Keira's eyes narrowed with interest. "And what would that be?"

Kael paced the study, the Duke's letter clutched in his hand. The wax seal bearing the Duke's insignia had been broken monts earlier, and its contents now stirred the gears of his inventive mind. Keira, seated by the arched window, watched him with a mix of curiosity and amusent. Her fingers drumd lightly on the wooden armrest of her chair as she waited for Kael to speak.

"Keira," Kael said at last, handing her the letter. "Read this."

She took it eagerly, her eyes scanning the elegant handwriting.

Dear Kael Valtieri,

I hope this letter finds you in good health. I must express my utmost satisfaction with the ring you sent. Its enchantnt, allowing to open a dinsional space and store any items, has proven invaluable. I am most impressed with its craftsmanship and ingenuity.

I am eager to acquire any other interesting artifacts you may have. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have sothing that might pique my interest.

Yours sincerely,

Duke Marveil

---

Her lips curled into a smirk as she finished. "It seems the Duke is quite taken with your enchanted ring—a dinsional storage device—practical and clever. No wonder he's asking for more artifacts. So, what are you planning to offer him next?"

Kael leaned against the desk, arms folded. "That's what I've been pondering. I need to create sothing unprecedented, sothing that's not only valuable but also exclusive. The rarer the artifact, the more significant its worth." His gaze drifted to the window. Outside, the sprawling estate basked in the golden hues of the setting sun.

Keira tapped her chin thoughtfully. "How about an enchanted weapon? Perhaps a sword that channels elental magic or a bow that fires homing arrows?"

Kael shook his head. "Too common. Such items already exist, even if they're rare. I need sothing truly innovative."

As silence settled between them, a soft hooting sound drew their attention. An owl perched on a nearby tree, its golden eyes gleaming in the fading light.

Kael's lips twitched into a smile. "A flying device," he murmured, the idea crystallizing in his mind. "Keira, tell , does any form of air travel exist in the kingdoms beyond?"

Keira frowned, considering the question. "None that I'm aware of. The most advanced modes of transportation we have are carriages for land and ships for the sea. Air travel is... unheard of."

Kael straightened, his smile widening. "Then that's it. We'll create the first aircraft. Imagine the possibilities—speed, mobility, and a strategic advantage in defense. The Duke won't be able to resist."

Keira's eyes widened. "An aircraft? That's... ambitious. Can you really pull it off?"

Kael chuckled. "With magic and the right materials, anything is possible."

He strode to his drafting table, unfurling a fresh sheet of parchnt. As his quill scratched across the surface, Keira hovered nearby, her curiosity getting the better of her.

"What's this?" she asked, leaning over his shoulder.

"I'll na it, Aetherwing Skiff," Kael replied, sketching the outline of the aircraft. "It'll be sleek, lightweight, and entirely magical. No wings, just a streamlined fra enchanted for levitation and propulsion."

Keira's breath hitched as she watched the design take shape. The craft's body was smooth and aerodynamic, with a glass canopy at the front and a reinforced fra made from mythril. It was a vision of elegance and ingenuity.

"This is incredible," she murmured. "How did you even co up with this?"

Kael paused, glancing at her with a sly smile. "Books. Lots of them."

She narrowed her eyes, unconvinced but too enthralled by the design to press further. "How much will it cost to build?"

"Cost isn't an issue," Kael said. "The primary material is Mythril, which we've secured from the Obsidian Cavern. The rest is craftsmanship and enchantnts."

The following day, Kael presented the blueprints to Garrek, the master blacksmith. He kept the full design a secret, only revealing the components that needed forging.

"Hire as many workers as you need," Kael instructed. "If the parts are ready within a month, there'll be a handso bonus."

Garrek's eyes glead with excitent. "Understood, Young Master. We'll get started imdiately."

Weeks passed in a flurry of activity. Garrek and his team worked tirelessly, refining mythril and crafting the intricate components. When the final piece was completed, Kael stored everything in his dinsional space and retreated to his workshop to begin assembly.

Keira watched in awe as Kael pieced together the Aetherwing Skiff. The smooth hull glead under the enchanted lights, and the intricate runes etched into its surface pulsed faintly with mana. She couldn't suppress her admiration.

"You're unbelievable," she said. "This design... it's beyond anything I've ever seen. Even my master, Gideon Grimoire couldn't imagine sothing like this."

Kael laughed. "Let's not give him too much credit."

Once the assembly was complete, Kael set to work enchanting the aircraft. He first inscribed anti-gravity runes along the underside.

With a final flourish, Kael activated the enchantnts. The Aetherwing Skiff humd to life, lifting gently off the ground. Keira gasped as it hovered, its sleek form defying gravity.

Kael climbed aboard, gesturing for Keira to join him. "Let's take it for a spin."

Her knees felt weak as she stepped onto the craft, but she couldn't resist the pull of curiosity. As Kael activated the propulsion system, the Skiff surged forward, cutting through the air with effortless grace.

Keira clutched the edge of her seat, a mix of exhilaration and disbelief coursing through her. "You actually did it," she whispered. "Young master, this is... amazing!."

He smiled, his eyes fixed on the horizon. "I know, right! Let's fly!"

The Skiff soared higher, its shimring fra catching the light of the setting sun. Below, the world stretched out in all its sprawling beauty, unaware of the marvel that now graced its skies.
