Chapter 26: Cover Up

Xu Feng was caught in an unexpected cliche mont, but he still had his brain cells intact.

Instead of focusing on the figure or appearance of the woman, he wanted to know how much he was going to get paid for the act.

After all, the one desperate here was not him, but the woman here. If she doesn't pay him enough, then exposing her wouldn't hurt.

With his expertise, Xu Feng could easily detect the woman latching onto him to be so rich heiress and those uniform-like people are the bodyguards. Their expression and deanor clearly didn't show they were trying to kidnap her but were filled with worry that sothing might happen to her.

'Heh, I won't take advantage of you physically, woman. But I will definitely earn myself so extra cash.' Xu Feng exclaid inwardly, eagerly waiting for the woman's response.

"I'll pay you 10,000 dollars if you help

avoid those people," the woman was swift and decisive, instantly offering an exaggerated amount.

'Damn, I've really struck gold this ti. Just a little act and I can earn that much. Does money grow on trees nowadays?' Xu Feng was astonished by the woman's decisiveness. She didn't even blink her eyes one bit. It was almost as if she was just discarding so small change.

"Deal, wrap yourself more tightly to

then. They are coming." He whispered softly, pulling her into his embrace. During the action, Xu Feng made sure he didn't touch her inappropriately and was just giving an illusion of an intimate embrace from an outsider's point of view.

anwhile, the woman was sowhat shocked by his deanor, having expected to be taken advantage of slightly.

'It's a good thing I didn't lose my eyesight and chose a scoundrel to cover up.' The woman thought to herself.

Just as this ti, she heard the people behind her shouting and searching anxiously.

"Where did Young Miss go?"

"She just ran down, so she can't possibly go far!"

"Go to the exit just in case she manages to run that fast. We need to find her soon. If Young Miss is hard in any way, then we're dood."

"Okay, all of us split into four directions. I doubt the Young Miss would remain here since it'll be too obvious."

When the last bodyguard announced that arrangent, Xu Feng on the side, with his arms wrapped around the woman was smiling bitterly.

'Just how terrible is your judgnt?' He wondered silently.

Nevertheless, he had to thank this bodyguard for his "clever" input, otherwise, who knows how long he must pretend.

Although embracing such a smooth and fragrant young woman was nice, he wasn't so dog in heat or a virgin— well at least not in the past.

The main point was that he could still control his emotions and mind, preventing him from turning into so pervert.

Not to ntion, he was a busy man and couldn't afford to waste his ti on such cliche scenarios. If it weren't for the extra cash, he would have left already.

"Are they gone yet?" The woman in his embrace suddenly looked up and whispered.

As he listened to her question and glanced at her, Xu Feng finally took notice of her captivating appearance. Her subtle allure and warm confidence were evident in her amber eyes and chestnut hair, framing soft features.

Almost srized by her appearance, Xu Feng was quick to snap out of his daze and responded, "Not yet. There's still a few bodyguards left to check the surroundings."

"Are we being suspected then?" She asked in concern, her hands gripping on his clothes sowhat tightly.

"I doubt so. They have glanced over us a few tis, but with you wearing a hat to cover your chestnut hair and resembling no different than most people, they didn't suspect us." He calmly explained.

To reassure her further and prevent any more wrinkling of his clothes, he continued, "Not to ntion, they were shouting 'Young Miss' earlier, creating quite the commotion. Any normal person being chased would have fled the scene to avoid capture. Plus, considering the guards didn't even suspect most couples, you probably don't co into contact with many n either."

By the ti Xu Feng finished his explanation, the woman could be seen visibly shocked, her hands gradually loosening a bit on his clothes.

'Just a few glances and this man can gather so much intel from it.' She was stunned by the man she had latched onto temporarily.

Although such insight might not be rare, it was hard to find soone capable of analyzing this quickly on a whim.

Ti slowly passed by, and the guards finally concluded that the Young Miss they were searching for was not in the area. Thus, they all subsequently left, most likely to join the rest of their companions to search elsewhere.

It was at this ti that Xu Feng gently pushed the woman in his embrace away.

"The guards left already, so you should be safe now." He explained, fixing his wrinkled clothes.

His clothes were still left with the warmth and perfu fragrance of the woman when he touched them.

Watching Xu Feng fixing his wrinkled clothes, the woman's face turned slightly red, seemingly embarrassed by her conduct.

"I-I'm sorry about that. I can get you a new one," she offered, trying to compensate him for his effort.

"No need, the 10,000 dollars you offered

is enough." Xu Feng declined in a flat tone. His swift declination caused the woman to twitch her mouth slightly.

Had it been anyone else that she offered to compensate, they would have already danced happily in joy.

What was worse was the fact that she realized he wasn't posing in an attempt to gain her attraction which most idiotic n do, believing it was a good strategy.

She could subtly sense the man in front of her seed occupied and simply wanted to leave as soon as possible.

'Did I lose my attraction and charm?' She wondered silently, even touching her smooth face a few tis.
