Chapter 117: 117. Headache_1 Chapter 117: 117. Headache_1 In the United States back then, every ti she heard Helen ntion her ex-boyfriend, she could feel the deep sorrow in her heart, clearly aware that Helen couldn’t let go of that ex-boyfriend.

She didn’t know what exactly had happened between them, but indeed… it wasn’t sothing she, an outsider, could ddle in.

After hesitating for a mont, she nodded, “Understood.”

Seeing her agree, Adam Jones’ face finally brightened up a bit, but the next second, his expression changed again.

Elly Campbell was just opening the bedroom door to leave, seemingly guessing what she was intending to do; his face imdiately darkened, and he said displeasedly, “Where are you going in the middle of the night?”

“Going ho.”

“Elly Campbell!!”

Adam Jones spoke sternly, his tall legs already striding in front of Elly Campbell, “This is your ho, where are you going back to?”

Elly Campbell didn’t want to argue with him again about the matter of divorce as discussing it would lead nowhere; she bluntly said, “Going back to my parents’ house!”

Adam Jones was both amused and angry at her, but he was unable to do anything about it; he continued with patience, “Why go back to your parents’ house in the dead of night; go back tomorrow.”

“My family will worry about .”

Elly Campbell’s face was still stern, her voice cold and hard.

“I’ve already called and told Mom,”

The “Mom” Adam Jones referred to was naturally his mother-in-law, Jenna Clark.

This was the first ti Elly Campbell heard Adam Jones refer to Jenna Clark as “Mom.” He rarely t with Jenna, and on the occasional encounters, he only addressed her as “Madam.” Jenna was annoyed by this, but since her daughter liked him, she didn’t make it an issue.

Now, as Elly Campbell was about to divorce him, she heard Adam Jones call her “Mom.” It sounded ironic and ludicrous to Elly’s ears.

At the mont, Adam was sowhat nervous, worried that Elly Campbell would refuse to stay. Even though he always seed firm and non-negotiable, he knew that Elly Campbell was not soone who could easily compromise in front of him.

Seeing her silence and the changing expressions on her face without knowing what she was thinking, fearing that she would refuse, he added another sentence, “You can sleep in the room, I’ll go to the guest room.”

Unexpectedly, Adam Jones was willing to compromise like this. Elly Campbell glanced at him indifferently, eventually giving a deep “Mhm” and turned back into the room.

Elly Campbell lay down on the bed back in the room, the fact was, her head was still terribly painful. She hadn’t realized it during the argunt with Adam Jones, but now that she was quiet, she could feel a vein throbbing at her temple, hurting so much she couldn’t fall asleep.

Adam Jones didn’t imdiately go to the study but watched her continually frowning and rubbing her temple, thinking of sothing, and his brow furrowed.

“Headache?”

His voice was very low and deep, faintly laced with worry, causing Elly Campbell, who was rubbing her temple, to pause for a mont before murmuring a response.

Adam Jones said no more and turned to the neighboring study.

Elly Campbell didn’t pay him any attention and lay on her side, but the pain was intense, causing her temples to twitch constantly, making it impossible for her to fall asleep.

Footsteps sounded from behind; having lived here for three years since her marriage, Elly Campbell was naturally familiar with the bedroom and the study that was connected to it—it was always Adam Jones’ work area. However, after getting married, Adam Jones rarely ca back, leaving the study unoccupied.

Now, with Adam Jones moving between the bedroom and the study, Elly Campbell didn’t think much of it, assuming he was still working.
