??889: Sixth Challenge

889: Sixth Challenge

What Benson did was only in the heat of the mont.

Now that the adrenaline rush was cooled, Benson’s face turned ashen white.

‘What have I done?’ Benson cried silently, his eyes staring at one particular comnt that ca from none other than Dark Night.

Dark Night always kept a low profile, so Benson instantly knew it wasn’t so impostor using the na.

Instead, it was his Team Leader.

However, Dark Night was one thing, the other thing that truly frightened him was Veronica’s questions.

He swallowed a mouthful of saliva, raised his chin up slowly, and gazed at Veronica with a look filled with guilt and fear.

“I-I didn’t an to expose my team’s planning.” Benson stutteringly said.

Well, no shit!

Veronica nearly spat those words aloud.

If it weren’t for the fact that Veronica knew he didn’t intend any harm, then Benson would have been screwed already.

Why would she even bother to question him?

Nevertheless, Benson’s intent might not have been to harm the team, but it remained a fact that he had done it.

“Stay put and close out the stream.

Your punishnt would be decided by Dark Night.” Veronica declared solemnly.

Although she could easily punish him, she wanted to delegate the authority to Dark Night.

After all, an incident like this could only be resolved and let go if it was handled by the direct leadership.

Leadership as in being in authority over them face-to-face and not by another higher-up.

Think of it like a regular employee, supervisor, and then manager.

Manager was two ranks higher than a regular employee, so it would be overboard if the manager needed to personally discipline the regular employee rather than having the supervisor do it.

Of course, this kind of incident would naturally be put on record and Benson’s chance of being promoted beca slim.

Who would want to promote an impulsive person—much less a hopeless simp who could easily expose confidential information in the heat of the mont?

“Benson obeyed the command.” Benson also understood he had ssed up real badly and could only accept Veronica’s arrangent.

As for Kailey, she was rendered speechless at how easily Benson had fallen.

She had anticipated nurous instances where Benson could beco a big competitor against their Star Team.

Yet she had never expected Benson would self implode on himself.

‘Good riddance… it really saved

a lot of headaches.’ Kailey thought to herself, feeling extrely blessed that she was chosen to be on the Star Team and not the Night Team.

While Veronica frowned and felt a bit of a headache regarding Benson’s behavior, back at the secret dungeon, Xu Feng and Carn felt like they had been trapped since forever.

Sixth Challenge, 3F

Upon seeing the poster that indicated 3F, Carn spread her arms out and cried aloud, “Why are we back here again!”

Xu Feng kept quiet, but even he was starting to doubt his morization ability.

Like how could it be possible that they returned to the 3F again right after passing the 4F.

[The colorization of the trinket item was slightly purple and li.

At 4F, the trinket item was only of li color.]

Looking at the system prompt, Xu Feng and Carn were rendered speechless.

Yes, they saw it right.

A small trinket item with only a slight variation of color.

That was the only difference but it was enough to send them back to the 3F.

“Ugh, I knew the sixth challenge wasn’t going to be easy, but they really are pulling all sorts of stunts.” Xu Feng facepald.

He then glanced upward and checked the ti remaining.

Tir: 04:21:10

They have been trapped between the 3F and 4F for approximately 3 hours.

The difficulty between the 1F to 3F was relatively easy to spot, but once it got to 4F, the difficulty spiked up dramatically.

“I’m starting to believe that 5F is going to be even more insane,” Carn comnted, having fully believed Xu Feng’s deduction of the morization being a total of 6F.

If it wasn’t, then this kind of difficulty would be insane to do.

This wasn’t even about being extrely good at morization, but whether you could get lucky or not.

The worst part about this whole ordeal was that even if they believed they spotted a difference, they wouldn’t be able to advance to the next floor unless they provided evidence for the difference.

Of course, they could also ignore the “evidence” requirent.

But once they headed back from where they ca from, the scenario would change completely.

The floor would remain the sa though, forcing them to inspect and scan the area from scratch.

“Welp, nothing much we can do except pray for the better.” Xu Feng exhaled deeply and said, his eyes staring at the divergent paths.

Soon, he counted them and realized it was only 9 divergent paths.

“Seems like we got lucky this ti.” He smiled and pointed out that they could return to 4F imdiately.

After all, there were 10 divergent paths, and not 9 or any other double digits.

10 was the magic number, and it was their most craved abnormality.

Carn nodded her head.

Suddenly, she had a very bold idea.

“Guild Leader… rather than getting trolled by the system.

Why don’t we just keep advancing forward without stopping?” She suggested.

“Keep advancing without stopping?” Dazed, Xu Feng surely had thought about that thod before.

But the chances of them succeeding were less than 1%.

After all, the possibility of success continued to decrease as they advanced in floors.

This was especially true when the System made sure to pull up so ridiculous abnormalities to screw them over.

“We’ve been trapped for over 3 hours already.

I doubt it makes any difference whether we focus or not.” Carn shrugged.

“Since that’s the case, we might as well continue to advance forward while discussing other things.

I’m honestly sick of the statues by now.”

Listening to her subtly complaining about inspecting the sa thing over and over again, Xu Feng was feeling ntally exhausted as well.

Who could endure checking the sa item for 3 hours continuously?
