Chapter 1321: Retaliation
10 minutes later...
THUD!
A total of 12 ambushers were laid flat on the ground, motionless. Their expression, however, depicted deep fear and anxiety.
"Speak, who sent you here to die?" Xu Feng asked coldly.
His question ended up in a silent response, with none opening their mouths.
Amidst their silence, Carn quickly approached Xu Feng and wrapped her arms around his waist. She leaned on her back and tightened her grip.
Even though she had witnessed how easily Xu Feng dealt with the 12 ambushers, she couldn’t help but feel scared.
These ambushers were all holding firearms. They were definitely not easy to deal with. Just one mishap and he could have lost his life on the spot.
"Don’t forgive them, Feng," Carn uttered.
"They want your life, so it’s only right that they will forfeit theirs." She continued, advising him to end them swiftly.
Upon hearing that, Xu Feng quickly realized sothing.
’It seems like I was still overly prejudiced...’ He had thought killing people would frighten her away. But what Carn just said now was to remind him that she wasn’t so ordinary or weak person.
While he understood her intent, Carn remained unaware.
Hence, she continued to bring up points to persuade him. "Green Fla City has a law that targets this kind of event. Since these people dared to ambush us and wished to kill us, we are lawfully right to silence them in return."
Almost imdiately, the ambushers panicked internally.
They didn’t anticipate that Xu Feng and Carn could be that decisive in killing them.
"Well, I only cared for this particular information." Xu Feng gazed at them with a chilling look. "Whoever speaks up first can leave, whereas the remaining ones can et their end here."
"I’ll speak!"
"It’s Edgar! He hired us to kill you for the humiliation you gave him!"
"Edgar said you made him lose face and made him get scolded by his Father!"
In the blink of an eye, these ambushers all voiced their thoughts aloud. They didn’t even signal the others and were already willing to spill the beans.
Compared to keeping a secret to the grave, they might as well reveal it for the chance of survival.
Still, they didn’t expect all of them to speak up at the sa ti.
Now the atmosphere beca really awkward for them.
They glanced at each other with a hateful expression, seemingly screaming Traitor.
"What do we do here, Carn?" Xu Feng ignored their pathetic response and turned to her for an answer. These people dared to ambush while she was present, so he would listen to her opinion.
Carn furrowed her brows. Initially, she wanted them to be dead. But upon closer pondering, she reckoned they might be more useful alive.
She stepped forward and glanced at the 12 beaten, black and blue ambushers.
"Do you all want to live?" She asked gently.
The ambushers nodded their heads simultaneously. They weren’t sure what she was up to, but they preferred life over death. Even a small glimpse of hope was enough.
As for loyalty to the commissioner?
Fuck that!
Nothing was more important than living.
Seeing them nodding their heads, Carn smiled sweetly. "Feng, do you have any thod that can kill them imdiately if you wanted to do so?"
"I can inject my Energy Force into their inner body. With a single thought, I can explode the force." Xu Feng replied. It sounded overpowered and might raise the question that Energy Force fighters could kill at will.
However, that would be a far-fetched dream.
Any Energy Force fighters found using such thods to kill normal civilians were going to be persecuted to the end of the world.
Although there were still so who disregarded the rule, they were all caught and executed. After all, public order was absolute and could not allow unlawfulness to run wild in populated cities.
This was an advanced technological era, and not so apocalyptic era.
Soon, Xu Feng injected his unique Energy Force into the 12 ambushers.
"Okay, their lives are in my hands now." He said in a nonchalant tone, almost as if this wasn’t his first rodeo.
Carn nodded her head and turned her attention to the 12 ambushers. "Equip a miniature cara that could stream 24/7. What I want is quite simple. Give whoever orders you to harm us the sa dicine."
Instantly, the 12 ambushers assud a kneeling position and pleaded for rcy.
"Please spare us!"
"Anything but that!"
Although they readily betrayed Egdar’s na, trying to actively harm him was another thing.
Who didn’t know Edgar’s identity?
"Then would you prefer to die now?" Carn’s gaze gradually turned colder. "I hope you understand that we’re going to retaliate either way. It’s just that we’re too lazy to personally make a move."
Shortly after the ultimatum was made, the 12 ambushers could only reluctantly agree to the arrangent and equipped a miniature cara.
As they exited the underground level, Xu Feng finally spoke up. "They ain’t going to succeed."
A person like Edgar definitely wouldn’t be short of bodyguards, especially after that humiliating event.
"I know." Carn naturally held no hopes for these ambushers. "I just wanted to send them to Edgar’s side and let him know that you’re not easy to be trifled with."
"Hoh, I’m starting to feel that you’re more dangerous than I thought." Xu Feng was surprised. It appeared that there were more secrets to Carn.
"Hehe, we’re equal on that." Carn stuck her tongue playfully. She then leaned on his shoulders as they walked toward their car.
Xu Feng smiled briefly, ignoring a nearby person who was hiding in the dark corner. He recognized them as soone working for Kara. So as a sign of respect, he chose not to expose them.
’Indeed, without sufficient power, one can only dream about pursuing their love.’ Despite knowing the path ahead wasn’t going to be easy, Xu Feng had already decided to brave through the storm for Carn. She chose to trust him, so he would never fail her trust.
