~Thorne’s POV
After the al with Great Luna Seraphine, I bowed low to greet her. "It’s an honor, Great Luna," I said, my voice steady. "I promise I’ll visit again. Often."
She smiled, a small and graceful gesture, and nodded. "You are always welco, Alpha Thorne."
I inclined my head again, then turned to walk Elara back to her room. She walked beside quietly, her presence calm, almost serene, and I felt a small relief having her there. When I left her at her door, I gave her a slight bow. "Good night, Elara. Sleep well."
"Good night, Alpha Thorne," she replied softly.
I finally made my way to my chamber. The door was barely closed before I noticed Luke, my beta, waiting for . He was standing stiffly, hands behind his back, eyes alert.
"Luke," I said, lowering my voice slightly, my eyes narrowing as I studied him. "Were you able to get anything... anything at all about those who attacked Damon and his brothers?"
Luke shook his head slowly, his expression tight, careful. "No, Alpha. Nothing. No rumors, no whispers. Not a single soul has heard anything about it. I’ve asked, I’ve checked... It’s like it never happened."
Anger bubbled up inside , burning hot. "Nothing?" I snapped, my hands clenching into fists at my sides. "Are you telling that no one, not a single person, knows who dared to attack them? Not even a hint? Not even a whisper?"
He raised his hands slightly, a gesture of caution. "I’m sorry, Alpha. I swear, I’ve tried everything I could. I’ve questioned everyone I could without raising suspicion. But there’s nothing. It’s like it never even happened."
I ran a hand through my hair, frustration boiling over. My teeth clenched. "Damn it! How can this be? How can no one have any idea? Not a single clue, not a trace? I can’t stand this, Luke. I can’t."
Luke hesitated, glancing around nervously before lowering his voice even more. "There is... sothing, Alpha. I’m not sure if it counts, but Damon sent an invitation. To all of Alphas. Every alpha in the area, he’s asking you to et him at the palace tomorrow."
I felt my chest tighten at the news. A spark of satisfaction lit up inside . Finally. Finally, a chance to see Damon face-to-face, to asure him, to see exactly what kind of ga he is playing.
I let out a slow breath, my hands unclenching. "Good," I said quietly, my eyes darkening with determination. "Tomorrow, then. I will see him. And when I do, I’ll find the answers I’m looking for."
The next day ca too quickly. I dressed carefully, my uniform sharp, my deanor steady, but my mind raced. I rode to the palace, the sun still low on the horizon, my wolf instincts alert.
Inside the hall, Damon stood at the front. He looked calm, controlled, but there was fire in his eyes, the kind of fire I’ve learned not to underestimate. As he spoke, I listened carefully.
"You are all here because I have a task for you," he said, his voice low but commanding. "Three missing persons. Alive. You will find them."
My chest tightened. Alive. That part I understood. But then he nad the first two, and I recognized them imdiately: Fridolf and Belinda. My jaw clenched. I knew them.
Then, before he said it, I realized who the third person was: Lisa.
I felt my stomach drop. Lisa. That na. That face. My twin sister. And then it hit , I knew Damon must have noticed it too. He had seen the resemblance. There was no hiding it.
The eting ended, the alphas leaving one by one, bowing, murmuring their agreent to the task. But I stayed behind. I had questions. Questions that burned at .
"Alpha Damon," I said finally, stepping forward. "I need an audience. Alone."
He studied , then nodded. "Very well. Follow ."
We moved to a smaller chamber, quiet, away from the others. My mind raced, my throat dry. I had one question, one that had haunted since I first saw her portrait:
"Where... where did you put my twin sister?" I asked, my voice low, almost trembling, but filled with a controlled fury.
Damon stared at , his eyes narrowing. "Wait... repeat that," he said slowly, as if making sure he heard right.
I didn’t flinch. I repeated it, my voice firm but low, trembling slightly with anger. "Where is my sister? What have you done to her?"
For a mont, he just stared at , like he couldn’t believe his ears. "How... how are you... Lisa’s twin brother?" His voice was a mix of shock and disbelief.
I clenched my fists, stepping closer, my jaw tight. "She’s my sister! My twin! We were separated when we were infants. I’ve been looking for her. And now... now you’re trying to deny that?"
He opened his mouth, probably to argue, but I cut him off, my anger burning hotter. "I don’t care what you can do to , Damon! You could kill right here, and I wouldn’t back down!"
His eyes flickered, a shadow of caution passing over his face. But I didn’t let it stop . I took a deep breath, letting my words hit with everything I had. "I want my sister! I want to see her! I want to bond with her, to finally be with her again! And you... You are stopping from that. Two days. That’s all the ti you have to find her. Two days, or I swear..."
I let my voice rise, letting it echo in the small chamber. I didn’t care who heard . I didn’t care about his power, his presence, or what he could do. I was done waiting.
Damon’s lips pressed into a thin line. His hands twitched slightly, but he didn’t move toward . He understood the seriousness, the fire in , the truth in my words. He could see it in my eyes. I wasn’t bluffing.
"You will give my sister," I repeated, my voice sharper this ti, my fists shaking. "Two days. That’s all. And if not... don’t think I’ll let it slide. Don’t think I’ll be easy."
I turned abruptly, my cloak swishing behind as I left the chamber. My heart raced, my breath coming faster than usual, but I didn’t stop. I didn’t look back. I had said my piece. I had drawn the line.
Even as I walked through the palace halls, I could feel the fire inside , the rage and the desperation mixing. I knew Damon could hurt if he wanted. I knew he had the power. But I didn’t care.
I had no choice. My sister... my twin... she was out there, and I would not rest. Not until I had her back. Not until we were together again.
Two days. That’s all the ti I gave him and his brothers. Two days to deliver what was mine.
And if he failed... he would regret it.
