, I’ll call Elly Campbell and tell her you’re awake."
He raised his hand, gently lifting it to pat her head, but saw Helen lendy instinctively avoid it, seemingly not expecting Harry Hall to make such a gesture, with surprise and disbelief flashing in her eyes.
Only then did she rember that when she had just woken up, Harry Hall often made such intimate gestures towards her, but at that ti she was still in a state of confusion, and the unusual gentleness and affection in the eyes of this usually cold man when she first opened her eyes had stunned her into forgetting how to think.
So it was at this mont that realization dawned on her.
Harry Hall’s hand, which hadn’t yet touched her head, hung awkwardly in the air because of Helen lendy’s instinctive avoidance, a flash of surprise once again crossing his eyes.
After a mont’s pause, he seed to sigh softly, his hand finally landing gently on top of her head, speaking hoarsely:
"Rest well."
He was about to get up and leave when he heard Helen lendy’s confused voice say:
"Elly Campbell?"
She pondered for a mont, then looked at Harry Hall and asked: "The Elly Campbell from the dical departnt?"
