Crimson Heart was famous not just because of her forging skill, but also because of her combat power.
As an Assassin, she was one frightening player to be feared among, especially when she crafted many utility items that assisted her in battle.
The utilities she crafted managed to ruin many top rankers with ease.
However, if Xu Feng had to compare Crimson Heart and the Lunar Wraith based on his past tiline solely, the latter was superior.
That was because Carn's skillset was even more expansive— to the point that Crimson Heart's Assassination and items rendered useless.
And Xu Feng wasn't wrong for such thinking, given Carn was already eager to have a solo battle with Crimson Heart.
"Since you're an Assassin, we should have a fight." Carn proposed. "I haven't battled an Assassin player properly, so I want to know how much I can fare against them."
Much to her disappointnt though, Crimson Heart shook her head and refused.
"There's no point in battling you if you know I'm going to be targeting you. The key of an Assassin is their grasp on the elent of surprise." She explained, indirectly admitting that she won't be a match against Carn.
This in turn caused Carn to be suspicious of her.
"Were you in the Arena spectating when I was participating?" Carn questioned softly.
Nodding in response, Crimson Heart didn't bother to hide that fact.
With that revelation, Carn finally understood why she rejected the battle.
Since Death Bringer, an Assassin NPC suffered miserably at her hand, Crimson Heart would be seeking humiliation if she agreed to fight Carn.
What Crimson Heart didn't know was that Carn had utilized the Voidmancer class. Otherwise, she might not outright reject the battle.
After all, the current Carn was still Tier 0, so she wanted to test her limit when confronting an Assassin with Tier 0 power. By the ti she finished undergoing her tier advancent, there would no longer be an opportunity to test it again.
"There's no need to ask further," Xu Feng mused. "She's not the type to make a move unless provoked or there was sothing she wanted."
"Eh, how did you know?" Carn asked in an alarm tone.
Not to ntion her, even Crimson Heart narrowed her eyes as she gazed at Xu Feng, seemingly confused about how he knew her personality.
Feeling their intense gazes, Xu Feng chuckled and shrugged, "Well, based on Crimson Heart's behavior so far and how she conducted herself in the competition, I rely made an educated guess. I didn't expect to strike it right on the cord in the first attempt."
Although still sowhat skeptical, Crimson Heart couldn't find anything illogical from his explanation either.
Those with keen perspective would naturally sense and detect more than others who might miss things that seed trivial.
"You do have a knack when making predictions." Carn knitted her brows and nodded. "After all, you realized my talent quite early on and did so much just to persuade
to join your guild."
"Of course, I'll be blind to let you join another guild." Xu Feng mused.
Just like that, Xu Feng managed to avoid any suspicion and was inwardly relieved.
'Sigh, Yaren really affected
more than I expected. Imagine making such an amateur slip-up mistake.' Xu Feng lanted. If it was the usual ti, there was no way he would allow himself to be involved in such a situation.
Shortly after Xu Feng cleverly avoided a sensitive topic, the trio arrived at the chasm— or more specifically, the entry to Abyssal Rift.
As they neared the chasm at the entrance to the Abyssal Rift, the air grew colder, and a gust of wind whistled through the cracks in the rocks.
The sll of sothing burnt and strange lingered in the air, making them uneasy.
Looking down, they saw only darkness, with a thick fog that seed to move on its own. The ground was unsteady, vibrating slightly, and giving the impression that sothing deep below was stirring.
Carn felt a sudden chill from the gust of wind, rubbing her arms to warm herself up. The sa goes for Crimson Heart, which ca as a surprise to Carn.
'She's feeling the chillness?' Confused, Carn rembered that she fared quite well during the Frozen Field effect.
anwhile, Crimson Heart sensed her gaze and smiled bitterly. "The coldness of the chasm is more intensified than the Frozen Field. And right now, we're just outside the entry."
Her aning ant that by still being outside, they were already affected by the cold. It was hard to imagine what would happen when they actually stepped foot inside.
Suddenly, their body felt a warmth, one that seed capable of lting them whole. Astonished, the two turned their attention to Xu Feng.
"No need to be srized or amazed by my skills." Xu Feng smirked and continued, "The warmth is only temporary, and if you want to maintain it. You'll need to continuously supply it with mana. I can't afford to maintain it for you."
Needless to say, it beca quite obvious which person Xu Feng was favoring more.
Carn felt extrely warm and barely utilized much mana in contrast to Crimson Heart, who was still feeling a bit chilly and was exerting a lot of mana continuously.
At the current rate, she was positive that after 30 minutes or so, her mana would run out.
An Assassin's mana bar was quite limited when compared to Summoner, Arcane Mage, and Sorcerer.
Of course, if she used Mana Recovery Potion, then the ti would be extended to 50 minutes, which was still lower than an hour.
She pursed her lips, unable to complain much about her current predicant.
"Guild Leader, this guild team invite is really beneficial." Carn suddenly exclaid and giggled.
"With the boosts, we can explore together for at least 3 hours and above." She added, giving a side glance at Crimson Heart.
"Don't be too complacent." Xu Feng slightly chided. "The chasm environnt is not the only thing we need to worry about, but rather, the monsters residing here."
