EXP Potion
Had it been so other players listening to Carn's explanation, they would have labeled her as a liar or scamr. After all, they could hardly believe a potion would raise a player's level by 4, going from 2 to 6.
However, that was only for the ignorant players and does not apply to Xu Feng.
He knew very well what type of potion Carn drank to have her level boosted so much.
'She had the rare EXP Potion and one with at least over a million exp points.' Xu Feng cried inwardly.
It was the first ti since his reincarnation that he felt so envious and jealous of soone.
EXP Potion was the short-terminology for experience points potion, and it was a highly demanded item that every player wished to have to increase their level. Not only would it save them many tis from grinding monsters or doing missions, but it also had the chance of granting extra free attribute points when leveled up. Why couldn't that person receiving the EXP Potion be him? Keeping a friendly smile on the surface while overwhelmingly frustrated on the inside, Xu Feng gave her a thumbs up.
"I see what happened, Carn. You drank an EXP Potion, but don't reveal it to anyone else anymore. Otherwise, trouble will co to find you, especially to Librarian Griselda." He warned kindly. As regretful as it may be, Xu Feng knew it was too late to try to make acquaintance with Librarian Griselda. However, that didn't an he couldn't reap so benefit from her through Carn.
Of course, he remained ethical in this particular aspect. Had it been soone else and not the Lunar Wraith, Xu Feng would gladly snatch the opportunity away from them in a heartbeat.
Alas, he didn't want to make an enemy out of a future expert. Not to ntion, his main goal was to get her to be on his side. Therefore, he could only take the loss this ti and find sothing else.
"I understand now," Unaware of his true thoughts, Carn took his kind advice and noted to herself. "So in the Divine World, we must conceal most information from others. Is that correct?"
"Yes, that is correct."
"Then I should distance myself from you, right?"
"..."
Why was this woman even more difficult to deal with than Zhao Kai?
"I won't say I'm trustworthy since we just t, but you can decide that when I help you with your mission." Xu Feng adjusted his glasses and calmly said. "Got it." Soti later, the two headed downstairs to the registrars, and unexpectedly encountered the previous Tier 1 rcenary who was reprimanding Carn earlier.
"Hoh, so you went to grab food instead." Seeing Carn walking downstairs from the 2nd floor, the Tier 1 rcenary made a comnt. "At least it's better than dreaming about hiring a rcenary with 10 copper coins." Feeling embarrassed, Carn hid behind Xu Feng, unable to respond to the remark.
anwhile, Xu Feng held a deadpan expression, clearly unamused by this so-called unexpected encounter. Previously, he had seen this sa rcenary glancing at a mission in the bulletin board when he was conversing with Carn, so why would he still be here? Although he didn't know the latter's motive, it was definitely not sothing pleasing to Xu Feng.
"Yes, 10 copper coins being wasted on food is better than being wasted on a re Tier 1 rcenary." Xu Feng raised his voice and purposely provoked him and the rest of the rcenaries nearby. "What did you just say?" Instantly, the sa Tier 1 rcenary held a fiery expression, clearly infuriated by Xu Feng's provocation.
"Aish, the quality is terrible here. People with hearing problems can actually be promoted to Tier 1?" Xu Feng uttered in disbelief, shaking his head left and right.
anwhile, Carn was filled with shock by his sudden change of attitude. She secretly tugged behind his back and whispered, "Why are you provoking him on purpose, Feng?" "He ca to provoke you, so am I supposed to stand still and let him trample over you?" Xu Feng calmly responded and patted her hand before taking another step toward the rcenary.
"You have a lot of guts to utter that statent here, little boy."
"Oh, so you did hear my statent earlier?" Surprised, Xu Feng questioned, "Then why did you feign deaf? Do you have so sort of deficiency in your body? Jeez, Carn dodged a bullet this ti and didn't hire you. Otherwise, it would have been disastrous for her." "HOW DARE YOU!" The Tier 1 rcenary roared loudly and was about to attack Xu Feng.
However, before he could even land a finger on Xu Feng, he was halted by the guards overseeing the 1st floor. These guards were no ordinary guards, given they were actually Tier 2 rcenaries who took the job as guards. "What are you doing?" The Tier 1 rcenary was confused about why he was detained. "This person just insulted us rcenaries, and you're just going to let him be?"
"Shut up!" One of the guards shouted and gave him a fierce slap to the face. "Insulting us? Why don't you take a closer look at who you were trying to pick a fight with?" As the guard said that, he lifted the back of the Tier 1 rcenary head, ensuring he could get a closer look at Xu Feng.
Sure enough, after scrutinizing for a few minutes, the Tier 1 rcenary finally realized sothing, and his face quickly turned pale, becoming ashen gray.
As for Carn, she was the most confused, given Xu Feng's words should have offended the rcenaries thoroughly. Yet not only was he not punished, the guards seed to be fearful of him.
At this mont, she finally ca to realize that Xu Feng was not so ordinary player she had t and interacted with before. Nevertheless, her thought process was interrupted when the guards suddenly demanded from the Tier 1 rcenary. "Stop staring and apologize." "I-I'm sorry, Sir." The Tier 1 rcenary readily apologized, not even daring to delay. anwhile, Xu Feng ignored the latter and turned to Carn instead. "What do you think, Carn? Should we accept his apology or not?"
