Chapter 234: Chapter 233: She Looks Exactly Like She’s Jealous Chapter 234: Chapter 233: She Looks Exactly Like She’s Jealous Ming Yao walked out of the courtyard, ready to visit Old Madam Gu.
She happened to see a tall and upright man, and a woman in a white coat, coming out of Old Madam Gu’s room.
Both of them looked slightly weary, presumably having not slept all night.
Ming Yao stood in the corner, avoiding being seen by the two.
Side by side, their figures receded into the distance.
As they were about to reach the main gate, Shi Yuan seed to twist her ankle, on the verge of falling, but the man beside her reached out and steadied her.
Shi Yuan raised her head and gave the man a smile.
The usually reticent man’s thin lips harbored a faint curve, as if smiling in response to Shi Yuan.
Thin snowflakes continued to drift in the sky, slantingly falling on both of their heads.
On the roadside, a plum blossom in full bloom peeped out, creating an image that seed as beautifully romantic as a scene from an idol drama from afar.
Ming Yao’s pupils constricted slightly.
Such a scene unexpectedly made the corners of her eyes prick with a tinge of pain.
She closed her eyes, then turned and headed for the kitchen.
She prepared breakfast herself and carried it to the doorstep of Old Madam Gu’s courtyard.
Wen Qing, Old Madam’s servant, saw Ming Yao coming and hurried to stop her outside.
“Miss Ming, the Old Madam wasn’t feeling well last night. She had breakfast made personally by Miss Shi Ying this morning and has gone to sleep. You should go back to your own courtyard and rest!”
Miss Ming?
Yesterday, Wen Qing still called her Fourth Young Lady, and today she had beco Miss Ming!
Ming Yao, always sharp-minded, had already sensed the abnormal atmosphere.
Grandma Gu’s attitude toward her had, all of a sudden, taken a one hundred and eighty-degree turn.
What could be the reason?
Since Old Madam Gu would not eat the breakfast she had made, Ming Yao could only carry it back to her own courtyard.
Sitting on the sofa, she thought of the scene of Tyrant Gu and Shi Ying walking together in the morning, a sour and astringent feeling in her chest.
Such emotions made her feel both unfamiliar and sowhat lost.
With her long eyelashes drooping, she didn’t touch her chopsticks, until the food slowly cooled down.
After an indeterminate amount of ti passed, the man pushed the door and entered.
Seeing the woman sitting cross-legged on the Bamboo strips bed, Gu Siting walked over, sat beside her, and naturally embraced her in his arms.
“I was just about to call you out for breakfast. Why did you make it yourself?”
As he approached, Ming Yao could sll the fresh and elegant fragrance of his perfu.
It was the scent of Shi Ying’s perfu.
Ming Yao frowned and pushed him away.
Seeing the woman’s droopy face and discontented expression, Gu Siting squatted beside her, his long, knotty fingers pinching her chin and lifting her small face.
Their eyes t, and he asked in a low voice, “Were you unhappy because I didn’t co back last night?”
Ming Yao pursed her red lips and said nothing.
“Grandma was unwell last night, so I took care of her all night.”
Ming Yao stared into the man’s unfathomably dark narrow eyes, her long eyelashes trembling lightly, “Together with Miss Shi?”
Gu Siting humd lowly, “Her grandfather asked her to co over, and Grandma also wanted her to stay by her side to take care of her. I thought not to tire you out, so I didn’t call you over.”
The man seed to think of sothing, a faint smile appearing on his handso face, “Jealous?”
Ming Yao looked at the man who seed to be anticipating her jealousy, and huffed, “Who’s jealous? I’m just worried about your grandma. How is her health really? I went to see her this morning, but Aunt Wen Qing wouldn’t let in.”
“She might have been frightened by the ancestral rites yesterday and vomited blood at night, Grandpa Shi said it was from excessive anxiety and distress!”
Ming Yao pushed the man in front of her, “Go take a shower. You sll like Miss Shi’s perfu, and it’s not a fragrance I like.”
Gu Siting was taken aback, then his thin lips curled up slightly, “Not liking it is good.” He stood up, ready to head to the bathroom, but as if he rembered sothing, he turned back to look at her, “When I was sending her ho, she almost slipped, so I gave her a hand.”
He was being straightforward.
Ming Yao was feeling sowhat gloomy and angry.
But upon hearing his candor, she couldn’t help but snort with laughter.
“Am I that petty?”
The man raised his eyebrows, “Who was the one just now with a pout that could hang two oil bottles?”
Ming Yao grabbed a throw pillow from the bamboo strips bed and threw it at the man in annoyance and embarrassnt.
Jerky man, does she have no dignity?
After Gu Siting finished his shower, Ming Yao had already reheated breakfast.
The two of them had breakfast together. Ming Yao looked at him and said, “Husband, you should get so more sleep later. I’m going out to shop.”
“I’ll accompany you.”
“No need, no need, I’m just going for a casual stroll. You didn’t sleep last night; get so good rest!”
Gu Siting, worried, arranged for Fang Keer to accompany Ming Yao on her shopping trip.
Ming Yao wanted to refuse, but Fang Keer had already enthusiastically taken on the role of her driver and tour guide.
While Fang Keer was driving, she would glance at Ming Yao from ti to ti. Ming Yao touched her face, puzzled, “Keer, is there sothing on my face?”
Fang Keer blushed, “There’s nothing on Fourth Young Lady’s face, I just think you’re really beautiful.”
Ming Yao was teased into laughter by Fang Keer, “In the capital, there are countless beauties. Haven’t you seen plenty? Besides, you’re a pretty girl yourself!”
“Fourth Young Lady, you’re so good with words. I’m telling the truth. The prettiest people I’ve ever seen are you and Sister Shi Ying from before. But you two are different types. Sister Shi Ying is cool and aloof, like a fairy untouched by the world’s dust, while you, Fourth Young Lady, are like a rich and splendid flower, an especially delicate and bright presence.”
Hearing Fang Keer ntion Shi Ying, Ming Yao casually asked, “Shi Ying was your Fourth Brother’s first love, right?”
Fang Keer didn’t imdiately answer Ming Yao. She nodded and then shook her head.
“The outside world says Fourth Brother was madly in love with Sister Shi Ying, but when Sister Shi Ying was still here, Fourth Brother took to the park for a date with her. When we got there, Sister Shi Ying had disappeared. Fourth Brother ended up taking around the park to play. Anyway, I never saw them holding hands together or doing any intimate gestures…”
“But I was young back then, I didn’t understand anything! Anyway, seeing Fourth Brother with you now, Fourth Young Lady, it’s completely different from how he was with Sister Shi Ying. I can tell at a glance that Fourth Brother really cares about you now, Fourth Young Lady, so you have no need to be jealous!”
Ming Yao touched her nose. Did she really look jealous right now?
But Shi Ying was no longer around, so she had no intention of delving into his past.
Just as he said before, what’s so important about the past?
What’s important is the present and the future!
Guided by Fang Keer, Ming Yao shopped for nearly a day.
By evening, Gu Siting looked at Ming Yao returning with nurous shopping bags, shaking his head helplessly.
“Walking around all day, don’t your feet hurt?”
Shopping could bring joy to a woman’s body and soul; who would care about sore feet?
But Tyrant Gu ntioned it, and now she did feel her feet were a bit sore.
Ming Yao took off her shoes, about to massage her feet, when the man’s large hand reached out first.
He placed her foot on his lap, his long, fair hand grasping her delicate little foot, gently massaging it.
