Capítulo 1393: Sunrise Inner City Part 10
One hour and 30 minutes later…
Town Hall, Main Office.
Xu Feng’s silhouette appeared as he calmly sat down in his chair.
The next second later, Carn’s silhouette also appeared, but her complexion was visibly pale.
“You’re too ruthless, Feng.” Carn’s virtual body was sparkly clean, but her waist still felt like it was aching terribly.
He had shown no rcy and sent her to nirvana so many tis. She nearly lost her voice in the process.
“Acting like you couldn’t escape.” Xu Feng chuckled softly.
Carn’s face flushed instantly. If she really hated it, then no one could force her. And that included Xu Feng.
Alas, she was long chard by this devilish scheming man. As much as he always sched against others, he had never done it to her.
He was very transparent and answered everything she asked.
“Anyway, it seed like the raid sign-up was filled to the brim.” Carn checked on the sign-up and was amused by the applicants.
A raid personally led by Xu Feng was naturally the hottest commodity within the guild.
“Let
guess, you’re making Veronica organize them?” Xu Feng raised an eyebrow.
“Of course, not!” Carn’s face quickly turned pale. Ever since Veronica forced her to take lessons, she had been avoiding the forr to the best of her ability.
Moreover, Veronica had stated that she wished to take a break. Unless it was sothing important, they better not drop her any workload.
“Look at how traumatized you have been.” He laughed rrily and inford her. “In this raid, Veronica will be joining us. I’ve already organized most of the strategy, and she will be in charge of team setup.”
“Eh, she’s joining too?” She gasped and appeared visibly surprised.
Wasn’t she supposed to be taking a break?
Why did she suddenly change her mind?
“Did you say sothing to her?” Carn wasn’t happy about the news. Instead, she was imnsely worried that this person had sold her out again.
“Do I really look that despicable?” Xu Feng squinted his eyes.
Her reaction and expression clearly showed she was suspecting him of doing sothing sneaky behind her back.
“I’ve told Veronica that she has been cooped up in the office for far too long. I plan on using this raid to get her back in shape and improve her gear, too.”
Because the Sunrise Inner City was unique from other dungeons, there were so items that could only be dropped for that person.
And within the dungeon, there was an item that would be extrely beneficial for an Arcane Mage class.
It was called Archmage Robe, an exclusive relic that could only be found in the Sunrise Inner City. What made this Archmage Robe special was that it had a similar growth effect to his Convergence Staff.
As long as Veronica cherished the robe well and gave it a significant upgrade, then her DPS output would be insane.
“Ah, the Archmage Robe…” Carn was startled by the item’s na. “How did you always know this information, Feng?”
“Through readings.”
“I don’t believe you. None of them is even in the library. Swear by your honors if you really learn them through readings.”
She thought he would quickly retract his statent because they were still people who believed in the swearing honor system.
But little did she know… Xu Feng was honestly speaking the truth. The only problem was that he didn’t read it in this tiline, but in the past tiline.
Just like that, he raised three fingers up and swore in honor.
“I swear that I read them all in docunts and books. If I lie, then may Zhao Kai’s ass be on fire. Super hot fire kind!” Xu Feng decided to use Zhao Kai’s na because he was his good buddy.
Aren’t good buddies ant to go through hardship together?
“…”
Sure enough, Carn nearly stumbled to the ground. Her face twitched in disbelief at how fast he threw his friend under the bus like that.
However, when she thought carefully, she understood that Xu Feng truly cared for his buddy.
She had only briefly ntioned how Zhao Kai was being maliciously discussed regarding his capability and rank to him. Then, in the blink of an eye, almost all of those malicious rumors were gone.
Even though Xu Feng never once ntioned it or showed that he was involved in it, Carn was certain that the incident was definitely related to him.
After all, the spreading rumors players had to apologize publicly in the Ga Forum and promised to compensate the Vanguard Guild for the damages.
Carn honestly couldn’t think of anyone else except for Xu Feng, who was such a money-grubber.
Just at this mont, the door opened, and soone’s footsteps nearly caused Carn to jump up like a scaredy cat.
Without hesitation, she hurriedly dashed toward Xu Feng’s side and hid behind him.
The only person who could scare soone like her so deeply was, naturally, none other than Veronica.
“Hah, as expected. Once a bestie finds a man for themselves, they forget their bestie right away.” Veronica narrowed her eyes and glanced at these two dog couples.
She didn’t know how these two suddenly got together. There were so signs of Carn having a crush, but that was about it.
“You two are really trying to blind , right?” She took a seat and asked.
“It’s more like you are scared off by the lectures.” Xu Feng lightly chuckled and joked. Needless to say, his arm was quickly pinched by Carn, who glared at him fiercely.
“Shush, don’t expose
like that.” She whispered softly to him.
However, Carn could never have imagined that she was about to receive the shock of her life.
“Scared her off?” Veronica clicked her tongue. She rolled her eyes and crossed her legs. “You were the one who told
to give her the harsh lecture and be extrely critical. Don’t try to skirt away your responsibility.”
‘Hmph, who told you to dump so much paperwork on ? Let’s see how you’re going to face Carn’s wrath.’
She sneered inwardly and quietly watched the drama unfold before her.
As if to prove a point, she even got a bucket of popcorn prepared.
Such a deliberate act made it painfully obvious to Xu Feng that she was here to claim the overworkload.
