Chapter 596: Chapter 593: Taking the Initiative to Hug Him from Behind

Ming Yao stared blankly at the tall, slender man before her, her heart burning with discomfort.

Upon hearing her voice, the man showed no reaction at all, as if she were a stranger.

“Xixi, what’s going on?” the man asked the woman beside him.

The woman nad Xixi looked at Ming Yao with suspicion in her eyes. “May I ask who you are?”

Ming Yao’s butterfly-like long eyelashes trembled gently, emotions churning inside her like a tide.

He couldn’t see anymore, but he could still hear her voice, couldn’t he?

Yet there was no response from him upon hearing her voice; what did that an?

It ant he didn’t rember her!

This possibility caused Ming Yao’s heart to ache unbearably.

“My na is Ming Yao, I’m here to find him.”

The woman nad Xixi was clearly nervous and flustered.

She clung tightly to the man’s arm. “Brother Ah Ting doesn’t know you, you must have mistaken him for soone else!”

Ming Yao pressed her lips together, saying nothing.

After several seconds, she finally broke the silence. “Could you take off your hat and let see your face?”

The man did not remove his hat, his voice cold as an icy pool. “I don’t know you, please leave.”

Upon hearing the man’s words, a thorn seed to catch in Ming Yao’s throat, causing her imnse discomfort.

Her hands, hanging at her sides, clenched into tight fists.

“Do you truly not rember at all?”

Before coming over, she had prepared herself ntally for all possibilities; she thought she could face anything calmly.

Because in her heart, nothing was more important than his being alive!

But now, facing his extre coldness still made her heart constrict with sorrow.

Every cell in her body scread in agitation.

She tilted her head slightly, pushing back the tears welling up in her eyes.

After taking a deep breath, Ming Yao said, “Maybe I really did mistake you for soone else. I’ve been waiting here for quite a long ti, and I’m a bit thirsty. May I have so water at your house?”

Xixi nodded. “Of course, just wait; I’ll go to the kitchen and get you so water.”

After helping the man into the hall, Xixi hurried off towards the kitchen.

Ming Yao entered the hall and gazed at the man’s tall, lean back, her nose suddenly stinging with emotion.

Was it possible that not only were his eyes injured, but his legs as well?

Thinking of the yacht explosion, even from a distance, she could feel the force of the blast; how had he escaped while still on the yacht?

Just the thought of it made her heart ache all the more.

Ming Yao watched his back for a few seconds before she could no longer hold back; she stepped forward and embraced the man tightly from behind.

At the instant the woman’s slender arms wrapped around his lean waist, the man’s body tensed involuntarily.

“What are you doing, let go!” The man’s voice, hard as stone, burst from his throat.

Ming Yao, as though she hadn’t heard the man’s icy voice, held him tightly, fearing that if she let go, he would disappear from her life.

Her eyes brimd with a sour sting, and warm tears soaked into the man’s clothes.

“It doesn’t matter if you don’t rember , as long as I still rember you.”

“It doesn’t matter if you’re blind, I will heal you.”

“As long as you are still alive, everything will be alright…”

Her voice, choking with sobs, made the man’s body tense even more.

The man struggled to restrain his emotions, veins on his forehead bulging prominently.

“If you don’t let go, I won’t be polite anymore!” the man rcilessly pulled her hand away from his waist.

Ming Yao raised her head to look at the man’s stern and sharp features beneath the fisherman’s hat, her delicate eyebrows knitted tightly together.

“Do you really have no impression of at all?”

With his back to her, the man’s voice was cold and hoarse, “I don’t know you.”

Ming Yao’s delicate, pearly teeth bit down on her lip, a hint of pain flashing in her beautiful eyes.

She opened her mouth, wanting to say sothing, when Xixi ca over with a cup of water.

Just as Ming Yao was about to take the water, a slender hand reached out and forcefully knocked the cup to the ground.

“I said I don’t know you, get out!”

Confronted with the man’s chilling indifference, Ming Yao didn’t linger any longer and quickly left.

She didn’t leave the small village, but went out and made a phone call to Lu Zhou.

She wandered around the village, and in the evening, there was a bonfire party that Ming Yao was invited to attend.

The villagers were warm and hospitable. Ming Yao joined them, hopping and skipping with a smile on her face, but her heart was bitter.

Eventually, too exhausted to stay awake, she fell asleep by the fireside, against a large tree.

In her sleep, she dread that he ca over, crouched down in front of her, and brushed the hair from her cheek with his long fingers.

His gaze was filled with pity and pain as he looked at her, chiding her for not being careful about her safety and for falling asleep outside.

A breeze blew by, and she felt a chill. He extended his long arms and pulled her into his embrace, and she rubbed her face against his chest, feeling the long-missed and familiar warmth.

“Senior sister, senior sister…”

Ming Yao slowly opened her eyes, only to find herself hugging a tree, her small face rubbing continuously against it. The corner of her mouth twitched.

“Senior sister, are you missing a man so much that you’re rubbing against a tree like this?”

Ming Yao raised her leg and kicked toward Jing Hang, “Why are you here?”

“I ca here looking for dicinal herbs. Who would have thought I’d run into you here by chance?”

Ming Yao stood up from the ground and looked around, “When you arrived, was I the only one here?”

“Yeah, that’s right!” Jing Hang glared at Ming Yao, “Senior sister, you’re lucky this is a place with simple customs. Otherwise, with your beauty, it would be particularly dangerous for you to sleep here alone at night. Don’t you have any sense of safety?”

Ming Yao ignored Jing Hang and out of the corner of her eye, she suddenly caught sight of sothing.

She squatted down and picked up a small piece of black leather from a glove.

If she wasn’t mistaken, she had seen Gu Siting wearing an old black leather glove on his hand yesterday.

This piece of leather must have fallen off his glove.

Last night, she hadn’t just had a dream, he had really been here!

He hadn’t lost his mory, nor had he forgotten her.

Yet he refused to recognize her and even drove her away. There must be a reason for this!

Thinking about the fake President in the Presidential Residence, Ming Yao seed to vaguely understand sothing.

Since Gu Siting refused to recognize her, then there was no need for her to stay and disrupt his plans.

“Senior sister, one mont you’re frowning, the next you’re smiling. Are you okay?”

Ever since the Mr. President’s incident, senior sister had been a bit neurotic all day long!

Ming Yao smacked Jing Hang on the back of his head, “If anyone’s got a problem, I’ll fix you first. I won’t talk to you anymore. I’m going back first!”

“Going back where?”

A gleam of intelligence flickered in Ming Yao’s eyes, “The capital.”

If her guess was correct, the fake President in the Presidential Residence probably already knew about her coming to the island to find Gu Siting.
