Chapter 716: How Co It’s You
Within Star Falls City, there was a level leaderboard where all players could join in voluntarily to display their levels.
And she was one of those who displayed her level on the recomndation of Xu Feng to act as a deterrent for those who wanted to be hostile to them.
Of course, that kind of deterrent barely did much, considering many players still had the mindset that superior numbers were guaranteed victory.
However, that was no longer the priority now that Carn was enlightened about Xu Feng's reaching level 35.
"Guild Leader, why didn't you join the level leaderboard as well?" Carn pursed her lips and complained. Clearly, she was pouting why she had to reveal her status to be a deterrent when he was obviously the better candidate.
"What kind of Guild Leader reveals their status for others to see?" Xu Feng shrugged in response.
"Besides, the level leaderboard is basically pointless now." He continued, reminding Carn to opt out of the leaderboard.
Previously, the leaderboard was important to highlight their guild's strength and a way to advertise to other players to join.
That was the main reason why Xu Feng suggested to Carn to reveal her level. But now that everyone already understood what kind of strength the Vanguard Guild held, there was no longer a need for Carn to reveal her level.
In fact, now was the best ti for Carn to conceal her status to ensure nobody could tell what her current level was.
"Tsk, then are you really level 35?" Carn clicked her tongue and quickly opted out of the level leaderboard.
Almost imdiately, players who were tasked to spy and gather information in Star Falls City were dumbfounded by Carn's disappearance from the list.
"Crap, Lunar Wraith opted out of the level leaderboard."
"She was level 35 and already t the requirent to advance to the next zone. The others need to start catching up in levels."
"Ugh, don't tell
the Vanguard Guild will take the lead again this ti?"
Chaos erupted in Star Falls City from a simple action by Carn, but the main culprit herself remained unaware of the damage she had done.
Instead, she began strolling around the streets of the town, only to be utterly disappointed.
"Is this really a completed Town or so ghost Town?" Carn held a dazed expression when she realized everything was empty.
Sure, there were buildings, but everything inside was hollow with zero furniture or NPC inside. Hell, there wasn't even anyone around them.
"And why are these plots empty? Are we going to use them to cultivate so herbs for your herbalism and alchemy?" She then pointed at multiple empty plots, and so of them were at a pri location.
"Why are you acting like that?" anwhile, Xu Feng was rather curious about her behavior. Even if she had doubts, she wasn't the type to be this expressive, especially not when she had been experienced at nurous events already.
"Oh, I thought you wanted a reaction feed." Startled, Carn returned to her usual composure and questioned. "Didn't you want to use my popularity and reaction to entice viewers to migrate to this town?"
"..."
Xu Feng was rendered speechless. Indeed, he had plans to do that, but not until the town was fully operational. Right now, only the construction was completed, but there were more things to do.
Firstly, he needed to establish the Town Hall and hire relevant people and guards. Secondly, he needed to improve the defense of the town.
After all, this was no longer the jurisdiction of the Aetheria Empire, but a jurisdiction of his own. In other words, everything was his problem now starting from the town's safety to the town's defense, and the town's operation.
Everything required money and more money.
"I would like your reaction when I open this town to the public. For now, we have to work hard to get everything working." Xu Feng explained, informing Carn how much work they had to do.
And almost imdiately, Carn raised her chin up, acting as if she had been enlightened by sothing amazing.
She then clasped her hands and exclaid, "Ah right, Veronica ntioned the work was too much for her, so she wanted my help. I should return and assist her, lest she might quit the guild from being overworked."
With that said, she retrieved the Town Token and attempted to click on the Return button, only to be faced with a system prompt.
System: The Town Owner has disabled the Town Token function, so the Return feature could not be used. Please try again later or consult with the Town Owner!
"..."
Stunned, Carn twitched her brows and slowly turned to Xu Feng, who had an overly friendly smile hanging on his face.
"You can't do
dirty like this, Guild Leader," Carn said in a coy and pitiful tone.
"Well, bla yourself for fast leveling to 35. Nobody can co here until they reach level 35 anyway, so you're destined to be my helper." Xu Feng put on a cool expression and explained. It wasn't that he wanted to be cruel, but he truly had no one else eligible for help.
"No, I don't care. You told
I had the freedom to do whatever when you recruited . This is not the promise I signed up for!" Carn pouted and even laid her back on the ground, kicking her legs up and down.
"Okay, stop pouting. You're not going to be working this alone."
"You do not count, Guild Leader." She held a fierce glare at him.
"Then who counts?" He inquired.
"Anyone but you. And they must also be soone I acknowledge and approve of." Carn demanded and flashed a wicked grin. From her knowledge, nobody in the guild was at level 35. As for her fellow Guild Commander, she would just outright ban him if Xu Feng attempted to drag him over.
"I see… then this'll work." Xu Feng smirked and clapped his hands. "You can co out now."
Astonished, Carn's eyes widened in disbelief when she noticed a person coming out from the Town Hall.
"How co it's you!" Her mouth left agape when she realized who it was.
"Why couldn't it be ?" The person who ca out of the Town Hall sneered and turned to Xu Feng. "I hope you're not trying to have her judge whether I'm qualified or not.
"Haha, of course not, Crimson Heart. You're now the official Engineer and Blacksmith of my Vanguard Guild." Xu Feng chuckled softly.
