In the manor, the servants moved quietly, not daring to approach the main courtyard. The butler ca to inquire about breakfast, only to find the courtyard empty, the door tightly closed. There was a faint sound from within. The butler blushed slightly, not daring to disturb, and only after breakfast ti had passed did the bell at the courtyard door ring, prompting the butler to order others to heat up breakfast.
Xie Jue was sowhat annoyed with his indulgence, his waist too sore to straighten. He was a very restrained and upright person who would never allow Fang Chuning to engage in dayti frivolities. But Fang Chuning, with his looks and audacity, insisted on dragging him into pleasure. He knew that everyone at the manor was probably aware by now—given the commotion when they returned from the hot spring to the courtyard. He was utterly exhausted, whereas Fang Chuning looked refreshed, having taken advantage and then coyly helping to massage him.
It was almost noon, and if he didn’t leave the room soon, he’d lose face. The manor was full of the Marquis Zhenbei Mansion’s old servants, all loyal and having watched Xie Jue grow up. He couldn’t possibly spend a whole day and night fooling around with Fang Chuning in a room.
Fang Chuning was attentive, setting up a small table and chairs on the bunk bed, bringing over Xie Jue’s favorite breakfast. It was clear his appetite wasn’t great, so Fang Chuning didn’t take too much and was even attentive enough to feed him.
Xie Jue, "..."
He looked at Fang Chuning, who was smiling like a cat that got the cream, feeling both annoyed and amused, and asked with a stern face, "Is pretending to have amnesia fun?"
"Misunderstanding, misunderstanding..." Fang Chuning propped up his head, "I really rembered bit by bit, never had any intention to hide it from you."
Pretend!!
Xie Jue sneered, "I’m giving you a chance to confess. Was it after the poisoning in Pingnan County that you rembered?"
"How could that be!" Fang Chuning denied flatly, looking terrified, "If I had rembered that early, would I dare to deceive you? Even if I had ten guts, I wouldn’t dare. I only rembered gradually after returning to the capital and being punished by my father, reflecting in the ancestral hall. But I was kept at ho and didn’t get a chance to tell you. Originally, I intended to find an opportunity to tell you when I arrived at the manor, but who knew you’d use beauty tactics to deceive ."
He truly didn’t dare to tell Xie Jue that he rembered as early as in Pingnan County, unless he really wanted to die!
Xie Jue was indeed eager to know Fang Chuning’s condition in Pingnan County, but now he wasn’t in a hurry to find out why Fang Chuning would deceive him.
As long as he’s well and safe, he has nothing else to ask for. The loss of mory was a regret, but losing mory or not, Fang Chuning was still Fang Chuning, still his beloved, without a change.
"How did you end up being taken away by the Grand Marshal?"
Fang Chuning felt a bit troubled at the ntion of this, "I was first taken by the High Priest’s people, intended as leverage against you. But midway, I was taken by my father’s people. The High Priest was arrogant and focused solely on you, unaware of my father’s character. He thought my father’s people would notify you once they took , thus losing the bargaining chip for negotiation with you, leading to his own demise."
"But when I asked him then, he was evasive and didn’t know your whereabouts."
"He really didn’t know. The situation was too urgent at the ti. He might have thought my father hadn’t had ti to inform you. But since my father took away, he thought that my father couldn’t possibly kill his own son, so he lost his spirit long ago. After taking back to Jiangnan, my father forced to make a decision: break up with you or die. I didn’t want either, so my father gave a third option, to drink a potion that would make lose my mory. I gambled that if I forgot and still fell in love with you, he would no longer ddle between us, and I won that bet."
"No!" Xie Jue said expressionlessly, "The you with amnesia did not fall in love with again."
He knew Fang Chuning too well, thus he could sensitively capture his emotions. From Jiangnan to Pingnan County, Fang Chuning’s feelings for him were at most from distant to familiar, far from being moved or liked. He could sensitively detect Fang Chuning’s intentions, thus he felt very frustrated.
Fang Chuning, "..."
