Chapter 787: Reversal
Glowing and flashy spells illuminated the field. The male players' eyes were bloodthirsty as they continued to launch more and more offensive spells.
There were even so lee ranged classes who wanted to close the gap to strike at Xu Feng, but were unable to.
After all, whenever they got close at a certain proximity, a grenade would be hurled toward them.
Even under the bombardnt, Xu Feng could still hurl grenades accurately at them. This scene alone made Evelyn feel a chill running down her spine.
'How could he still see properly with this much smoke?' She widened her eyes in disbelief. As much as she wanted to concentrate and focus on Xu Feng, it was impossible to see with the piling of dust that continued to build up.
Although she could easily order the people to stop attacking, she dared not relax her guard. She wished to simply slaughter Xu Feng, but it was evident that the mini shield he cast was durable.
"Tanks, continue to charge in, and make sure to buff your defense. As long as your defense is high, the grenade won't be able to one-shot you." Evelyn declared.
Nodding, Vegan Life's Tanks all drank buffing potion and raised their defense and resistance. Afterward, they charged straight ahead, completely ignoring the grenades being hurled at them.
So of them even sneered and tried to deflect it with their shield.
However, upon contact, the grenades would explode and an ice field subsequently filled the ground. The ice field not only slowed the surroundings but even weakened them.
"Damn it, just what kind of grenade is this?"
"Is this even the Divine World or so sort of FPS ga?"
"Why is there such an OP grenade? How co I never saw it available for purchase?"
It didn't take long for the tanks who were rushing in to beco frustrated and displeased by the result.
Not only had they failed to close the distance, but they were also damaged, causing their equipnt durability to drop drastically. Additionally, they looked like a bunch of angry buffalo being toyed around by the person holding the red flag.
"How is this man still hurling grenades? Does he really have as much as he claims?" One of the tanks frustratingly said, unaware that his words just offended soone.
The atmosphere turned awkward, and his fellow tanks seed to start distancing themselves from him.
"Oh, are you saying that Cool Wind really has 60 grenades or so?"
As soon as the tank heard the question, he recognized the voice. Usually, he would have been enchanted, but this ti, he was frightened.
Thankfully, he witnessed another grenade being hurled out, and to avoid dealing with the aftermath. He dashed ahead, and unequipped all his gears, allowing the grenade to kill him.
'Heh, dying here is better than being interrogated.' The tank thought as he plopped to the ground, his health bar went to zero.
The crowd turned silent for a mont. Their expression showed signs of bewildernt, clearly not expecting the tank to rush straight ahead to the grenade.
"What was that tank's na?" Evelyn turned to Xavier and questioned.
"Uhh…" Speechless, Xavier was placed in a dilemma. With all eyes on him, if he chose to reveal the tank's na, then wasn't that equivalent to betraying his fellow guildmates to outsiders?
However, if he chose to conceal it, then wouldn't that displease Evelyn?
By then, the higher-ups would definitely put him up on the chopping board.
"W-What's going on?"
"Why do I feel a sense of dread?"
Thankfully, Xavier's predicant was resolved by an unexpected event.
However, Xavier would rather remain in his predicant than be freed from it.
His eyes quickly darted to the center.
"What kind of other card is this Honorary Elder hiding?" He cried aloud and quickly ordered his people to retreat. When faced with the unknown, it was best to maintain a suitable distance to avoid being implicated.
Unfortunately, the order was too late.
"There's no point." Evelyn suddenly said and grabbed Xavier. In the next instance, she teleported to a faraway distance, only for an illuminating blast to scatter all across the field.
The people who failed to flee in ti and were caught in the range were all obliterated in an instant. So thought they were lucky to still have an immunity spell active to prevent taking any damage. It was just a pity that the illumination lasted way longer than 5 seconds.
Their immunity soon ran out and just like the many others— they t their inevitable demise.
The sudden reversal was a catastrophe for Vegan Life, and Xavier's mouth repeatedly twitched at the baffling scene.
He would have been nuked as well if Evelyn hadn't grabbed him in ti to escape.
"You really can't underestimate the Vanguard Guild." Evelyn knitted her brows and sighed softly. It was a good thing she had remained cautious most of the ti. Otherwise, she would have been killed as well.
"Their taunt and skills are truly next level." She continued, her eyes gazing at the center field.
After the smoke dissipated from the center field, Xu Feng erged. He was completely unhard and unscathed despite their onslaught.
"The Vegan Life is really impressive." Xu Feng suddenly comnted.
"They showcased to
a style of committing suicide in such a grand and glorious manner. I must really praise the Vegan Life Guild and support you."
"..."
Xavier started to fu at the words and nearly wanted to rush out to kill him. Scattered across the now clear field were corpses filled with his guildmates.
"How did he reflect all that damage back at them?" He suppressed his anger and questioned. Naturally, the question wasn't directed at anyone and he rely said that due to his confusion at the developnt.
While Xavier's mind was nearly broken to pieces, Evelyn, on the other, noticed so decayed plants.
'Could it be that those plants had absorbed the bombardnt damage and reflected the damage back to the players?' She wondered silently, feeling that it was quite suspicious of the plant's appearance.
