At first, Carn truly wanted to bla Xu Feng for the cause of her missing the appointnt.
Yet when she saw how Xu Feng didn't attempt to make any excuse or push the bla away, she was hit with a pang of guilt instead.
Although it remained true that she missed her important day to show up at the company where she worked, the fault could not be blad entirely on Xu Feng either.
Had she decided to reject Xu Feng to join him in the Divine World and went to sleep instead, then there wouldn't have been any problem.
However, she still made the decision to assist him over her valuable sleep ti, going as far as determining how much ti she could play.
'With a Guild Leader that is willing to take the bla and responsibility, how can I still fault him?' She thought to herself, feeling quite ashad of her initial thought process.
anwhile, Xu Feng mistook her silence as disappointnt.
'It seems like the arrangent she made is really important.' Xu Feng knitted his brows, not knowing how he could compensate her.
"Carn, since this is my fault and what we did can be considered a guild's expedition. I am willing to compensate you with so funds." Xu Feng softly said.
To be honest, he felt that using money to compensate her for the loss of ti was useless, but he still wanted to offer up sothing. Other than money, he really can't think of another perfect solution to make up for her.
A few seconds later, Carn regained her composure and shook her head.
"There's no need to compensate , Guild Leader. It was my choice to follow you, and it's not like you did it on purpose either." She responded lightly.
"Even so, I insist on paying for your trouble. Not to ntion, you're part of my elite reserve mber. Remunerating you for your effort is a must." Xu Feng insisted on paying her one way or another.
After so back and forth, Carn finally relented from the persistent Xu Feng and told him her bank account number for transfer.
Once she got a notification and checked the amount he sent, she received a shock.
"10,000 dollars? What's the aning of this, Guild Leader?" She asked in a bewildered tone, clearly not expecting such a high transfer of money.
She rely thought the compensation was sowhere between 50-100 dollars.
Yet reality hit differently. It was a whopping 10,000 dollars, equivalent to almost 3 months of her salary.
This was not adding in the factor of the work required for her to earn that much in her company in contrast to rely accompanying Xu Feng for a small expedition.
anwhile, Xu Feng once again misunderstood her bewildernt.
With a pondering expression, he asked, "Is 10,000 dollars a little too low?"
His current fund wasn't much, to be honest, so 10,000 was the only cash flow he could afford to compensate temporarily. After all, he spent most of his other wealth on stocks— stocks that he knew the company would succeed.
By investing in them and slowly building up his stock percentage, he would integrate himself as a critical figure within those companies.
That way, even if he made enemies in the Divine World, the corporations backing them up would have to think twice before trying to get him.
Trying to ss with a lone individual was easy, but trying to ss with an individual that held many stocks in nurous corporations was akin to poking the tiger's tail. Only a diabolical fool would want to provoke the slumbering tiger.
"Anyway, should I add so more?" Xu Feng questioned once he noticed her silence.
Carn promptly snapped out of her daze upon hearing him wanting to give her more.
"N-No, that's more than enough already." She raised her hands up and shook them back and forth, indicating that she didn't need anymore.
"It's just a marketing company I've been working remotely in that wanted us to show up in the office. But it's alright, I don't really want to reveal myself much."
"A marketing company eh," Surprise colored Xu Feng's eyes as he never knew about this information. "What marketing company is it?"
"It's LTG Digital Marketing," Carn explained. LTG which stands for Long-Term Growth, refers to strategies and initiatives aid at sustaining and increasing a company's market presence, revenue, and custor base over an extended period.
"LTG Digital Marketing?" Astonished, Xu Feng heard about this marketing company before. It was around the ti when the Divine World was finally making big waves that companies, especially marketing, went full-throttle in promoting nurous guilds, attracting players with tempting salaries.
However, that wasn't everything. It was the fact that to get a job in the company required extensive university degrees and skills.
He who can't even get a college degree and was actually close to being a dropout, having skipped many of his classes already, found it hard to believe Carn was so multi-talented.

"Anyway, if you're tired, you can log off and rest." Xu Feng coughed and suggested, clearly unwilling to talk about his inferiority.
College?
Honestly, that crap was the most useless and scam type ever to exist. Unless one had a background or was full of money to enter a prestigious college, one could forget about getting a good job after graduating.
"No, I'm actually not tired, Guild Leader." Seemingly ignorant of Xu Feng's inferiority, Carn decided to continue playing. Since she was most likely fired for not showing up, she might as well continue gaming.
After all, following Xu Feng always tended to bring her new experience as opposed to trying to play alone or team up with others. It was always the sa old, grinding simple missions and fighting normal monsters.
"In that case, let's teleport back to the Vanguard Hotel. As a guild mber of Vanguard, you are permitted to teleport straight to the lobby." Xu Feng said, opening up his panel to return to the Vanguard Hotel.
