Outskirts of Star Falls City
While Carn was busy attending to Xu Feng's alternate persona, the current situation in the outskirts of the city was filled with malicious and insidious players.
"Report, there have been no sightings as of yet for Lunar Wraith!"
"Reporting, aside from no sighting of Lunar Wraith, the Vanguard Guild's other higher-ups don't seem to be present!"
Nurous reports ca flooding in, informing them of the whereabouts of the Vanguard Guild mbers.
The most active reports that arrived were those from MIST with their operating base located in Skyland City.
"Hmph, it's about ti that arrogant Vanguard Guild got a taste of their own dicine!" One of MIST Guild Commanders, PotionHoarder exclaid. He was a level 31 Arcane Mage, and one of the unfortunate victims of Carn's previous action.
"Since Lunar Wraith isn't sighted, then it's safe to say she had abandoned the city! Hah, serve her right!" PotionHoarder continued, clearly feeling exhilarated at the current plight the Vanguard Guild was facing.
His enthusiasm and hatred, or maybe obsession with Lunar Wraith made the others beco curious.
"Do you know why the Guild Commander is behaving like that?" One of the unaware MIST mbers asked their companion.
"Right, you were offline when the massacre happened." Their companion shook their head and said his luck was rather great. "When Lunar Wraith ca to our city and caused mayhem in our guild, the commander suffered the most. He was repeatedly killed and targeted by Lunar Wraith because he stashed up a lot of potions."
"Ah, Commander PotionHoarder does have a habit of hoarding a ton of useful potions." Realization quickly dawned upon the mbers who were absent from the massacre.
They might not know much of the scene, but based on their companions and how the guild's atmosphere changed from that day. They were able to tell just how devastating and humiliating the damages were.
Not to ntion, information about the victims— especially those who got hit the hardest was considered taboo to be discussed. Your journey continues at My Virtual Library Empire
Of course, there were exceptions such as today, in which they wished their guild's morale to be raised to the maximum. And what better way was there to raise them than to let them know what they had suffered?
Such a move was equivalent to invoking patriotism deep inside their heart for the guild and to pinpoint a common enemy that they must eradicate!
"Enough chattering!" PotionHoarder suddenly shouted.
Sure enough, the chattering quickly dispelled, with none of them daring to talk again unless it was soone who returned with new reports.
However, almost everyone knew the reason why PotionHoarder reacted in such a manner.
Who wouldn't be infuriated if their humiliation was constantly being discussed?
'If Lunar Wraith has given up the city, then they're as good as dead!' PotionHoarder gnashed his teeth. Of all the people in the Vanguard Guild that he was wary of, only Lunar Wraith fit the list.
As for their Guild Leader, everyone already knew he was just a healer.
What could a healer possibly do against a siege of 20,000 players?
The Lethal Corp incident had already given them a heads-up that NPCs could be hired. Therefore, in this siege alone, aside from the 20,000 players, another 1,000 NPCs were hired as well.
Of course, the cost of doing so was extrely high, but MIST and the other cooperated guilds were willing to gamble to eradicate the Vanguard Guild once and for all.
This was what happened when one guild shone brighter than every other guild but had no legitimate background or foundation known.
Since nurous investigations were done and no news had stated the Vanguard Guild was operated by so top conglorates. It was safe to say that this was just an unknown upstart guild.
Right at this mont, another player returned, their expression filled with excitent.
"Report, the monster wave had officially entered into combat with the Star Falls City NPCs! The fight is extrely chaotic and there is still no defense shown by the Vanguard Guild!"
"Hahaha, the monsters are already engaged with the NPCs but the guild remains idle still?" PotionHoarder laughed rrily.
As he stepped forward and took the center platform to gather everyone's attention, he proceeded to clear his throat.
"Everyone, the Vanguard Guild has been way too arrogant so today marks the end of their arrogance! The NPCs must be too busy dealing with the monsters, so now it's ti we can wreak havoc in their businesses and slaughter them openly!" He announced loudly.
Although it remained a fact that the system itself would protect the stores of player-owned, that was only under the condition that the city wasn't under siege or attacked. For a city to be labeled as under siege or attacked, there must be a system broadcast of the said city being so.
And just now, PotionHoarder received news from the spies that they had received the system notification.
With everything fallen in place, PotionHoarder thus announced the siege to begin.
As for why they hadn't resided in the city from the beginning to make things easier, the reason was simple. If they were there during the city notification, then they were automatically assigned the side of the defender.
In other words, they can't even do damage or harm to the city itself due to the defender status.
"Let's advance now and take the city for ourselves afterward!" PotionHoarder declared.
Soon after, a wave of players started to rush ahead, each one of them equipped with decent equipnt and ready to spill blood on the battlefield.
And with their sheer numbers alone, it naturally attracted attention from lots of spectators and those who chose to stay neutral.
The current scene was stread by nurous known strears, who were more or less excited about the outco.
The Ga Forum at this mont also exploded with nurous posts regarding the MIST and other guilds movent against the Vanguard Guild.
What made them more surprised was the inaction of Heaven's Destiny, who chose to remain absolutely neutral.
