Chapter 784: Who Asked?
With black and white smoke covering their field of vision, the enemies didn't panic. Rather, they managed to compose themselves swiftly and ordered them to group together.
"Start casting your defensive spell and enlarge the shield. Even if we are temporarily blind, that person is alone and can't do much as long as we focus on defense." Their leader ordered.
It was indeed the wisest choice to remain in place and avoid a confrontation when dealing with an unknown enemy.
However, the leader miscalculated one thing heavily.
Xu Feng had no intention of saving his items this ti. In the next instance, he hurled another 10 Frost Grenades toward the center.
A chain reaction comnced, and their defenses collapsed in an instant.
"How many more powerful grenades does this bastard have?" The leader shouted in disbelief.
Naturally, it wasn't a surprise that these enemies had yet to ever hear about the Frost and Smoke Grenades. They were specially made by the Forgefire Blacksmith, and they could only be purchased with Willowbrook Village rit Coins.
When he first made the transaction, he could only afford 20 Frost Grenades and 10 Smoke Grenades. But that all changed once he established a partnership with them and earned a ton of rit Coins through trading of raw materials.
In hindsight, no one was more wealthy than him in terms of hoarding a bunch of these powerful grenades.
Although it was still expensive to waste this much, Xu Feng had been determined from the start that he would bleed his money in retaliation.
This was not him losing his cool, but an ultimatum he was demonstrating.
He wouldn't have cared much if Carn were to be killed in an open war or hostility. But an ambush, especially when the matter concerned the developnt of the Divine World?
That was sothing Xu Feng refused to comply with. Since these people wanted to cause his plane to beco hellish, then he shall gladly return the favor.
Soti later, with the multiple grenades being thrown over, the enemies were all nuked—unable to do anything from the beginning.
Having confird that there was no one left alive, Xu Feng remained in position. He didn't rush over to check on them, lest the enemies might revive using an item and try to counterattack.
Sure enough, a few seconds later, only one person chose to revive. It was none other than the enemy's leader who had been constantly.
"Hmph, you are quite good. To hurl so many powerful grenades." They started jeering.
"I'm not quite good, but superior to you." Xu Feng sneered. "You waited for the ice field to dissipate before reviving. You must really want revenge, right?"
The enemy purposely made such a statent in the hope of prying for information on how many more grenades he had. However, Xu Feng wasn't going to be generous enough to divulge the amount to him.
"Your confidence and arrogance really knows no bounds. You are worthy of
rembering your na. I'm Reckoner." The leader introduced themselves as Reckoner.
anwhile, Xu Feng remained quiet for a while.
"Who asked?" He subsequently replied and hurled another round of Frost Grenades.
Dumbfounded, the Reckoner's mouth twitched in disbelief, his eyes staring at the grenades floating in the sky. He wanted to quickly defend himself but realized it was futile. Even if he used the immunity spell, Xu Feng had another grenade in his hand.
'Where did this bastard co from? His inventory is full of these grenades!' Reckoner cursed silently.
In the next mont, Reckoner accepted his fate and got killed again.
Since he was killed at almost the sa ti, the penalty doubled and Reckoner refused to revive himself again. Based on the person's cold remark and response, it was obvious that he could only investigate the intruder through another thod.
He didn't introduce himself out of respect, but rely because he wanted to lower their guard and make them reveal their identity.
Of course, Xu Feng didn't think much of Reckoner's intention and rely wanted to finish him off quickly.
Shortly after Reckoner's body vanished, it ant that he had given up trying to revive through items or another player's revive skill.
'Reckoner…not a single clue. Probably an extra who would disappear through the passage of ti.' Xu Feng sneered inwardly and looted the items.
By now, Xu Feng strongly suspected that the fight was ongoing in the city itself—especially with how few people were actually guarding the entrance.
As he proceeded forward, there were no more obstruction, and soon he arrived at the Watchtower #5.
Watchtower #5 showed signs of being damaged by the player's spells, but what caught his attention was the location of the destruction.
It was in the interior, and no one was allowed to go there without authorization. After all, the Watchtowers were critical points in overseeing the battlefield and effectively communicating with others on where the defenses were faltering.
The gaze in his eyes gradually turned fiercer by the second.
Indeed, soone within the alliance secretly cooperated with the enemies.
And his so-called exorbitant tactic to force them to not attempt anything funny, given the losses would have been massive, had failed miserably.
Whatever it was, the enemies' offer must be high enough for them to forgo everything and make a horrible mistake.
'If you can still remain in the Divine World, then I will disband my guild.' Xu Feng exhaled coolly and advanced further. As he was about to approach the city's gate, he nearly laughed aloud at the people in front of him.
"Only 5 people ca to welco ?" Xu Feng smirked. From afar, he could witness the battle inside the city still happening.
This ant that Gentle Wind and Herald Fist must have already gone to assist Carn.
Since Carn didn't indicate any offline status and was just grayed out in the party list. It should an that she must have either been revived or waiting to be revived. The only reason why there was no change must be due to the interference in transmission within the city.
