Initially confused, Veronica furrowed her brows, seemingly trying to ponder where Avalon City was located.
"Did another city ascend to the first-grade?" Veronica questioned, finding it baffling that such a news sohow went over her scope.
Any city that earned its ascension to another grade was major news, especially when it was a newly ascended first-grade city. One could think of it as a company going into the public listing, but multiply that by 100 tis.
That was how big the scale was going to be, so to remain in the dark despite such an event ant that one wasn't even living under the rock, but they weren't even living anymore. Explore new worlds at empire
anwhile, Carn was rendered speechless by Veronica's narrowed scope and mindset.
Maybe because she had never visited any city lower than second-grade that prompted her to believe she was going to a first-grade city. After all, she did reject her suggestion of checking out the new sweets and coffee shop.
"You're mistaken, Veronica." Carn smiled bitterly. "Avalon City is a third-grade city, and I'm visiting there for a proper eting."
Since she was going to et her guild leader to discuss the future aspect of the Vanguard guild, then it was considered a proper eting in her mind.
"What proper eting can there be if you are required to go to a third-grade city?" Baffled, Veronica found her to be more and more foreign.
Just previously, she was infuriated by her ghosting again, but then she arrived and then helped her level up.
During the grinding process, Carn's fighting skills were over the top, stunning her every ti she made a move.
She was like an expert, to say the least.
Additionally, albeit very briefly, she sensed so sadistic nature from Carn, who was rather ruthless and shrewd in certain aspects.
'Is she really Carn or an imposter?' Veronica wondered silently.
She bit her lips softly before asking, "Carn, do you rember the ti when I was assigned a project to market for Delta Entertainnt. I asked you to help
with…"
As she trailed off from there without finishing the question, Carn was rendered speechless.
Without a doubt, Veronica was suspecting her if she was a fake, otherwise, she wouldn't have asked such a question in which only they would know.
"I helped you with the art concept and found an artist willing to help increase the greatness of your marketing vision. It beca a huge success and you were granted a huge bonus. You then treated
to a Skyler Restaurant as thanks." Carn rambled on and on regarding what they did.
Every detail was precise, so Veronica smiled embarrassingly.
"Haha, I guessed you do rember." She chuckled softly, clearly hoping to laugh it off.
Carn pursed her lips, "Anyway, I'm going to log out now. I already booked a plane ticket and it's just right that the Divine World would be undergoing an update."
"Wait a sec—"
Before Veronica could even finish her words, she saw Carn logged out.
"Seriously… just who is she eting?" She muttered, confused by Carn's behavior.
anwhile, at this mont, Xu Feng had already rushed back to the competition site.
Sure enough, the site was nearly empty and barren, given most of the audiences were either getting ready to fight or prepare warfare equipnt.
"This update really knows how to take people by surprise." Xu Feng pursed his lips, finding the update to be ridiculous. There were still so many things he hadn't done yet!
"Chirp," Flint chirped softly, its head tilted slightly, seemingly asking what was wrong. With the mana link, Flint could sense that Xu Feng was feeling irritated.
"It's nothing to worry about," Xu Feng smiled lightly, rubbing his small, rocky head.
Shortly after, Xu Feng searched for the office that Yaren would be in.
Thankfully, Crimson Heart was currently discussing things with Yaren, so he knew where to go.
Upon arriving at the office, Yaren was surprised to see Xu Feng returning so soon. "Oh, I thought Earthrender would keep you there for longer."
Suddenly, Yaren paused, her gaze locking on the mini creature laying on Xu Feng's shoulder.
"I hope that you won't break the promise with Earthrender. He's already quite unfortunate and unlucky, but he does uphold his bargain." She calmly spoke, and gave a word of advice to Xu Feng. Rarely would she ever bother giving anyone's advice, but Earthrender was an exception.
Earthrender's fate and conduct was to Yaren's liking, which was why she even conducted trade with him in the first place. Otherwise, no matter how great the trade was, as long as she does not like the other party, there would be no trade.
Nodding, Xu Feng took a seat and smiled, "I'm not the type to break my promise."
"Good, then I'm sure you know the current Paradise Plains is in a state of alarm. I was also called to assist with the utilities departnt, so I'll ask you two here now." Yaren stood up and announced, "Who will be the person taking second place among the two of you in the Blacksmith Profession?"
Just when Crimson Heart was about to raise her hand and volunteered herself to take the second place, Xu Feng was faster.
"I'll take second place." Xu Feng calmly said.
Before Crimson Heart could question him, he continued, "I already got an amazing pet in return from this journey. Plus, from the start, I already said I didn't mind second place, so what we did was rely take a walk in a circle."
This wasn't him having a change of heart or being generous all of a sudden, but the fact that Crimson Heart was already a mber of Vanguard guild.
Additionally, she was prone to be a better and serious forger than him, who didn't have much interest in it. Of course, the real motive was that he didn't want to remain stuck in a workstation until the system updated a feature of automatic refining.
'Why volunteer to be a slave when I can just have Crimson Heart forge the items I need?' Xu Feng shrewdly thought.
