Trust was usually a fickle word that could easily be manipulated and used by others with insidious intentions.

However, there were so exceptions to the word Trust, and Xu Feng had long known that a single individual couldn't do much without the work of others.

Therefore, he chose to believe in the fickle word, Trust, until the other side betrayed that Trust and used it against him.

"I trust you, Carn, so I won't question your opinion or action." Xu Feng responded and permitted her to implent her friend, Veronica, to beco a manager.

Feeling grateful for his trust, who didn't even bother to question or doubt her judgnt, Carn clenched her fist and nodded her head.

"Yes, Guild Leader. I'm sure Veronica won't let you down." She vouched heavily for her friend.

And she continued, "By the way, since you would be absent for a while and the auction can't be delayed any longer. Can I have Veronica be in charge of it? I will be by her side to supervise in case anything happens though."

A mont of silence occurred as Xu Feng didn't make any response for a whopping minute. At that minute, it seed like she was a defendant who was awaiting the verdict from the jury and judge.

It felt like an eternity, but Carn finally received the verdict, albeit one that was a completely unexpected response.

"Carn, maybe you should go to the hospital and do a checkup. Your mory is worse than a goldfish." Xu Feng teased and waved his hands.

"I've already said you have that privilege, so why bother informing

about your plan and just go for it. Didn't you go and commit a massacre at Skyland City without permission?" He reminded her and effectively ended the call.

As the video call screen turned black, Carn, who was seated on the chair at the top floor of the Vanguard Shop, was dumbfounded by the remarks.

She felt complicated, but at the sa ti, her heart seed like it was about to lt. This was mainly because of how Xu Feng truly acted on his words without going back on them.

Nurous tis, she had been praised for her work, and how the boss said they trusted her. Yet when it ca to a serious situation, they either doubted her or outright refused to trust her, essentially making her wonder if she was really being trusted or not.

'He didn't even question my plan once.' Carn flashed a genuine smile and was grateful for Xu Feng's unquestionable trust in her.

A second later, the NPC, Monica, who was placed in charge of the Vanguard Shop's activities, entered and inford her. "Lady Lunar Wraith, a person going by Vortex Viper claiming to be your companion, has arrived and is waiting downstairs."

"Oh, you can bring them up. She's going to be a heavy asset for the Vanguard Shop." Carn snapped out of her daze and responded.

The fact that NPCs could behave and act so human-like was still quite shocking to her. After all, there were tis when she thought Monica was a player disguised as an NPC.

But it beca pretty clear that Monica was indeed an NPC when she brought up the topic of Ga Forum or in-ga nas which she had no idea what it was. Of course, it could be an act, but when she offered her sothing exclusively to players, she was unable to use it.

As Monica exited the office to bring up her companion, Carn ca to realize that NPC played an extrely critical part in the Divine World.

'No wonder the Guild Leader paid such a high salary for Razor and Brutus. If these NPCs could be cultivated and have a loyalty bar, then our guild's overall power is immaculate.' She thought to herself, trying her best to study the chanics of the Divine World in terms of managing and strategizing.

Although she planned on delegating most of the work to Veronica, she still wanted to learn more to help lessen the workload from Xu Feng.

Just based on his days of absence, had nearly caused the Vanguard Guild to beco disabled, said a lot of the structure.

It looked mysterious, domineering, and overpowering on the surface, but the actual core inside was filled with flaws. Stay tuned for updates on My Virtual Library Empire

Sighing softly, Veronica soon arrived at the office thanks to the guidance of Monica.

"Woah, this is an office?" Veronica's eyes widened in surprise at the space and decoration here. "This is even better than the Boss office at LTG Digital Marketing."

"Hehe, I'm glad you're srized with the office." Carn giggled and waved her hand, signaling for Monica to return to her work.

Monica nodded and bowed before exiting silently.

anwhile, Carn stood up and began wrapping her arm around Veronica's shoulder. "Do you think we need to do anything else with this office?"

"What do you an?" Confused, Veronica knitted her brows. "This office is decorated nicely and I can't see the need to add more."

"Oh, then what about this chair?" Carn guided her to the office desk and pulled the chair.

As Veronica sat down, she leaned backward, completely relaxed. "Oh, this chair is comfortable and nice."

"Great, then I must congratulate you, Veronica." Clasping her hands, Carn smiled brightly as she explained. "The Guild Leader has just inford

that you are hereby promoted as a Manager for the Vanguard Guild and are responsible for the upcoming auction."

Still in her chair, Veronica's relaxed expression quickly turned ashen white. She was dumbfounded and stupefied by the impromptu announcent of a promotion.

"Eh?"

A few minutes went by and Veronica soon ca back to her senses. She quickly stood up and stepped away from the chair, shaking her head repeatedly. "No no no, I cannot handle such a big operation. I'm going to fail and disappoint the Guild Leader."

"Ah, is that so?" Carn rubbed her chin softly and smirked. "But you just inspected the office and even the chair, saying it's good. Yet you're rejecting the notion now. Are you saying that the Vanguard Guild is lacking or you don't care for the Guild Leader?"

"Carn you—" Astounded, Veronica pointed at her and was extrely baffled, feeling betrayed by her friend.
