The banners of the Bernard Empire hung heavy from vaulted ceilings. At the center, the great council chamber buzzed with tension.
Emperor Alberto Bernard sat at the head of the long, obsidian table. Around him sat his highest ministers.
Foreign Affairs Minister Jas leaned forward, hands clasped. "Your Majesty… we ask you to reconsider."
Alberto didn't speak. He watched Jas with cold patience.
Jas continued. "If we declare war on so many countries at once, it will have a huge impact. Economically. Politically. Militarily."
He glanced at the table, seeking support. "We'll have to militarize the entire system. That ans shifting national focus from public developnt to full mobilization. There'll be resistance. Supply chains will collapse under the weight of constant deploynt. Multiple fronts will stretch our troops thin. And public morale—"
Alberto raised a hand.
"I've already decided."
Jas froze.
Alberto continued, voice calm. "Send the ultimatum to every neighboring country. If they don't join us—we declare war. Simple."
"But—" Jas took a breath. "We signed a trade agreent with the Aurelia Republic just three months ago. Trade is flowing. Relations are peaceful. If we send this ssage to them now, it'll all fall apart."
"Enough!"
Alberto turned to him. His gaze was like a blade.
"I did not gather this council to ask for permission. We've wasted enough ti with weak-willed diplomacy. The world is fractured. It needs a leader. This is the mont to forge a future. This is the ti to unify it."
Jas frowned. "But the Aurelia Republic—"
"A trade agreent is not an alliance," Alberto snapped. "They trade with us because we're useful. Not because they're loyal."
Pri Minister Elizabeth cleared her throat. "If I may, Your Majesty… the Aurelia Republic is a cultural powerhouse. Music, art, philosophy. A war with them could turn neutral nations against us."
Alberto nodded slightly, acknowledging her point. Then, coolly, he replied, "Only if those nations are foolish enough to resist unification. If Aurelia joins us, they beco part of sothing greater. If they oppose us, they declare their irrelevance."
He tapped a control pad embedded in the table. A holographic map surged to life, displaying the Ostra Continent in high detail.
"This continent must be unified," he said. "Aurelia and Vangal are the final pieces. Once they fall, we move to the next."
The Council's Silent Fear
The ministers exchanged uneasy looks. None dared to openly oppose the Emperor, but the tension was suffocating.
Defense Minister Thomas Banks clenched his jaw. He knew the army was strong, but war on this scale would push them to the brink.
Chancellor Thompson ntally calculated the cost—billions would be drained from the treasury.
Alberto stood, his cloak shifting like liquid shadow.
"Send the ssage to Aurelia first. They have three days to surrender."
Jas paled. "And Indiana? Malak?"
"Hmm.... First I want to know about them properly."
Then Alberto looked at Black.
Head of the Intelligence Departnt.
"Black, show us what you got"
Black raised one hand. A sharp pulse ran through the command table, and a vast hologram unfolded in the air above them. Twin maps glowed in red and blue.
Black's voice was even, filtered, and cold.
"We have compiled and analyzed the most recent strategic intelligence regarding both the Indiana Empire and the Malak Dynasty."
He tapped the console, data layers and map unfolded.
"Let's begin with the Indiana Empire," Black said.
"Geographically," Black continued, "the Indiana Empire spans approximately ninety-seven million square kiloters. By any standard, it is one of the largest sovereign territories on this world. Its climate is diverse—ranging from monsoon coasts to high deserts, from deep jungles to sacred mountain valleys. Its population is equally vast and heterogeneous, composed of hundreds of ethnic groups and cultural lineages. There is no single dominant race or belief system—faith is fragnted, but ever-present. Religion, in Indiana, is not rely spiritual—it is structural."
He tapped a control panel. The map shimred, and glowing points spread across it: temples, monasteries, spirit academies, and ancient pilgrimage routes. The images accompanying each were crisp—captured through high-resolution orbital satellites and clandestine field caras operated by embedded agents.
