"How am I talking nonsense? It’s just the truth!" Lin Xia mumbled, following her second sister downstairs.

In the room, after locking the door, Lin Xue eagerly entered the space.

"Wifey..." Zhang Yuan stood in front of the cash register, with a bright smile on his face, looking at Lin Xue who hurried in.

"Brother Yuan, got so free ti?" Lin Xue couldn’t deny she missed him, but she was good at hiding her emotions, so she asked calmly.

"Wifey, don’t you miss at all..." Zhang Yuan complained pitifully.

"Be serious. Are you done over there?" Lin Xue was eager to know if Zhang Yuan was finished on his end.

"Wifey, are you that impatient? I can rush over and marry you right away!" Zhang Yuan still didn’t give Lin Xue a straight answer.

"No way! I still have more than a year until I graduate high school; no rush to get married! You wait!" Lin Xue gave up asking when she got no answers and turned to leave.

"Wifey, this won’t do! You can’t do this to ! We agreed on three years. I finished my work early because I was going to marry you. How can you go back on your word?" Zhang Yuan hurried after her, his face turning pale with fear.

Lin Xue didn’t turn her head, "It’s a two-year high school. If it were three years, you’d have to wait another year!"

In this era, high school was typically a two-year program. High school graduates were considered well-educated and could often beco leaders or teachers.

"No way, we agreed on three years. You can’t back out. Anyway, I’ve already bought tickets for tomorrow. I’m bringing my grandparents and preparing to co give betrothal gifts. You’re about to have a break too, right? Just in ti for when we arrive!" Zhang Yuan muttered behind Lin Xue, revealing his plans.

"What did you say? Your grandparents are coming too? Tomorrow’s train?" Lin Xue couldn’t stay calm anymore, she whipped around and asked Zhang Yuan with wide eyes.

"Yeah! If I hadn’t stopped him, grandpa would have had the driver drive over. It’s a long distance; taking the train is better, and there’s a place to sleep!" Zhang Yuan nodded confidently.

"Who told you to make such decisions? You even planned a surprise attack; no, I won’t marry. I’ll wait until after I graduate high school!" Lin Xue shook her head vigorously, looking a bit anxious.

"Wifey, you can still continue studying after we’re married! Let’s study in Capital City, where you can attend school during the day, and I’ll work, and we’ll co ho at night, how great!" Zhang Yuan envisioned, "I’ll have my own ho too, no need for dorms anymore!"

"Like that’s true, can you really co ho whenever you want?" Lin Xue doubted, wasn’t it said that researchers have no freedom?

"I forgot to tell you, I’ve applied to be transferred from the research base. From now on, I’ll only be responsible for the electric vehicle factory, and soon your husband will be the factory manager!" Zhang Yuan added.

"How many things do you have to tell , can’t you just say it all at once? Is it fun to keep surprising ?" Lin Xue was thoroughly shocked. How many matters does he have, surprising her one after the other?

Zhang Yuan looked amusedly at the flustered girl, then shrugged innocently.

"I’ve basically said it all. I just left the research base after five in the morning today. Grandpa got the news early, ca to pick up before dawn, and then talked about driving to your place... I barely managed to stop him, yet ended up buying tickets with him. Grandma insisted on coming too, so I bought three sleeper tickets. Busy until now, and finally had ti to see you!" Zhang Yuan said with a smile.

In fact, he couldn’t have co out so quickly. His grandfather sohow pulled so strings to get him out half a month early, and he left in the middle of the night, not even getting to sleep well.

As soon as he got out, the old man insisted on finding his granddaughter-in-law, leaving him dumbfounded.

The old man’s exact words were like this: "Young man, you’ve been researching for years, if you don’t hurry up and marry your bride, I’m afraid she’ll run away!"

That hit the mark for Zhang Yuan, as he was eager to marry her too, so he obediently went along and bought the tickets, doing everything first and informing later.

Though he wasn’t lying, the old man did want to drive, but Zhang Yuan feared the old man couldn’t handle it, so he switched to the train. But his grandmother insisted on going too.

"What’s this about being a factory manager?" Lin Xue hadn’t heard it all, so she asked.

"Just like you heard. Electric vehicles can now be mass-produced. I’ve applied to leave the research institute and got transferred to the electric vehicle factory as the manager. I can be with you every day now!" Zhang Yuan explained.

Now the two wouldn’t have to be apart. Though in these three years, they’ve only been separated recently, having spent most nights together. Even this temporary separation was hard for Zhang Yuan to bear.

Lin Xue nodded. She never ddled in Brother Yuan’s career or made demands. She knew being a researcher was dangerous, which was clear from all the bodyguards he had around him.

They always moved with security, as he was a key figure in the nation, and couldn’t risk assassination attempts.

Being a factory manager wasn’t a bad thing. With the economic opening up in the future, the couple could make a fortune, maintaining social status without risking their safety.

"Oh, now going out won’t be as tiring as riding a bicycle." Lin Xue’s focus was on that, without comnting on Zhang Yuan’s job.

Zhang Yuan finally breathed a sigh of relief. He had feared this little girl would disapprove of his job, as she often complained that being a manager wasn’t good and that she didn’t want to be one.

"But our factory’s electric vehicles aren’t as nice as Xiao Bai. You can take Xiao Bai out for a ride!" Zhang Yuan quickly remarked, seeing her happiness lay in this.

"Alright then, let’s sell ten or eight first and take the chance to ride myself." Lin Xue nodded.

She didn’t know if what she did was right, introducing electric vehicles ahead of ti, spreading through the streets, contributing significantly to the transportation industry.

She suddenly recalled her assistant saying the garage would be unlocked when the ti ca, and she’d finally be able to drive her beloved vehicle.

"Wifey, let hug you! Haven’t seen you for so many days, I’m dying of longing, can’t eat or sleep well!" Zhang Yuan, having said everything, just wanted to hold his warm, soft darling.

Lin Xue wasn’t coy, mostly because she missed Brother Yuan too, having grown accustod to sleeping with her handso man. These days, she’d been sleepless at night.

Lin Yun and Lin Xia finished making breakfast, intending to keep it warm in the pot.

Unexpectedly, their eldest sister ca downstairs with a glow, not complaining of headaches or fatigue, and even had a hearty appetite.

"Big sister, didn’t you say you were going to nap? Why are you up so soon?" Lin Xia curiously leaned towards Lin Xue, nudging and asking.

"Took so dicine, my headache’s gone, so I’m up for breakfast!" Lin Xue explained cheerfully to her sisters.

"Wow... what kind of dicine is that amazing? Look at you, all glowing with happiness," Lin Xia exclaid dramatically.

Lin Yun beside her covered her mouth, laughing and nodding in agreent, "Big sister might have taken an Immortal Pill..."
