“Mom, I’m not content with risking my reputation and life to fight, only to end up losing to Elly Campbell in the end, do you understand?”
lody Baker was stunned by Sophie’s words.
Thinking about what that servant had cursed them with before leaving.

“Mom, do you know what would happen to us if Adam learned that we were part of the sche against him back then?”

For over twenty years, despite having no official status, she had lived the life of a wealthy wife with Jas Campbell.
But she was very aware of the limits of Jas Campbell’s abilities; he couldn’t win against Adam Jones.
If they angered Adam Jones, Jas Campbell couldn’t protect them and might even bring down the entire Campbell enterprise.
Or Adam could simply hand the Campbell enterprise over to Elly Campbell, and then, they would be utterly defeated.
At her age, with no work experience and penniless, what could she do?
Could she beco a despicable servant, to be trampled upon by her employer’s dignity?
lody Baker didn’t dare to think further, just shook her head non-stop, “Right, you’re right. We can’t let him give us up; we must find a way to see him.”
She clutched Sophie’s arm and said,
“But Sophie, promise mom, don’t do anything foolish unless it’s absolutely necessary. If you kill soone, your life will be over. Have you forgotten what it feels like to be in prison?”
Sophie didn’t say anything with a somber expression on her face.
Of course, she wouldn’t kill soone so easily, and if she did kill, she wouldn’t do it herself.
“Don’t worry, mom. I’m not stupid enough to drive myself into a dead end.”
However, Sophie had no idea that before Benjamin Forest was caught, soone had already betrayed her.
After Benjamin Forest’s arrest, the Baker family desperately tried to see him.
But Benjamin Forest was a key witness in Ian Foster’s case, and orders from above were already in place that no one could see him.
