Kosan’s expression hardened. "We’re here for a certain crystal. A powerful one. We’ve been monitoring its presence for so ti now."

Rowan narrowed his eyes. "What crystal?"

"We’re not sure of its exact location yet," Kosan continued. "But it should be within this sector. If it’s not in the Boys Do, then we’ll move on to the Girl Do. One way or another, we’ll find it."

"And what do you plan to do with it?" Rowan asked.

Kosan smirked. "Sorry. That’s as much as you get to know."

His tone dropped, turning murderous. "Now die."

Kosan stretched out his hand. A violent surge of fire erupted from his palm, compressed and roaring, standard demonic fla tearing through the air as it rushed straight toward Rowan.

Over twenty demonic flas surged toward him, moving like living predators. Rowan snapped his fingers, releasing a burst of intense mana. The air instantly chilled, a cold that cut through the forest. Each demonic fla was encased in a block of ice the mont it touched the aura. No matter how hot it burned, even the intense demonic fire was snuffed out, frozen and shattered into nothing. Every single fla vanished before reaching him.

Kosan stepped back, eyes widening. The kid, he’s capable of controlling both fire and ice.

Rowan’s attention shifted. Out of nowhere, a sharp kick struck him in the face. Kosan stumbled, rolling across the forest floor as he coughed violently.

"What the hell?!" Kosan spat, lifting his head, only to see Rowan’s leg swing down again. The strike slamd him into the mud, his face pressed into the wet earth.

As Kosan leaned back to recover, Rowan’s calm, relentless pace pressed him. Traps were laid around him, but none triggered. Rowan moved like he could sense every danger.

Kosan’s lips curled into a smile, his eyes glinting with defiance. "Hellfire, now!" he shouted. Flas erupted from the ground in violent, swirling torrents, scorching the forest around him.

The flas were hotter than any normal fire. The heat alone scorched the trees around them, the intense waves radiating outward as the inferno roared toward Rowan. Kosan laughed, a cruel, booming sound that echoed through the forest.

"Ha ha ha ha! After humiliating , you die a painful death. Now it’s my turn!" Kosan shouted, turning to stride back through the forest, back toward the school.

But a voice rang out sharply behind him. "Hey! Where do you think you’re going? We’re not done with our discussion!" Rowan called, his calm tone cutting through the chaos.

Kosan froze mid-step, spinning around in disbelief. "Impossible! Not even a single scratch. How?!" he muttered, his eyes narrowing as he tried to understand what had just happened.

Rowan’s eyes narrowed as he studied Kosan. There was still more he needed to know. Tell everything, and where is he? Even if Kosan didn’t want to speak, Rowan could activate his other skill to see the truth, but he preferred to get the answers directly, if possible.

He stretched both hands forward.

Kosan growled, raising his claw. "I’ll pierce you!"

"Gravity." Rowan’s calm command shattered the mont. Instantly, a crushing force slamd Kosan to the ground. His body pressed into the soil, immobile. "What? How? Let move!" Kosan struggled, but it was useless.

Rowan snapped his fingers. In an instant, he teleported to his room, his sword already in hand from the wall. Another snap, and he reappeared in the forest.

He raised his sword high, drawing a crisp star-shaped symbol in the air. Then he slashed forward.

"Now. Tell everything I need to know. Who sent you, and what is your purpose? Are you here to confirm sothing? Speak!"

Kosan’s eyes widened. "I was personally sent by Valzaha himself. He was humiliated by a child, an extraordinarily powerful mortal. And he seeks a crystal here. With it, he can beco imnsely stronger."

Rowan’s grip tightened on his sword. "Is that so? Trying to reclaim power?"

Kosan continued, sweat beading his brow. "During his fight with that mortal, his pride as a demon was shattered. His body was restored, but his pride remains wounded. He also aims to monitor Kompatu, for the demon lord’s arrival is near."

Rowan’s expression darkened. That was all I needed to know.

"Good. Now die." Rowan’s voice was cold.

He slashed his sword in a precise arc. Kosan’s head was severed, and the demon did not resist. Flas of hell erupted around him, his body convulsing as marrow and corrupted energy ignited violently. The hellish fire consud him completely, reducing Kosan to nothing but blackened ashes scattered across the forest floor.

Rowan didn’t look back. He snapped his fingers once, and in an instant, he alone returned to his room, the chaos of the forest and the ashes of Kosan left far behind.

"It’s just keep looking. What really happened? There’s sothing burning here."

"Yes, there is. Sothing has been burning for a while now," the other replied.

"What could it be?"

"I don’t know, but I’m sure."

They both scanned the forest. Charred trees and scorched earth showed the aftermath of so recent explosion.

"Didn’t you see that bright blast earlier?" one asked.

"Yes, but still, look at the damage. We’ll need to run an investigation tomorrow," the other said.

"I don’t know. We’ll figure it out," the first replied as they continued along the path.

Rowan boosted out in his room. His eyes fell on the black blood sared across his sword. He raised it and slashed, sending the remnants splashing onto the floor. It was only a little. With a sigh, he hung the sword back in its place.

"What the hell?" he muttered. "So that’s why the demon wanted the crystal. And Valzaha is about to return."

Rowan sank onto his bed, thinking back to the fight. "Our last battle wasn’t easy. At the ti, I was barely able to keep up with my strength. My body could handle him enough to win, but it was taking a toll, even though I was stronger."
