As Carn revealed that the Guild Leader had already returned two days ago, elsewhere, there was Xu Feng, who stood at a tall place and admired the scenery beneath.
There was a change of aura that shrouded him, giving others a mysterious yet dangerous feeling.
"Phew, when people say high risk cos with high reward. They really weren't kidding but once you lose the gamble, then it will be the end." Xu Feng exhaled deeply, his mind slowly recalling his plight back at Planet Zaun and how he passed the Origin Trial.
Two Days Ago, Origin Trial- Planet Zaun
After escaping from the clutches of the Carnivorous Plant, Xu Feng noticed sothing was abnormal.
"Wait a second…" he murmured, having recalled his previous words and actions.
He recalled having a few bites from the canned food earlier to regain his satiety, but during that seemingly peaceful mont, his mind seed to beco possessed.
He started referring to himself as fake Mike but his actual identity was Michael from the start. However, he beca convinced that he was no longer a Cleric Trainee, but rather a Reconnaissance Trainee and that he would get revenge on Ryan.
His thought process was a complete ss, filled with many fabricated and mixed mories between Michael and Mike.
Yet none of those mories were about the real him: Xu Feng or even his alias, Lin Feng or Cool Wind. Had it not been for the sudden jolt, Xu Feng would have still been trapped in that confusing identity crisis.
Identity crisis…
"Right, that's it." Xu Feng's eyes widened as he finally realized a big puzzle that he failed to notice from the start. Back when he was still in the isolated area and conversing with Engineer Cole, the latter had ntioned that he was tasked to install so equipnt.
And with Cole's rank, who could order him to do such a task while having all data and information hidden in the Battleship Lux's database?
As Xu Feng continued to recollect the chain of events that had occurred, which followed with Aera's being labeled as a traitor, and Harvey's inaction to it.
Everything started to fall in place once he recalled the Carnivorous Plant and how there were so missing leaves in the vines. Additionally, the spores that were capable of laying and affecting even his mindset, Xu Feng ca to understand what he was supposed to do as a Cleric.
"The commander of the Battleship Lux… he's been compromised." He uttered, his eyes staring back at the far distant Battleship Lux which should have landed by now.
From the very beginning, it was never about creating so bioweapon or claiming ownership of Battleship Lux.
Everything was faux from the start!
In fact, it was the commander who had been compromised with his mind now completely taken over by whatever parasite or thing that affected one mind that wanted to entrap everyone from the battleship.
Battleship Lux left Planet Zaun not to restock on supplies, but rather the Commander realized it was beyond their capability and tried to order a retreat. However, midway through, his mind was taken over, which resulted in the change of flight path to return to Planet Zaun.
Those who remained unaware were naturally clueless and just went on with their usual duties, but as for those who were involved directly or indirectly. And regardless if they knew what really occurred or not, they were all effectively eliminated by the now-compromised commander to ensure nothing would leak.
'I need to capture this carnivorous plant…' Xu Feng narrowed his eyes and began orchestrating a plan to get rid of the carnivorous plant.
Thankfully, he already knew what to do. He removed his outer layer of clothes, which was coated with the spores' fragrance scent.
Afterward, he started to grapple around the nurous tree branches, his eyes on the Holo-Mapper to search for the previous monster who devoured the dangerous tendrils as a snack.
"Where is he?" He murmured, taking a few minutes before finally spotting the target.
The monster seed to be chomping on so normal leaves, clearly irritated that it failed to find any decent food.
Suddenly, the monster's movent paused, turned around, and glared fiercely at Xu Feng. Its eyes narrowed coldly, almost as if it had the intention of asking why Xu Feng ca back.
Just because it wasn't interested in him earlier, didn't an it was going to allow him to do whatever he pleased.
Feeling the cold killing intent, Xu Feng managed to compose his emotions.
Taking a deep breath, Xu Feng threw his outer clothes toward the monster, alarming them.
It growled thunderously and was about to charge after him for the disrespectful action.
However, the fragrance scent from the outer clothes started to enter the monster's nose, causing them to pause and glance at the clothes. It slowly walked toward the clothes and gave it a quick sniff.
Instantly, its mouth began drooling in saliva, completely drenching the clothes.
Although the sight was very unsightly, Xu Feng remained unaffected and said, "I know where this monster is."
The monster tilted their head, seemingly confused by the words.
With their communication lacking severely, Xu Feng pointed at the clothes and then proceeded to point in another direction— the place where the carnivorous plant was camping for prey.
"Delicious plants, over there." Xu Feng called out, trying to simplify his words.
It took a few tries, but the monster seed to comprehend his aning once it sniffed the plants and then glanced in the direction that Xu Feng pointed.
The monster made a cold snort and licked its mighty tongue, his hoof stomping on the ground excitedly.

Afterward, it turned to Xu Feng and made a sound, seemingly signaling for him to be the guide.
Nodding, Xu Feng quickly grappled and began returning to where he ca from. anwhile, the monster followed behind closely, its nose constantly sniffing to ensure Xu Feng wasn't playing a trick.
'Phew, it really is a vegan monster.' Xu Feng breathed a sigh of relief, having succeeded in his gamble.
