Chapter 1198: 1198. Handling of Fraudsters

Elly’s gaze quietly rested on her, not taking the item she was offering.

Ivy Lentz felt uneasy under Elly’s indifferent gaze and unconsciously tightened her grip on the bag she was holding.

“Mom, why are you looking at like that?”

Elly slowly withdrew her gaze, smiling as she took the item from Ivy’s hand, saying,

“It’s nothing. I’m just surprised that you’ve beco so sensible all of a sudden, even thinking to buy sothing for your mom.”

Hearing Elly say this, Ivy breathed a sigh of relief and said,

“You’re my mom; it’s only right that I respect you.”

“Yes, you are quite respectful.”

Elly looked at Ivy’s ingratiating face, and a chill slowly spread in her eyes.

Elly Campbell noticed that her mother’s look at Ivy was sowhat off and guessed that Ivy, that fool, must have done sothing shalessly foolish again.

But now was not the ti to ask, so she simply chose not to.

She only said,

“Aunt, I’ll look after Grandpa here. If you have other matters, you can take care of them first.”

“Okay.”

This ti, Elly didn’t refuse Elly Campbell’s suggestion and took her phone, walking out of the hospital room.

Ivy, unsure of what her mother was going to do, felt a bit worried, so she put down the food she was holding and hurriedly followed her out.

“Mom, you don’t look very well. Is there a problem at the company?”

Elly looked at Ivy, who had caught up, chuckled lightly, and said,

“It’s nothing serious. Soone tried to defraud my company. I’ve had soone call the police to arrest them.”

Upon hearing this, Ivy’s face turned pale, and all color drained from her face, “Fraud…? Who would dare…”

“You don’t know?”

Elly scoffed coldly, her gaze sharp as she looked at Ivy and asked with a smile.

“…how would I know? I’ve been at the hospital with you all this ti, watching over Grandpa.”

“That’s true.”

Elly nodded her head and, looking at Ivy, asked,

“So, how do you think I should deal with this fraudster?”

Ivy’s heart clenched, sensing trouble.

Knowing Elly as she did, if the so-called “fraudster” had nothing to do with her, Elly wouldn’t be asking for her opinion.

After all, she had never been involved in the company’s matters.

Could it be her father…

Ivy’s face grew even paler.

Seeing the almost mocking look on Elly’s face, Ivy stiffened and finally spoke,

“Mom, this is your company’s business. Why are you asking ?”

“It is about the company, true, but I thought since the fraudster is related to you, I might seek your opinion.”

“Related…related to ?”

Ivy’s legs went weak, now certain that Sean Lentz had been exposed.

Elly looked at Ivy’s reaction, feeling both cold-hearted and disgusted.

She didn’t beat around the bush and said directly,

“Aren’t you Sean Lentz’s daughter? Sean Lentz tried to defraud the company, trying to transfer assets under my na. Didn’t he tell you about this?”

“I…”

Ivy, stricken by Elly’s increasingly aggressive gaze, was too frightened to utter a word.

“Mom, I…I didn’t know about this.”

“Is that so?”

Elly curved her lips into a smile, “The email sent from my phone to the company executives, granting Sean Lentz full power to act on my behalf, stating Sean Lentz’s decisions are my decisions, wasn’t that done by you?”

“I…”
