With such a straightforward request, Sophia Taylor thought Elly Campbell would surely agree without hesitation.

Sophia tried to call after Elly, but Elly didn’t even glance back, pulling Adam Jones along as they left.

Reflecting on her contrasting attitude toward Sophia, he asked curiously:
“What did that outreach worker do to piss you off?”
Elly shook her head. “It’s nothing—I just don’t like her.”
Soone like Sophia Taylor didn’t even qualify for her to complain about to her island master.
Adam smirked faintly and didn’t press further, instead comnting:
“Why do I get the feeling you deliberately ca to find for lunch because you knew she was coming after ?”
“Exactly.”
Elly shrugged and made no effort to hide it, replying:
“Your sister texted , saying she wants to make a move on you. I was worried that if you ended up falling for her charms, I’d be left as an abandoned wife. Unacceptable.”
She spoke with a self-righteous flair. Adam chuckled and raised his hand to playfully ss up her hair.
“Is your confidence in your husband’s taste really that low?”
Elly lounged against the seat back, arms folded behind her head, and said leisurely, “Different strokes for different folks. Eat enough at and fish, and sotis you’ll crave a bowl of plain porridge.”
“Well, tough luck—I’ve got picky tastes and happen to only like at.”
Elly: “…”
She regretted engaging in this kind of talk with this man. No matter how seriously she started, he always managed to turn the conversation into sothing suggestive.
“If you don’t like people like her, just ignore her. Don’t let her ruin your mood.”
Adam, unwilling to dwell on discussions about other won with his wife, steered the conversation away proactively.
