The hosts and guests were all delighted.

Overall, the families were satisfied with each other’s family customs, except for a little embarrassnt caused by the two uncles and aunts, but there were no major gaffes.

Thus, the families agreed that after the winter break, the two children would get engaged. As for the wedding date, Lin Daliang said that since his eldest daughter hasn’t set a wedding date, there’s no rush for the second daughter.

Though the Sun Family was very pleased with this daughter-in-law, they couldn’t force anything, so they agreed just like that.

Back ho, Lin Yun took a deep breath. It had been a tough day for her, but fortunately, Sun Qianqian was there to keep her company. Otherwise, she’d have been bombarded with questions by a bunch of aunts.

Both Wang Junsheng and his wife, along with Wang Shusheng and his wife, ca back with them, with no intention of leaving yet, just sitting in the living room chatting.

The pockets of the two aunts were bulging with sunflower seeds and candies.

The third aunt, Niu Yingying, was busier as her two-year-old son was quite a handful, not as easy to manage as Xiao Feng and Xiao Cai, so she hadn’t eaten much.

It was already past two, and she hadn’t eaten much for lunch. Lin Xue knew she must be hungry, so she went to the kitchen to make her a bowl of noodles, and then called the third aunt over, helping her hold the little cousin so she could eat.

"Xiao Xue, how did you know I was hungry? I really am! The baby was fussing during lunch, so I didn’t eat much. These noodles you made are really tasty!" Niu Yingying was still nursing her child and was so hungry that she ate eagerly.

Though she didn’t want to admit she was hungry, she had been holding on, and luckily Lin Xue noticed and made her so food.

"I knew you hadn’t eaten much. Hurry and eat! You’re nursing, so you get hungry fast! Isn’t little cousin already two? Shouldn’t he wean by now?" Lin Xue laughed. She was fond of the third uncle’s family and willing to lend a hand, so she was nicer to the third aunt.

Plus, the third aunt was about her age, so they had things to talk about, and importantly, the third aunt wasn’t strange.

"Hmm, we ant to wean, but I’m too soft-hearted. Whenever he fusses, I just can’t do it. I’ll wean him when I get back. I still have to work and rush ho at noon to feed him, then cook—there’s not enough ti!" Niu Yingying spoke while eating noodles.

White noodles are sothing their family rarely eats, maybe only twice a month. Now with a child, they have more expenses, so they’ve been saving wherever possible.

"Third Aunt, who helps take care of the child now? Aren’t the grandparents still in the village?" Lin Xue asked curiously. She knew the third aunt had been working, and initially, the grandmother took care of the child but then returned to the village.

"It’s your second uncle’s eldest daughter! Xiao Fang helps watch the child!" Niu Yingying replied.

Lin Xue wasn’t surprised. The eldest child in the eldest uncle’s family is a son, so this responsibility fell on the second uncle’s family.

"Oh... Xiao Fang is fourteen now, right?" Lin Xue had sowhat forgotten the child’s age.

"She’s the sa age as Xiao Yun and Xiao Xia! Fifteen! The child has a decent personality, not too scheming, not like her parents..." Niu Yingying stuck out her tongue, slightly embarrassed for speaking ill of her brother and sister-in-law.

Gossiping about her brother and sister-in-law felt a bit awkward, especially since the Niu Family and Wang Family had been fussing over childcare arrangents for a long ti.

In the end, to be fair, the mother-in-law returned to the village, deciding that neither mother would co back, and it was the second sister-in-law who suggested her daughter could help watch the child. This way, the Niu Family couldn’t argue anymore as they didn’t have anyone suitable.

"Oh my, are you giving special treatnt to your third aunt here? All aunts, but Xiao Xue is especially close to her third aunt!" Feng Minghua thought her sister-in-law had sneaked off to get so perks after disappearing for so long, so she followed her to find out.

She discovered her eating noodles here, and it made her hungry again despite having just eaten.

"Big sister-in-law, why have you co over? I hadn’t eaten much as I was watching the baby, so Xiao Xue made sothing for as she saw I was hungry!" Niu Yingying stood up to explain.

She couldn’t let Xiao Xue be reprimanded by the big sister-in-law, though it wasn’t really a big deal—just a bowl of noodles!

"I see you’ve eaten quite a bit, haven’t you? Looking for more treats after seeing sothing nice?" Feng Minghua said as she sat down at the table.

"With little cousin fussing, how could the third aunt eat properly? Seeing the third aunt hadn’t eaten much, I made her a bowl to fill up. Big sister-in-law, since you’re here now, I have so things to do and need you to help watch little cousin. The third aunt is almost done eating!" Though Lin Xue was irked by this big sister-in-law, as a guest, she couldn’t just kick soone out.

"Oh, Xiao Xue, your big sister-in-law didn’t eat enough earlier either, just focused on appearances. Are there any noodles left? Your big sister-in-law would like a bite too!" Feng Minghua, with a big grin, pretended not to hear Lin Xue asking her to watch the child.

Niu Yingying, spurred by Lin Xue’s words that she had things to do, quickened her eating pace, and with only two bites left, she was done. But hearing Feng Minghua’s words, she felt a bit embarrassed and paused.

She knew that bowl of noodles was all there was, and what was Feng Minghua implying, having eaten more than anyone and now claiming she hadn’t had enough.

"As I see it, big sister-in-law didn’t eat little! You even soaked that last bit of soup with bread. How are you not full? There’s only this one bowl of noodles; if that’s not enough, you can eat at ho! It’s about ti to go, or it’ll be dark by the ti you get back!" Lin Xue signaled the third aunt to finish eating quickly, while she dealt with Feng Minghua with ease.

"Oh, Xiao Xue, this isn’t fair. Why is one person an aunt and the other not? You give your third aunt noodles and specifically not your big sister-in-law. What kind of hospitality is that?" Feng Minghua, as usual, used these things to jab at people.

"Big sister-in-law, you’ve got wrong here. Our hospitality has not been lacking; it’s unfair to tarnish our reputation. We provided food and you’re clearly full—I saw you eat plenty, even taking so with you and I didn’t say a thing. Yet this one bowl for the third aunt because she’s watching the child and now you want to take it away—are you suggesting you’re a child, wanting more after you’ve eaten?" Lin Xue was annoyed but maintained her composure, the words full of veiled sarcasm.

"Who... who filled their pockets? What nonsense are you spouting, child?" Feng Minghua got slightly nervous upon hearing Lin Xue ntion taking things, since she indeed took plenty, even the bread, risking getting burnt.

"Big sister-in-law, if you didn’t pocket anything, could you show what’s making your pockets bulge?" Lin Xue initially spared her dignity to maintain the family’s reputation, but now behind closed doors, everyone knew Feng Minghua’s ways, so she wasn’t worried anymore.

"Look at what? My pockets only have what I brought. So, uh, third sister-in-law, hurry up and finish eating. We’re heading back! Let’s go together!" Feng Minghua got flustered and stood up to leave in a hurry.

"Big sister-in-law, you all go ahead. We’re probably not going back, heading straight to the factory instead!" Niu Yingying ntioned.

Feng Minghua glared at her, then quickly left by herself.
