this ti?" Jessica asked once she noticed Xu Feng's silence. "If you want to ask about the town at Twilight Glades, then it's still under construction or if you want to talk about the guild residence, then it would be done in 1-2 days from now."
Feeling sowhat guilty, Xu Feng flashed an awkward smile and shook his head. He didn't need to co here to check on the status when it was already listed in his system interface.
'Ugh, if I do tell her it, then I'm going to have to deal with a troubleso scene.' Xu Feng knew exactly the type of reaction that one would face if they triggered soone in Jessica's current state.
Finally, an enlightennt ca in and Xu Feng found the perfect scapegoat to bla.
Without further ado, he retrieved the Lockdown Order Field and placed it on the table.
anwhile, Jessica's eyes widened in shock, her lifeless and exhausted expression seed to undergo a fierce change.
"T-This mana…" She stuttered in disbelief as she recognized the mana was very familiar to a certain figure. It was a figure whom even her manager and boss, Howard, would be treating carefully.
Nevertheless, she shook her head and quickly denied the possibility.
"Hah, did you pick these stones from elsewhere— possibly during the monster waves invasion?" She questioned in amusent, almost as if she wanted him to answer yes.
Unfortunately, the brutal reality shattered her completely to the core when Xu Feng had zero intention of giving her so fantasy.
"No, these stones were embedded by our City Magistrate, Magnus." Xu Feng responded and continued, "The City Magistrate assigned
a task and even sent
here with his powerful magic. So with great reluctance, I can only do what the City Magistrate wants if I wish to continue my peaceful life in the city."

It was as if her soul had left her body, Jessica nearly slumped to the floor, unable to utter a single sound.
Her mouth was left agape and if one had a great imagination. They could see a ghost-like figure escaping from her open mouth.
"T-The City Magistrate sent you here huh…" Jessica said in a bittersweet tone. Nothing was more depressing than having a superior dumping more work on you.

Well, unless one wished to lose their job, then their only option was to suck it up and accept the situation.
"There's no need to sulk that much." Xu Feng suddenly mused and explained, "The task isn't that difficult. All you need to do is help
post a quest in the adventure quest bulletin board."
"Eh, that's it?" Startled, Jessica's eyes widened.
"All I need to do is put a post on the bulletin board?" She asked in disbelief. Without a doubt, this kind of task was too simple. In fact, it was so easy as well that she beca more suspicious rather than at ease.
"Of course, it's that simple but I'm positive that you would want to do more." Xu Feng smirked and proceeded to explain the reason behind the post.
Sure enough, Jessica seed to have undergone nirvana upon realizing the situation.
"Heh, you should have said that from the start." She exclaid with a vibrant expression. "Rest assured, I'll ensure you get talented individuals to sign up."
Having realized the post was a recruitnt of war against Skyland City who had partaken in the siege to ruin her city. There was no way Jessica would opt out of such an event.
How dare these ruffians try to destroy the work she had done in the past years!
Just like that, Jessica quickly had the recruitnt quest posted in the bulletin board and assigned so of her subordinates to promote and advertise it heavily.
Very soon, news of the recruitnt quest began to circulate among Star Falls City players before it branched out to elsewhere.
"It seems like Vanguard Guild was taking the initiative this ti."
"Hah, who wouldn't be infuriated to be repeatedly targeted?"
"I bet MIST must now be punching the air in anger and frustration. Their elites were taken as hostages and their allies were having it worse from other guilds."
The Ga Forum soon exploded in fervor, with the top trending keyword search being Guild War, Vanguard Guild, and MIST.
Additionally, this could be considered the first-ever guild war since the transition from town to city.
Skyland City, Skyride Hotel
At Skyride Hotel, nurous players with the MIST emblem attached to their chests gathered in the lobby.
Many held worried and anxious expressions, with only a few people seated at the main center being solemn.
"Elders, the eting for today does not need
to explain, right?" A young man with a rifle wrapped around his back exclaid solemnly. He was of a Gunner Class, and the acting guild leader of MIST, Tyler.
As the Heir of MIST Group, he was entrusted to manage the guild by the President, but so far, there had yet to be any fruitful result.
But that wasn't even the worst part, given their expedition not only failed miserably. They must now also face the wrath of the Vanguard Guild's retaliation.
