Amidst Xu Feng's deadly aura bursting forward and nearly dominating the entire battlefield, only Zhao Kai resisted the pressure as he dashed toward Xu Feng.
Since Xu Feng was currently in an enraged mode despite his expression on the surface remaining unchanged, the Aura of Fear was active to all regardless of foes or allies. Explore more at My Virtual Library Empire
Each step felt like he was being pressed by a heavy boulder, but Zhao Kai gnashed his teeth and finally reached Xu Feng.
As he extended his hand and placed it on Xu Feng's shoulder, he smiled bitterly. "Hey, Feng, are you trying to kill your Guild Commander here with your aura?"
Feeling the warm hand touching his shoulder, Xu Feng finally paid a little attention to the other surroundings. After all, he had only been perceiving DeathLingers as the enemy, and the other mbers were basically cleared.
Not to ntion, with Zhao Kai and Carn present, along with his pet, Flint hidden in the Pet Space, he wasn't worried about a backstab.
Thus, he failed to realize the extent of his Aura of Fear as he calmly retracted it from pressuring the others, with the exception of the Cursed Gargoyles and DeathLingers.
Shortly after managing the effect of his skill, Xu Feng turned to Zhao Kai and asked in an amused tone, "Why would I be killing my Guild Commander? You still have a lot of work to do, so how could I let you die that easily?"
Having heard that he was teasing, Zhao Kai finally breathed a sigh of relief.
There had only been one ti that he had seen Xu Feng reacting this fiercely and overwhelmingly.
It was the day when soone called him a stinky orphan. Not only that, but they went even further, claiming he was abandoned because he was trash and completely talentless and that their parents were imnsely disgusted by his re presence.
That was the day when Xu Feng lost his composure and severely thrashed the person, hospitalizing them and nearly going to jail in the process had it not been for his pleas to his eldest sister to salvage the matter.
"Take a breather, Feng." Zhao Kai was horrified when recalling that incident which never occurred again when Xu Feng learned that losing his composure was a foolish manner.
"I am fine, Shadow Blade." Xu Feng chuckled softly, not even bother reprimanding Zhao Kai for addressing him as Feng rather than Raid Leader or Guild Leader.
"As if I'll believe you." Zhao Kai rolled his eyes and gently pushed him to the side, putting himself in the middle between them.
Once he stood in between them, Zhao Kai's carefree expression turned extrely cold when he shifted his gaze at DeathLingers.
'This little bastard nearly cost
to lose my buddy again?' Zhao Kai cackled nacingly as he beckoned for Veronica to co forward.
Confused by the gesture, Veronica glanced at her friend, Carn, who simply nodded in response.
Although she couldn't completely comprehend the situation, she more or less knew sothing severe must have occurred. At the sa ti, she finally started to realize the importance and significance of Zhao Kai within the guild.
Other than him, she found it hard to co up with another person who could snap Xu Feng out of his frightening state.
Having approached them in a cautious manner, Veronica wondered why Zhao Kai beckoned for her. "Is there sothing you need from ?"
Zhao Kai's cold gaze returned to normal when facing Veronica.
"Yes, since you're the Guild Commander's friend and the lowest level among us. I believe the experience points of killing DeathLingers shall be granted to you alone." He said in an almost nonchalant and casual tone, taking Veronica completely by surprise.
Her eyes were widened and she depicted a baffled expression. She almost couldn't believe these words were coming out of Zhao Kai's mouth rather than Xu Feng's.
And before she could even respond, Zhao Kai waved his hands at Carn, who had been silently spectating.
"Guild Commander Lunar Wraith, can you check in on the Raid Leader and make sure he doesn't exhaust himself for such a terrifying aura unleashed. Knock so sense to him and have him use that aura to quickly finish off the Gargoyles."
Baffled, Carn paused for a second before nodding and rushing to Xu Feng.
"Co, let's not waste that cooldown aura of yours." Carn practically held him by the arm and dragged him away.
"Eh, but I'm seriously fine though." Xu Feng chuckled in amusent at her action.
Alas, Carn was more positive that sothing was truly amiss. The usual Xu Feng wouldn't even bother saying that he was calm. He was the type to act rather than speak so flowery prose.
If he was seriously fine, then he wouldn't have heavily emphasized that he was.
As Xu Feng helplessly assisted the rest in battling the Gargoyles, the other mbers were clever enough to not discuss what just happened earlier.
Not even Iceheart, who had been waiting for an opportunity to taunt or tease Xu Feng back for the humiliation he had done to her.
Without a doubt, everyone learned sothing important today. There was another side of Xu Feng that when unleashed, death wasn't even an option.
'I must report this back to the Guild Leader and warn them not to provoke the Vanguard Guild.' Iceheart and Ardent Lance thought to themselves, having unraveled an astounding secret.
'I've heard that the Raid Leader is just a proxy and that there's another mysterious individual behind the curtain. Just how terrifying is that mysterious individual?' SilentWhisper furrowed her brows as sweat unconsciously began to drip from her forehead.
Not to ntion her, even Steelshot's fearfulness of Xu Feng had increased by a huge leap.
He patted his chest lightly and thanked his blessing. 'Luckily I was only kicked back then to beco bait.'
While everyone was having mixed emotions, Zhao Kai's voice resounded on the battlefield after giving DeathLingers a fatal blow, aiming precisely at his critical flesh points.
"Now, Vortex Viper, you can just smack his face with your staff and he will receive his first death." Zhao Kai clasped his hands and declared.
