Chapter 601: Chapter 598: Stay far away from him in the future

The bullet pierced through Si Ye’s chest.

His pupils constricted dramatically, and as his body tipped toward the edge of the cliff, he reached out and directly grabbed Ming Yao.

Ming Yao and Si Ye were already at the brink of the cliff, and as Si Ye grabbed Ming Yao, she too began to fall backward.

“Yaoyao!”

Gu Siting’s face changed drastically as he lunged forward, reaching out to grab Ming Yao.

In the nick of ti, Gu Siting caught hold of Ming Yao’s wrist.

“Yaoyao, don’t be afraid, I’ll pull you up.”

Although Si Ye had been shot in the chest, his hand still held tightly onto Ming Yao’s other hand, aning Gu Siting had to bear the weight of both of them.

The situation was extrely dangerous.

Continuing like this, Gu Siting could very well be dragged down the cliff.

“Siting, let go!”

Beneath the cliff was an abyss, and no one was without fear.

Ming Yao’s legs were trembling.

Of course, Gu Siting could not possibly let go. His expression was tight, “Yaoyao, kick him off!”

Blood flowed continuously from the wound in Si Ye’s chest, and he no longer had much strength left.

Ming Yao glanced at Si Ye, whose pupils shrank slightly, “Little Yao, for old tis’ sake, spare a path to live.”

“Si Ye, you must pay for your sins!” Ming Yao closed her eyes and forcefully kicked towards Si Ye.

Si Ye was already severely injured, and with Ming Yao’s kick, he simply could not hold on. The hand clutching Ming Yao’s wrist could no longer withstand the force, and he released Ming Yao, falling into the abyss below.

After Si Ye fell down, it was much easier to handle Ming Yao alone.

With one strong pull, Gu Siting brought Ming Yao back up.

Having just experienced a brush with death, both of them were still in shock.

Gu Siting tightly embraced Ming Yao in his arms.

Ming Yao leaned on his solid, broad chest, her nose tingling slightly.

Gu Siting’s hand gently patted Ming Yao’s hair, his eyes revealing the tenderness and pity he felt for her.

Only she could deal with Si Ye so decisively amid such a critical situation.

“Yaoyao, I’m sorry you had to suffer…”

Before Gu Siting could finish his sentence, he suddenly noticed sothing was amiss—a small red dot was aid in their direction.

He squinted and swept his gaze toward the dense forest, then quickly turned around, shielding Ming Yao with his body.

A gunshot sounded, and Gu Siting’s back was hit.

Gu Siting imdiately raised his hand and fired a shot into the forest.

Soone fell to the ground in response.

Everything happened so quickly that by the ti Ming Yao realized what had occurred, she had already touched the sticky liquid on the man’s back.

She looked at her hand, now covered in crimson.

“Siting!”

Gu Siting kissed Ming Yao’s hair and said in a hoarse voice, “It’s nothing, Yaoyao, don’t be afraid, I won’t die.”

Lu Zhou arrived with his n.

“Your Excellency, it was Second Master Gong who attacked you just now; you’ve killed him with one shot,” Lu Zhou reported.

Gu Siting nodded, “Stay here and clean up the aftermath.”

Ming Yao looked at the wound on Gu Siting’s back, her lips tightly clenched, as she forced her mind to steady and then gave him ergency treatnt.

Due to the urgency of the situation, Vice President Yu Zheng brought Gu Siting back to the capital overnight.

He had been shot in the back and needed to undergo surgery imdiately. Ming Yao and the accompanying doctor removed the bullet on the plane.

Because of limited facilities on the plane, after the bullet was removed, Gu Siting remained unconscious.

Upon arriving at the capital, he was imdiately taken to the hospital.

Ming Yao sat in front of the operating room; although she knew his life wasn’t in danger, she was still overwhelmingly worried.

Her heart felt as if it was being tightly squeezed by an invisible hand, the pain so intense that she could barely breathe.

She didn’t know how long she had been sitting there when suddenly, a flurry of disordered and hurried footsteps arose.

Having received the news, Old Lady Gong and Gong Xiao hurried over.

Upon seeing Ming Yao, Old Lady Gong’s face took on an extrely unsightly expression.

Just as she was about to say sothing to Ming Yao, Gong Xiao stopped her.

“Mother, I heard from Yu Zheng that if it weren’t for Ming Yao, they wouldn’t have been able to wipe out Si Ye’s hideout so quickly!” he said in a low voice.

Old Lady Gong gave Ming Yao a cold look, “I hope that in the future, you can stay far away from Siting!”

Ming Yao kept her lips tightly sealed and did not speak.

To be honest, her mind was a complete ss at the mont, and she didn’t know how to face Gu Siting in the future.

If everything Si Ye had said was true, then she and Gu Siting were sworn enemies with deep-seated hatred!

Right now, she couldn’t think too much; she only hoped that he would wake up soon.

Over an hour later, Gu Siting was transferred to the ICU, and aside from the doctors, no one was allowed to approach.

Ming Yao stood in the corridor, watching the man being pushed inside; he looked like he was just sleeping—his features still sharply handso, unbelievably so.

Thinking of the mont he had embraced her and turned his body to block that bullet, her heart spasd with pain.

Seeing Ming Yao’s distraught appearance, Gong Xiao approached her with a heavy voice, “Miss Ming, Siting is out of life-threatening danger now. You’ve had a hard journey. You should go back and rest.”

Ming Yao was still wearing yesterday’s clothes, stained with Gu Siting’s blood; her hair was a ss draped over her shoulders, looking rather destitute.

She nodded her head and was just about to leave when Gong Yue and Luminous Pearl arrived.

Seeing Ming Yao, mother and daughter looked at her with undisguised disgust, “Disaster star.”

Ming Yao’s eyes narrowed slightly.

Seeing that Ming Yao dared to glare at her, Luminous Pearl said disdainfully, “You lowly commoner should stay away from my cousin in the future!”

“Enough, Mingzhu!” Gong Xiao said sternly.

Luminous Pearl, seeing Gong Xiao defending Ming Yao, muttered under her breath, “Uncle, you couldn’t possibly have fallen for this vixen too, right?”

“Shut up!” Gong Xiao, unable to contain his anger, reprimanded her. Ming Yao was Little Orange’s mom, and for his granddaughter’s sake, he didn’t want to make things difficult for Ming Yao. How could it be interpreted as him having an interest in her? Luminous Pearl was becoming more and more ill-bred!

“Gong Yue, look at the fine daughter you’ve raised!” he exclaid.

Seeing that Gong Xiao not only defended Ming Yao but also yelled at her and Mingzhu, Gong Yue beca incensed.

“Big brother, did Mingzhu speak wrongly? I am your sister, Mingzhu is your niece. It’s bad enough you’re not defending us, but you’re also taking Ming Yao’s side. Is this the proper way to act?” she rebuked sharply.

“Mom, I can’t stand to even look at this Ming Yao. Make sure she stays away from our Gong Family in the future!”

Old Lady Gong, who usually doted on Gong Yue, already disliked Ming Yao. She looked sternly at Ming Yao, “What are you still doing here? Even if Siting is infatuated with you, no one else in our Gong Family likes you. If you have any sense, stay away from Siting from now on and don’t disturb his life again! We Gong family mbers are very pleased with Le Shanshan. Once Siting is discharged, I will arrange their engagent!”

“So don’t even dream of becoming a Phoenix risen from obscurity!”

The corridor was filling with doctors and nurses, who, upon hearing Old Lady Gong’s words, cast strange looks at Ming Yao!

To them, it was as if she truly was a vixen who wouldn’t let go of Mr. President!
