Chapter 1104: Colossus Hall
Almost all Colossus-conquered cities had their Teleport Platform shut down to prevent any human cities from being able to spy and infiltrate them. The Colossuses weren’t stupid enough to let such a big threat open.
However, what the Colossuses failed to realize was that they might be clever themselves, but their subordinates might not be that bright.
Just because one ford intelligence didn’t an they had the wisdom to understand what and how to use their knowledge to their advantage.
The orc in front of Xu Feng was precisely what it ant to be intelligent, but lacked wisdom. To be blinded by montary greed and agree to his request, the orc actually opened up a door for the human cities to infiltrate successfully.
As the main contributor of this, Xu Feng couldn’t even fathom the type of rewards and benefits that would await him.
Moreover, his credibility would also soar through the roof. By then, the Miracle Pavilion should be dreaming if they still believed they had any footing in the plane he operated on.
Oh, there was also the matter where the Colossuses would seek revenge on the Miracle Pavilion for the plight. This was especially true for Luther, the Guild Commander of the Miracle Pavilion.
’This kind of gift, I’m sure Luther must be very appreciative and wish to hug . What a sha that I’m into beautiful won and not n.’ Xu Feng sneered inwardly.
He first commanded the elites to place all the boxes into their designated storage compartnts and then send them all away in the Teleport Platform.
"Please be careful, Boss," Veronica warned softly. "This isn’t a human city, and any mishap would cause us to be unable to explain the matter to the Guild Leader."
Hearing that, Xu Feng could subtly sense the displeasure of the monsters operating the Teleport Platform.
Unwilling to have them raise any hostility toward Veronica, he decided to snort coldly.
"Hmph, what mishap could there be? I’m here to beco a business partner with Lord Colossus. If there’s any mishap, it could be my belly overfilling when I enjoy a lovely banquet feast to celebrate our upcoming future." He announced loudly.
Simultaneously, he sent a warning ssage to Veronica to beware of her wordings and tell her to suppress the others from making any comnts until they returned to the Guild Residence.
It was only then that Veronica’s face turned sowhat pale from almost sabotaging her boss’s action. She hurriedly nodded and feigned defeat.
"Yes, Commander Luther. I was wrong and overspoke." She bowed her head and addressed him as Luther.
When Veronica apologized sincerely and bowed to the remaining monsters, their hostility finally subsided.
A slip of the tongue, followed by a quick realization and apology, was accepted in their mind.
After all, they had also committed similar mistakes and were reprimanded by their Lord for it.
It was difficult for them to adjust to the new situation, which required them to stay neutral or friendly to coexist.
Soti later, flickers of light flashed across as each of them teleported away, leaving only Xu Feng on the scene.
"Right this way, Sir. Lord Colossus Fifth has received the news and will arrive soon." A goblin approached and inford him.
Xu Feng nodded his head.
"I’ll be under your guidance." He retrieved another gemstone and tossed it to the goblin.
Instantly, the goblin’s eyes lit up, and their expression beca even more polite.
"Sir is definitely going to feel comfortable." The goblin grasped the gemstone and caressed it gently.
"Comfortable, huh?" Amused, Xu Feng pointed at a few buildings that seed to be vacant. "I do need to know a little bit of the infrastructure here to understand how to smoothly do business in the future."
"Yes, of course." The goblin nodded its head unconsciously and began explaining them in detail. They were so focused on the precious gemstone that they failed to realize they were spilling out confidential information.
’Give them a little bit of sweet and they will sell out everything. What’s the point of having intelligence when you don’t have the wisdom to understand the implications?’ He laughed silently.
Ti quickly went by, and the Goblin continued to answer most of his questions honestly, completely unaware that they had sold off lots of valuable intel to Xu Feng.
However, their honesty and utter ignorance ended up making Xu Feng suspicious.
’Could this be a canary trap?’ Xu Feng seriously doubted the Colossuses would be that foolish to reveal this much information to their lowly underlings. But then again, he couldn’t nullify that it was indeed possible for the underlings to know so much because of the Colossuses’ traits, which were arrogance and overconfidence.
Because they were arrogant, they didn’t put their enemies in their eyes. And because of overconfidence, they boasted about their feats and information everywhere to boost their pride and ego.
Either way, Xu Feng still secretly snapped a ton of pictures. Given that the city wasn’t human, each picture cost him 10 copper coins. It sounded little, but once you kept adding it up, the cost could easily reach 1 gold coin in the blink of an eye.
Soti later, they arrived at the Colossus Hall. It wasn’t called City Hall because Skyland City was now controlled by the Colossus.
Although players and NPCs still referred to the city by its original na, most of the monsters called it Colossus Skyland.
"This is your waiting room. Lord Colossus Fifth will be here soon, so do make yourself comfortable." The goblin brought him to a private room and promptly excused themselves.
The oppressive aura in the room was too threatening and imposing.
’Interesting. So you wish to test my resolve and determination.’ Xu Feng thought and calmly retrieved a small beverage to drink. He was certain there were multiple surveillance formations capturing the private room, so he had to stay very calm.
The wait went from seconds to minutes to hours. And finally, after 2 and a half hours, the door to the private room opened.
In the anti, Xu Feng opened his eyes briefly, having taken a leisurely nap during the wait. ’Want to play gas? I’ll gladly take it as a break ti.’
