The forest was eerily silent, save for the occasional rustling of leaves in the wind. Ancient trees with gnarled roots stretched toward the heavens, their canopies casting elongated shadows upon the moss-covered ground. A dense mist slithered between the trunks, giving the entire woodland an almost ethereal quality. The scent of damp earth and blooming flora mingled in the air, yet there was an underlying tension, an unnatural stillness that seed to hang over the place like an unspoken warning.

Above the treetops, the Sentinel hovered in near silence, its enchanted thrusters humming faintly as Kael and his team surveyed the landscape below. The skiff glided through the mist, its sleek fra barely visible against the gloom. Within the cockpit, the air was tense. Kael’s fingers hovered over the controls, his instincts warning him of impending danger. Then, without warning, the unnatural quiet shattered.

The forest trembled, a deep rumbling reverberating through the ground. Trees quivered, their leaves rustling violently despite the absence of wind. The mist swirled unnaturally, as if disturbed by an unseen force. Sothing was coming.

Then it ca.

A roaring beam of mana tore through the sky like a lance of divine fury. The very air around it warped and crackled as the sheer force of the energy distorted reality itself. The beam, a swirling conflux of blue and violet energy, burned a path straight toward the Sentinel. Its edges frayed like living lightning, its core an incandescent white that radiated searing heat. The surrounding atmosphere howled in protest, sending shockwaves through the forest, tearing apart smaller trees and uprooting shrubs in its wake.

Kael’s instincts scread at him. Without a mont’s hesitation, he activated Blink, the Sentinel’s teleportation chanism. A pulse of arcane energy surged through the aircraft, and in the blink of an eye, the entire Sentinel vanished from its original position.

The mana beam struck the empty space where the Sentinel had been a fraction of a second earlier. The impact was catastrophic. A deafening explosion rang through the air as the ground beneath the beam’s path disintegrated into molten slag. The sheer heat ignited nearby foliage, sending embers spiraling into the sky. A massive crater, at least twenty ters wide, lay smoldering where the beam had connected, steam and fire intermingling in a chaotic dance of destruction.

Kael, now hovering above in the Sentinel’s new location, narrowed his eyes. "Where the hell did that co from?" he muttered, scanning the landscape below.

Recognizing the level of power involved, he imdiately activated the Sentinel’s stealth mode. The aircraft shimred for a brief mont before vanishing entirely, cloaked from sight.

"Alice, find out who cast that spell," Kael commanded.

"Understood, Master." Without hesitation, Alice blinked out of the Sentinel and descended toward the forest below.

As she landed, her feet barely made a sound against the soft earth. Her piercing eyes imdiately locked onto a figure standing amidst the carnage left by the attack.

A man, clad in an unfamiliar suit of intricate, tallic plating, stood motionless. His armor was sleek, composed of interlocking silver plates that glead even in the dim light of the forest. His features were eerily human—silver-gray hair, pale complexion, and piercing blue eyes—but his expression was completely devoid of emotion. His presence exuded an unnatural stillness, as though he were a statue brought to life. A faint glow pulsed from the center of his chest—a Spirit Crystal embedded deep within his fra.

Alice took a step forward. "Identify yourself," she commanded.

The man remained silent, his unblinking gaze locked onto her. Then, finally, he spoke—but not in the common tongue.

The words were unfamiliar yet eerily similar to the ancient language Kael had once encountered in the ruins. Alice, however, recognized them instantly. Her programming retained knowledge of the old tongue, a remnant from the ti before Kael had reworked her matrix.

"You are trespassing," the figure stated. His voice was smooth yet hollow, devoid of inflection. "Leave or be annihilated."

Alice’s expression remained unreadable. "Negative. We have co for the Eldersilver."

At the ntion of Eldersilver, the man’s eyes seed to pulse briefly with a brighter light. Without further warning, he shifted his stance.

"Defense Protocol: Activated."

His form began to shift, tal plates realigning with chanical precision. His limbs elongated, his fra expanded, and in an instant, he had entered his Golem Mode. A pure silver exoskeleton ford around him, his once humanoid shape now a towering construct of living tal. The Spirit Crystal at his core radiated an intense luminescence, pulsing in sync with the mana coursing through his body.

Alice, unfazed, mirrored his transformation. Her own exoskeleton deployed, red and gold plating snapping into place like an unfolding battle suit. Her glowing eyes t his in unwavering determination.

For a mont, silence.

Then, as if by mutual agreent, both figures vanished in a blur of motion.

The ground trembled as their clash began. A resounding shockwave erupted through the forest, sending dust and debris into the air. Alice parried the Golem’s initial strike, her enhanced limbs absorbing the sheer force behind the blow. Sparks showered as tal t tal, each impact reverberating like the tolling of a great bell.

Kael observed from above, his eyes widening in recognition. "That transformation... It’s a golem—like Alice."

Alice adjusted her stance mid-air, twisting in a near-impossible maneuver to avoid a devastating downward strike. In response, she generated a concentrated energy blade from her forearm, slashing upward in a precise arc. The blade t the Golem’s plating, sending a ripple through its form but failing to break through.

"Analyzing..." Alice murmured. "Core density at 94%. Weak points detected near joint articulations."

The Golem responded with a pulse of energy, sending Alice skidding backward. It raised its arm, and from within its plating, a massive cannon materialized. Blue light coalesced at its core, growing brighter with each passing second.

"High-yield mana discharge detected!" Alice’s voice echoed in Kael’s mind through their telepathic link. "I require imdiate reinforcent."

Kael didn’t hesitate. "On my way."

Kael turned to Lucien. "Take control of the Sentinel," he ordered. "I’m assisting Alice."

Lucien hesitated, his hands hovering over the controls. His eyes darted between Kael and Alice, who had fully transford before them. "Wait... that’s—"

Isolde’s breath hitched, her eyes widening in disbelief. "What... what is he? That other one... it looks just like her..."

There was no ti for shock. Kael activated Blink, his form vanishing in a surge of arcane energy before reappearing near Alice. His boots touched the ground softly, his gaze locking onto the towering Golem before them. anwhile, above, Lucien gritted his teeth and took control of the Sentinel, his hands gripping the controls as he steadied the hovering aircraft.

Kael’s gauntlet shimred with intricate runes, responding to his intent.

"Alice, we need to restrain it. I need it intact."

Kael extended his hand, his mana surging outward as gravity itself bent to his will. A crushing force descended upon the Golem, anchoring it to the ground. The air around it distorted, shimring under the imnse gravitational pull.

Its limbs strained against the unseen weight, its movents sluggish as if wading through a viscous tide. Kael clenched his fist, intensifying the pressure, aiming to subdue the golem before it could unleash another devastating attack.

The ground trembled as Kael exerted his will over gravity, the unseen force pressing down on the golem with unrelenting intensity. The golem’s silver-plated limbs groaned under the pressure, but his movents, though slowed, did not cease. Instead, a flicker of energy surged through the Spirit Crystal embedded in his chest. Blue light pulsed outward, negating so of the gravitational force holding him in place.

Kael narrowed his eyes. "He’s resisting more than I expected." His mana surged again, increasing the gravity tenfold. The air rippled, the surrounding foliage flattening under the imnse pressure. Dirt cracked beneath the golem’s feet as his form sank slightly into the ground.

For a brief mont, it seed the restraint was holding.

Then the golem moved.

His arms jerked forward with inhuman precision, a thin layer of energy coating his limbs. His entire body shimred as he activated an augntation spell, reinforcing his structure and pushing his systems past their normal limits. The ground beneath him cracked apart as his strength surged beyond what Kael anticipated. With one decisive movent, The golem shattered the gravitational hold.

Kael barely had ti to react before the golem was upon him.

A single strike. A perfectly calculated blow.

The force sent Kael hurtling through the air, his body smashing through the dense foliage. Branches snapped like twigs as he crashed through the treetops before plumting toward the forest floor. The impact would have been catastrophic, had Alice not reacted instantly.

With a burst of speed, Alice blinked into Kael’s trajectory, catching him just before he slamd into a thick tree trunk. The sheer force of the impact still sent them both skidding back, but Alice held firm, absorbing most of the shock.

Kael groaned, pushing himself upright with Alice’s assistance. He exhaled sharply, regaining his focus. "He’s almost as strong as Gregor."

Alice kept her eyes locked on the golem, who stood motionless once more, his cold, calculating gaze watching them.

"Master," Alice spoke, her voice steady, "it would be difficult to subdue him without damaging him. How would you like us to proceed?"

Kael clenched his fists, his mind racing. The golem’s strength was beyond what he had anticipated, and brute force alone wouldn’t be enough. He needed to disable him, not destroy him. There was sothing different about this golem—he wasn’t rely another mindless construct. The ancient technology embedded within him was advanced, likely tied to the ruins they sought.

"Let’s try holding him up first," Kael finally decided.

Alice nodded. Without hesitation, she blurred forward, her exoskeleton shifting as her enhanced limbs adjusted for close-quarters combat. The golem’s gaze tracked her movents, but before he could react, Kael unleashed another gravity field. This ti, rather than pinning him down, he altered the force around the golem’s limbs, attempting to suspend him midair.

The golem’s reaction was imdiate. His systems recalibrated, energy surging once more through his frawork. He shifted his stance, counteracting the gravitational forces with a burst of raw power from his Spirit Crystal. But Alice was already in motion.

She appeared at his side, her enhanced strength focusing on his joints, targeting the detected weak points. Her blows struck true, forcing he golems systems into a defensive state. The silver golem attempted to retaliate, but with Kael’s gravitational manipulation distorting his balance, his movents were sluggish.

For the first ti, The golem showed signs of strain.

Kael intensified the pressure, layering his spellwork to reinforce Alice’s assault. The Spirit Crystal at golem’s core pulsed erratically, struggling against the combined force of magic and precision combat.

The golem’s head tilted slightly, his expression unchanged, but his next words carried an edge of finality.

"Analyzing threat level."

The glow of his core intensified. The surrounding air crackled. The fight was far from over.
