His jaw clenched.

"In fact, he’s stronger than right now."

Kosan’s lips curled.

"Good thing you know."

He leaned forward slightly, eyes burning with dark amusent.

"Yes. I am."

Michael’s eyes narrowed.

"You read my mind?"

Michael forced a smile.

Kosan chuckled.

"Well, yes."

His dark fla pulsed.

"I have evolved."

He raised his head proudly.

"As of now, there is no human currently stronger than I am."

Kosan’s voice grew colder.

"We demons have evolved throughout the years."

"There were tis, years ago, when heroes could trounce us."

He paused, correcting himself.

"Thirty years ago, no. That’s wrong."

"Thirty-five to fifty years ago."

His gaze sharpened.

"Back then, humans could trounce monsters easily."

"And soone like you..."

Kosan smirked.

"I’m sure you would have been capable of defeating even the heroes."

Michael’s expression tightened.

"But then," Kosan continued, "our current Demon Lord ca."

"And everything changed."

His aura surged.

"Every hero sent to him, he killed every single one."

Michael’s breathing slowed.

Kosan’s voice turned proud, almost worshipful.

"His generals, he boosted their strength himself."

"And they make sure humanity never rises again."

He spread his arms.

"And now, since he sent ..."

Kosan’s grin widened.

"Can’t you see it?"

"The strength I’m capable of?"

Michael didn’t respond.

He couldn’t.

Kosan stepped forward, dark flas dragging across the ground like smoke.

"A demon like ..."

"A hero like you..."

"Soone who should be capable of defeating demons..."

Kosan’s eyes narrowed.

"You can’t defeat in this state."

He raised his hand slightly.

"This breath, this energy..."

Michael felt it.

The pressure was insane.

Kosan continued.

"It’s probably far beyond your tolerance."

Michael’s expression darkened.

Kosan’s voice lowered.

"That is why the current Demon Lord is truly powerful."

"Even ..."

His smile faded.

"I know I would die the mont I fight him."

Michael’s eyes widened.

Kosan clenched his fist.

"A holy sword can’t kill him."

"Because he is divine and demonic."

Michael’s blood ran cold.

Kosan’s eyes glead.

"His father was a fallen Archangel..."

"Who slept with the Demon Queen."

Michael’s thoughts exploded.

Damn it.

Michael tried to yank his sword back with all his strength.

But Kosan’s grip tightened.

His fingers crushed the blade.

Then,

Dark fla surged over Michael’s sword.

The tal began to lt instantly.

Michael’s eyes widened.

"What?!"

The sword was dissolving.

Like it was wax.

Michael released it imdiately, leaping backward.

The molten weapon dripped to the ground.

Kosan didn’t even flinch.

Michael landed and instantly shifted stance.

His fists rose.

His red aura wrapped around his body like armor, pulsing aggressively.

His sword was gone.

And now,

He had no choice.

Michael stared at Kosan, breathing slowly, ready to fight barehanded.

Damn it.

Looks like I’m in trouble.

Kosan moved with blinding speed.

Michael could barely follow.

Before he could react, Kosan appeared directly in front of him, claws out, aiming for his neck.

Michael ducked instinctively and swung a punch toward Kosan’s chest. His fist connected, but imdiately, pain exploded through him. Black veins of dark energy rippled across Kosan’s body, radiating imnse pressure.

Kosan didn’t even flinch.

Damn it, I don’t have a sword, Michael thought. How am I supposed to fight him with just my fists?

He swallowed hard. He’s beco sothing else, sothing far beyond what I can handle. If what I suspect is true, demons have evolved far faster than humans. The Demon Lord, once defeatable by heroes, is now on par with them. Just how strong must he be to empower his minions like this?

Before Michael could react further, Kosan’s speed slamd him into the ground.

He didn’t see it coming. The only warning was a voice in his ear.

"Stop thinking about it," Cousin shouted, grabbing Michael’s head.

The world spun violently as Kosan slamd Michael into the forest floor, rolling him deep into the earth. Trees splintered under the impact. Michael groaned but forced himself up, planting his hands into the ground to stabilize his body.

He dashed forward, fists flying.

"I will finish you!" he roared.

"Too slow," Kosan said coolly.

A fist slamd into Michael’s stomach. Blood erupted from his mouth.

But Michael didn’t stop. His aura flared brighter, wrapping his body like molten armor. He propelled himself forward, flying above the ground. Ten trees fell beneath his path as he tore through the forest with relentless speed.

What the hell, I’m flying, Michael thought, spinning in midair.

Before he could process it, Kosan appeared behind him, raised his leg, and kicked him forward. Michael twisted midair, arcing toward the ground. He landed on one hand, using it to pivot and regain his stance.

Damn it, I can’t just hold back anymore. My aura, it’s not enough. And the students, they could get caught in this if I fail.

Michael’s red aura surged higher than ever, veins glowing violently. He fixed his gaze on Kosan and charged, fists aid directly at him.

Kosan moved backward, evading easily. But Michael anticipated the dodge, swinging an elbow into Kosan’s face. Kosan staggered slightly, then Michael followed with a knee aid at Kosan’s jaw.

Kosan reacted quickly, seizing Michael by the neck midair.

"That’s still not enough," Kosan said, tightening his grip. "You’ve grown stronger, but it’s not enough. You would’ve been more useful with your sword, since you’re a Sword God."

Michael struggled, straining against Kosan’s iron grip.

With a surge of strength, he slamd a fist backward, striking Kosan’s wrist with full force. The grip loosened. Michael fell to the ground, rolling softly to absorb the impact.

Kosan didn’t hesitate. Dark flas coalesced around his hand and shot toward Michael.

Michael twisted, trying to evade, but the dark fla followed him.

Damn it, he thought. Resistance doesn’t matter. This is the first ti I’ve seen a fla like this. It actually follows .

He rembered the sword he had claid in an S-rank dungeon, a national treasure, nearly unbreakable. If this fla hits am dead, my sword was destroyed in seconds.
