After seeing Zilia off at the airport, Juniper returned to her apartnt. She spent the next hour tidying up, then treated herself to a hot bath. Feeling relaxed, she stepped out onto her balcony, cradling a glass of fresh coconut water that had been delivered just monts before.

"I forgot to ssage Denzel," she muttered, suddenly anxious. She scanned the balcony, and when she didn't see her phone, she hurried into the bedroom to retrieve it from the bed.

As she opened her ssages, her eyes widened at a text from Denzel sent fifteen minutes ago: "I'm on my way to your house. Get ready. I'm taking you sowhere."

In panic, she rushed to her closet, pulling out clothes and holding them up against her reflection, her mind spinning with indecision. Finally, she settled on a white skirt and matching top. It felt elegant and perfect for their first date.

She didn't waste another second. She slipped into the outfit, then quickly blow-dried her hair, smoothing it out until it fell straight.

"I really need to get my golden highlights touched up," she murmured to her reflection, making a ntal note as she hurried to finish her preparations.

Applying a touch of light makeup, she reached for a strawberry-tinted lipstick, pressing her lips together to evenly blend the color. She slipped into her rose gold sandals and fastened a pair of gold earrings, catching her reflection one last ti. She had just turned away when her phone chid.

Seeing Denzel's na on the screen, she took a steady breath and answered.

"Yes, Denzel?"

"Are you ready? I'm waiting for you in the car," Denzel stated.

"Yes, I'm ready. I'm coming down now," Juniper replied. She ended the call, grabbed her mini white purse, and hurried out the door.

As she reached the gates, she found Denzel leaning against the bonnet of his car. He was dressed in a casual t-shirt and blue jeans, a relaxed style she rarely saw him wear.

Juniper paused before him. "I hope I didn't keep you waiting."

"Not at all," he promised. He reached out to gently brush a stray lock of hair behind her ear before moving to open the door for her. Juniper offered a soft smile and slid into the seat, and a mont later, Denzel climbed in from the driver's side to start the engine.

As Denzel rged the car out of the residential complex and into the light traffic, he cast a quick glance her way.

"You look pretty," he said. The complint was casual, but the way he lingered on her for a second before refocusing on the road sent a jolt through her.

A sudden heat crept up Juniper's neck, flushing her cheeks. She turned toward the window, trying to mask her reaction with a polite, "Thank you."

Then, silence took over between them. She stared at the passing scenery, wrestling with the familiar anxiety that always surfaced whenever things felt right.

She took a slow breath, trying to steady her racing heart.

"What's going through your head, June?" Denzel asked, his tone steady. He kept his eyes on the road, but his body language suggested he was giving her his full attention. "If you're having doubts, just tell . Don't keep it bottled up."

Juniper traced the stitching on her purse, her fingers moving nervously.

"I agreed to this date," she began, "but I can't stop overthinking it. I keep wondering if this is a mistake."

Denzel signaled and switched lanes. "A mistake because you don't want to date , or because you're scared of what cos next?"

"Because of what we have right now," she admitted, finally eting his gaze. "I'm terrified that if we start sothing more, everything else will shift. My biggest fear isn't just the date, it's losing the foundation we've already built. If this doesn't work out, I'm scared that you won't be my friend anymore. That I'll lose the person who trusted ."

Denzel fell silent for a few seconds, absorbing her words. He seed to be weighing them carefully.

"That's a heavy concern," he said, finally looking over at her before glancing back at the road. "But I need you to be clearer. When you ask if I'll change, are you asking if my behavior toward you is going to shift simply because of a label, or are you worried I'll walk away if things get complicated?"

Juniper remained silent, staring out the window at the passing trees. She couldn't bring herself to voice the root of her hesitation, who was Dominick. He had been a man who demanded perfection but never once bothered to understand her life or the pressures she faced.

Denzel didn't look away from the road, but his grip on the steering wheel tightened slightly. "Are you afraid I'll turn out like Prince Dominick?" he asked. "That if you make a mistake or hide sothing from , I'll just abandon you?"

Juniper turned toward him, her expression caught between shock and embarrassnt. "Do you read minds?"

Denzel shook his head. "No. It wasn't hard to guess. Your fear of relationships is clearly rooted in your past." He glanced at her for a second with seriousness.

"Gabriel told about the situation with Noah, the things you said about him not being a 'real' Sinclair. You expected them to turn their backs on you, but they chose to forgive you. People who want to stay, Juniper, they stay regardless of the mistakes."

He kept his focus forward, but his voice was firm. "Not everyone is Prince Dominick. Back then, you broke more than just his trust; you hurt everyone around you. But you've said it yourself that you and the Prince were never a good fit. You need to stop holding to the standard of a man who didn't want to understand you in the first place."

Juniper's heart skipped a beat to listen to his words. The man might be younger than her, but his intellect spoke maturity. The doubts she had been carrying now completely vanished.
