He deliberately emphasized "wife" and "lifesaving benefactor," as if pointedly reminding Ethan not to overthink.
Ethan’s eyelids lifted faintly, his gaze directed at Adam. The corners of his lips tugged into a faint, ambiguous smile, laced with an understated provocation.
