And surprisingly, Zhao Kai was rather relaxed as he crossed his arms, even taking this opportunity to walk toward Xu Feng and whispered, "Do you want to make a bet?"
"A bet?" Confused, Xu Feng didn't know what he was up to again. Though it was definitely not sothing good considering his records.
Sure enough, Zhao Kai rubbed his hands deviously and said, "Let's have a bet whether Vortex Viper could succeed in one try or not."
"Okay, I bet she'll succeed. Lunch and dinner are your treat once the raid is over." Xu Feng readily placed his bet and ntioned the winner's rewards.
Instantly, Zhao Kai frowned and gnashed his teeth. "No, I bet first and then you."
"Too bad, so sad." Xu Feng shrugged and smirked. "Ever heard of first co first serve? I was first in betting, so prepare for your wallet to burst open."
Infuriated, Zhao Kai raised his hands with his palms open, almost as if he wanted to strangle Xu Feng alive.
"There's no way you know the secret when you weren't even here during our conversation." Zhao Kai muttered, keeping his voice to a bare minimum so as to not disturb Veronica.
Of course, if he did disturb her, then he would have won the bet almost instantaneously, but that goes against his principles.
Not to ntion, he beca rather friendly with Veronica during their conversation, so only a real villain would commit such an act.
"I might not know the secret, but knowing you cheapskate…" Xu Feng trailed off and glanced at him. "There's no way you would suddenly co up to

However, her gaze was more fixated on Zhao Kai rather than Xu Feng.
Stupefied, Zhao Kai remained speechless, unable to muster any response.
Contrary to Zhao Kai, Xu Feng was rather quick in pushing the bla as he pointed at Zhao Kai. "He started it."

Before Zhao Kai could finish his words, he felt a dreadful pressure imposed on him. With a bitter smile, he tilted his head slightly, and lo and behold, Carn's eyes seed to be sending daggers straight at him.
He shuddered before keeping his mouth shut and lowered his head in disbelief. 'This biased treatnt is so bullshit!'
While Zhao Kai sulkingly cursed Xu Feng from the back of his head, Veronica began panting.
Despite her panting, one could hear her muttering.
"Just a few more rotations…" Veronica murmured and retrieved a Mana Recovery Potion.
After swiftly consuming it, she increased her mana load and soon, a click could be heard.
Following after was a small rumbling sound that gradually increased.
"Everyone move away from the area now!" Xu Feng declared and rushed toward the exhausted Veronica, dragging her to safety.
Once everyone was out of the way, they quickly turned their attention to the engraving.
The engraving was now etched deep into the circular ground and began to glow with a brightening light.
Soon, the glowing lines expanded in brightness and reached the circumference linings. The engraving picture started to split apart and retracted as an unseen layer began to reveal itself— a gaping void that seed to be filled with nothing but darkness.
Amidst the developnt, Xu Feng only had one statent. "Whoever designs this kind of chanism needs to get a life and so help!"
