Chapter 213: Chapter 212: Maybe Leaving Is the Right Decision

Jing Hang was utterly bewildered.

What on earth was his Senior Sister talking about?

Not wanting to let whom get hurt again? Leave whom?

Her titular husband?

But Senior Brother wouldn’t be able to develop the dicine to treat her insomnia for another two months. If she left her titular husband, how would she manage?

Jing Hang grabbed Ming Yao’s arm in a rush, saying anxiously, “Senior Sister, don’t be impulsive!”

Ming Yao stroked Little Snowball’s head, lowering her long eyelashes to hide the expression in her eyes, “After I’m gone, send Little Snowball to the Imperial Garden.”

“Senior Sister, don’t do anything foolish!”

Seeing Jing Hang’s worried expression, Ming Yao suddenly let out a chuckle.

“You fool, I was just teasing you; I’m planning to go on a trip with him! Take good care of Little Snowball for while I’m gone, got it?”

Little Snowball owed a few tis as if to say: Mommy and Daddy are going on a trip without ; I’m completely out of favor now!

Hearing Ming Yao’s words, the huge stone in Jing Hang’s chest finally settled down.

“Senior Sister, you really scared the life out of !”

The next day,

Ming Yao went to the hospital to pick up Gu Siting for his discharge.

His leg wasn’t injured, and his arm had only minor injuries, which did not hinder his daily life.

Yanxi and several others also ca to the hospital to pick Gu Siting up. Upon seeing him walking normally, Yanxi smacked his lips, “Fourth Brother, your leg recovery is too miraculous, isn’t it? Wasn’t it supposed to take at least three to six months? Even a divine doctor couldn’t have such great dical skills, could they?”

Gu Siting glanced at Ming Yao, who was packing his bags, and swept Yanxi a sharp look, signaling him to talk less.

Back at the Imperial Garden, Ming Yao personally cooked a large table full of dishes.

Yanxi took a bite then suddenly stopped.

“Ming Yao, you can actually cook? It’s impressive enough you can cook, and it’s even delicious at that?”

Sitting opposite Yanxi, Mu Chengjin was tasting Ming Yao’s cooking for the first ti as well.

He took a bite and likewise paused.

Furrowing his brows slightly, he sensed sothing familiar, as if he had eaten it before.

Quickly, he rembered the taste of the dishes cooked by Fourth Brother’s little maid, Gu Fuzhen; they were nearly identical.

Equally delicious.

Mu Chengjin took a few more bites.

The more he ate, the more familiar it seed.

What relationship did Gu Fuzhen have with Ming Yao?

Why did the taste of their cooking seem almost identical?

A hint of confusion appeared in Mu Chengjin’s eyes.

He looked up at Gu Siting.

Fourth Brother seed not to notice anything strange; his face serene, his dark eyes deep, impenetrable to the thoughts hidden within.

After the al, once Yanxi and the others had left, Ming Yao took out a bottle of dicine from her bag and handed it to Gu Siting.

“This dicine will strengthen the body. You should smoke less, and drink less alcohol. Mind your diet, go for light foods, avoid any further injuries, and take care to nurture your health.”

Seeing the dicine Ming Yao was offering, he furrowed his brows, “I don’t need it.”

“Take it, it can only benefit your health regardless.”

Gu Siting’s dark gaze intent on Ming Yao, sensing sothing off about her today.

Picking him up from the hospital, preparing a whole table of food, and now offering him a bottle of dicine.

As he took the dicine bottle, he also caught her wrist, pulling her into his embrace.

“Mrs. Gu,” his jaw rested on the top of her head, inhaling the faint scent of her hair as he spoke in a deep and husky voice, “don’t treat like a patient.”

Ming Yao raised her head to look at him, her delicate fingertips caressing the sculpted contours of his face, “I’ve never treated you like a patient, but from now on, you should also take good care of your body.”

She took a deep breath as if to forever engrave the scent of him into her heart.

“Also, I’m sorry.”

She apologized for the deceit she had shown him in the past.

She apologized for wanting the “heart blood” from his heart.

She apologized for not being able to offer him equal affection.

With her long, dense eyelashes cast down, Gu Siting couldn’t make out her expression.

His slender fingers pinched her chin and lifted her small face, his gaze dropping to hers, “Why are you apologizing?”

Ming Yao’s lips curved into a slight smile, “For many things, I suppose. In any case, you must take care and be happy.”

Gu Siting grew more uneasy the more he listened, his large hand clasped around her shoulder, pulling her into his embrace.

“Ming Yao, what are you planning to do?”

Are you leaving ?

Can’t stand being with for another mont?

Ming Yao watched as the man’s emotions suddenly beca agitated, and as if seeing through his mind, she took the initiative to grasp his large hand, “Don’t worry, I won’t go to Senior Brother’s place.”

Hearing her response, the fierceness in Gu Siting’s eyes slowly began to fade.

“Mrs. Gu, are you afraid of ?”

Song Yuzhi had called him a monster who had once stabbed soone to death.

He did indeed stab soone to death!

If he hadn’t, he would have been toyed with by others, and even if he survived, he would have been left broken!

He couldn’t bear the touch of others, preferring to be shattered like a piece of jade rather than survive whole as a common tile!

“During that ti, no kids would play with , and at school, people would point at and call a murderer!”

Ming Yao raised her arms and embraced the man’s tall fra forcefully.

He buried his face into her neck, his large body bending slightly like a child in desperate need of warmth.

“Mr. Gu, if it were , I would have done the sa as you! Fight with all my might to protect my innocence. You are brave and strong, not a murderer. Those people are the devils, and they deserved to die!”

Gu Siting had his handso face buried in Ming Yao’s neck, and when he heard her say with a soft and firm voice, “I’m not afraid of you at all,” mist-like moisture ford in his eyes.

He tightened his embrace around her slender arms, wishing he could rge her into his very bones and blood.

That day, he mustered all his courage to reveal to her that dark part of his past.

For years, he forced himself not to think about it, not to rember, because any part of it could make him ntally collapse in discomfort!

He feared that once he spoke about it, she would despise and fear him.

Although he hadn’t let those people dirty him and had even stabbed soone while in won’s clothing, he had blood on his hands; he wasn’t a truly good person!

His heart hung in suspension until now when she told him she wasn’t afraid of him or disgusted by him!

That night, Ming Yao stayed with Gu Siting and talked for a long ti until he fell asleep.

Ming Yao didn’t feel sleepy at all.

Even though he was right next to her, she had no desire to sleep.

She sat by the bed, watching the man with a tranquil sleeping face under the orange wall lamp, gently tracing his countenance with her fingertips.

“Mr. Gu, you will definitely et a woman who truly cares for you. As for this Little Swindler, I don’t deserve your kindness. I’ve already died once; death holds no fear for now, doesn’t it?”
