The second day quickly ca to an end, and now three key suspects had erged: Pipa, Glasses, and Catwoman.
Su Xiao had considered confronting these three to force Alice out, but this thod was not practical. There was no mutual trust among the eight participants. If Su Xiao attacked one of the three, the other two wouldn't stand idly by, and Alice could choose not to reveal her identity. To end the ga, there was only one thod: to identify Alice's doppelganger. Simply killing the doppelganger wouldn't suffice unless it was done at night; in that case, Alice couldn't appear during the next day, making it easy to question those absent during the day.
Dayti was different. If Alice's doppelganger chose to remain hidden, even if Su Xiao killed Alice in disguise, the ga wouldn't end; it would beco more complicated. If he guessed wrong, he would lose a chance to question, as everyone had only one questioning right, which deceased participants couldn't use. This was a straightforward but frustrating rule, as Alice's doppelganger also had the right to question.
Pipa, Glasses, and Catwoman would not sacrifice themselves for others' achievents, and self-sacrifice might even be counterproductive.
Therefore, killing during the day was useless and counterproductive. The only way to end the ga was to identify Alice's doppelganger; there was no other way.
Initially, Su Xiao thought this ga was similar to Werewolf, but after so understanding, he found Werewolf to be much simpler in comparison. The ga's rules were biased in favour of Alice, with no fairness. Alice would hardly show any flaws, and if the seven-ga days passed, Alice would win, which was the biggest disadvantage for the contractors.
The contractors' disadvantage was indeed significant. However, after the first night, this disadvantage disappeared because Alice attacked Su Xiao but failed to kill him, putting Alice at a disadvantage.
What Su Xiao didn't know was that Alice's action was indeed due to personal grudges—she had almost been hanged by the Shadow of Extinction in the Void.
Su Xiao knew he wasn't Alice, so the remaining suspects were Pipa, Glasses, Catwoman, Boss of National Soccer, and Second of National Soccer.
Among these five, Pipa, Glasses, and Catwoman were highly suspicious, with Pipa and Catwoman being more likely to be Alice.
Tomorrow, Su Xiao would question either Pipa or Catwoman. As for going along with others questioning him, he had no intention of doing so. If others wanted to suspect him, they were free to do so—it had nothing to do with him. Ultimately, the reason the eight participants could calmly discuss who Alice was was due to the ga rules—victory was the key.
Su Xiao waited for the nightfall in his room.
The room darkened again, and Bubuwang lazily lay on the bed, guessing that Alice wouldn't co tonight unless she decided to play passively.
In the dark corridor, a door quietly opened, and a figure erged. The figure's footsteps were silent, transforming into Alice's doppelganger shrouded in black mist as it moved forward.
Alice's doppelganger didn't hurry to choose a room; instead, it walked downstairs, sat on a sofa, and looked up at Room 18.
"I can't deal with him for now. With that existence's protection, I can't use other thods to kill him, nor can I break the ga's rules."
Alice's doppelganger sighed, dismissing the idea of attacking Su Xiao again.
"It's ti to enjoy the ga. That little girl is clever; Alice loves such players, especially their expressions when they break down."
Alice stood up and walked toward Room 1.
Su Xiao sat cross-legged in his room, listening to the sound of high heels on the floor. Suddenly, a shout was heard.
"Yayaya mite!!"
A loud shout ca from the next room, making Su Xiao open his eyes.
"Wait, what are you doing? Mmph!"
The voice from Room 1 ceased.
"Attacked? Unexpected. Alice went after her."
Alice's actions puzzled Su Xiao. Normally, she wouldn't attack the little detective. The only explanation was that Alice wasn't aiming to win; she was enjoying the ga. In this light, the detective's reasoning ability undoubtedly added to the ga's fun.
Su Xiao had thought the little detective might survive until the end, but now it seed otherwise.
After the neighbouring room went silent, the surroundings remained deathly still for two hours.
Receiving a series of prompts, Su Xiao's pupils contracted. Catwoman was dead, and Pipa, Glasses, Boss of National Soccer, and Second of National Soccer were all confined to their rooms for violating the ga's rules on the third day.
In just one night, the situation had shifted from an advantage to a significant disadvantage. Now, only Su Xiao, the little detective, and Third of National Soccer could move freely. It was surprising that the little detective survived the attack.
Third of National Soccer was too honest to be of much use in this ga, aning only Su Xiao and the little detective could identify Alice.
The situation had dramatically reversed. Alice, initially at a disadvantage, gained a significant advantage in one night. As for how Pipa, Glasses, Boss, and Second of National Soccer violated the rules, it was obvious that Alice's doppelganger was the cause.
There was so good news—the lucky player had provided so critical information.
In Su Xiao's view, the contractor's fate wasn't lucky at all. They couldn't directly participate in the ga; their survival depended on the other seven participants' performance. It was far from luck; it was misfortune.
Su Xiao stepped out of his room and encountered Third of National Soccer. Without speaking, they both went downstairs and sat on the sofa.
Only three participants could move freely, with only Su Xiao retaining the right to question. Alice's doppelganger didn't leave Su Xiao to make the ga more challenging; after the first night's confrontation, Alice's doppelganger realized she couldn't deal with Su Xiao. This was why she didn't attack him the previous night.
Su Xiao retained the questioning right not out of luck but because he was strong enough. This reminded him of the bloody words he had seen on the ceiling before: 'On the third floor, strength is the hard truth. Alice's doppelganger is not unbeatable.'
