"You..."

Trunk stared at Nightfla, his eyes wide with shock and disbelief. Life was slipping from his body in slow, painful pulses.

He was dying.

He was never supposed to die like this.

He had planned everything so carefully, a crazy deal that would let him live large for years, safe and rich in this cruel grey universe.

None of those bright futures waited for him now.

The only thing he saw in his final monts was Nightfla’s cold, emotionless face.

"Your fear... I will have it," Nightfla said coldly.

He reached out with his power and drank deeply from the terror pouring out of Trunk.

The fear flowed into him like warm nectar, rich and satisfying, until Trunk was completely drained, empty, hollow, and lifeless.

The mont Trunk’s body went limp, Nightfla found himself surrounded on all sides by countless guards. Weapons glead. Eyes burned with rage and fear.

"That was impressive," Scar rumbled from his throne, leaning forward with genuine curiosity. "Although I am more interested in how you bypassed the limiter."

"Oh, that?" Nightfla replied with a faint, mocking smile. "It was pretty easy. Though I’m sure your little brain wouldn’t be able to comprehend it."

"Shut up!" one of the guards snarled. "Mind the way you speak to Sir Scar, or you might as well forfeit your life right now."

Nightfla’s smile sharpened.

"Do you guys never learn from others’ misfortune?" he asked calmly.

"Threatening always ends up being a very bad idea."

The tallic bracelet on his wrist suddenly exploded into black flas. It lted away in an instant, leaving nothing but smoke and shock on every face around him.

"Kill him!" the captain of the guards barked without a second thought.

The order almost made Nightfla laugh.

He dissolved into shadow in the blink of an eye, slipping into complete stealth mode. His presence vanished from sight, sound, and even the air itself.

"Hold your positions!" the captain shouted. "He can’t have gone far!"

Smart, Nightfla thought from within the shadows.

The captain’s instructions were sharp and logical.

But against absolute power, every plan and sche beca aningless.

Nightfla materialized silently behind one of the guards.

His hands had already transford into powerful werewolf claws, long, razor-sharp, and dripping with dark energy.

He stabbed straight through the soldier’s chest, ripping the still-beating heart out in one brutal motion.

Before the guard could even scream, Nightfla lted back into the shadows.

"Stick together! Stick together!" the captain ordered, voice rising with panic. "And soone get the stealth dissolver. Now!"

One guard broke formation and tried to sprint toward the exit to fetch the device.

Nightfla reacted instantly.

He appeared at the guard’s back like a ghost and drained every last drop of blood from his body in a single, rciless instant.

The soldier collapsed like a withered husk, completely dry.

It was over in less than a heartbeat, a terrifying display of Nightfla’s skill and speed.

"My lord, we need to get out of here as soon as possible," the captain urged, stepping protectively in front of Scar.

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Scar growled, refusing to move. "Abandoning my fortress is dangerous."

"But sir, if we stay here we die!" the captain pressed desperately. "This isn’t a fight anymore. This is a hunt!"

Scar wasn’t listening. His eyes glead with savage pride.

"I’m going to deal with the bastard myself."

"Initiate program self-defense!" Scar commanded loudly.

"Sir? We can’t do that," the captain protested. "So many of the guards will die if we—"

"They will die either way," Scar snapped. "Now initiate it, and we might save a few from the already dood many."

Nightfla heard every word from the shadows, but he could not have cared less.

He was still in the middle of harvesting the soldiers’ lives and their delicious fear at the sa ti.

Killing the guards proved incredibly profitable. They were ripe with terror, acting like the perfect buffet for his growing power.

[Operation self-defense operated!]

[Please stay within the safe zone to protect your life!]

"Captain! Boss! You can’t do this to us!" one of the guards yelled, his voice cracking with raw fright and panic.

They all knew exactly what was coming. They had run through the KT drill countless tis. The mory of it made their blood run cold.

"Hmm?"

Nightfla noticed the sudden spike in fear radiating from every single one of them the mont the protocol began. It washed over him like a thick, delicious wave.

"Quite the treat, Scar," Nightfla said calmly, materializing back into physical form.

He could feel it clearly now. The only thing that could generate this much terror was sothing designed to end the guards in the most brutal way possible.

"I’m not going to lose all this fear!" Nightfla declared.

He abandoned the idea of picking them off one by one. Their fear had already reached its peak. There was no need to stimulate it any further.

Appearing fully in the open, Nightfla unleashed a full killing spree.

He called upon his undead bloodline. Dark energy swirled around him as several undead rose from the shadows, their forms twisted and nacing.

"Kill them all," he commanded.

The undead chattered in eerie understanding and surged forward without hesitation.

The guards were caught completely off guard. They desperately tried to ward off the undead while scrambling toward the safe zone where Scar and the captain stood.

But these undead were far from normal.

They moved with cold, organized precision and had no fear of death. Worse still, each one wielded hell flas that burned with unnatural hunger.

An organized force of fearless undead ard with hell flas against a group of panicking, disorganized guards, the outco was never in doubt.

The undead tore through the soldiers with terrifying ease.

No amount of resistance could stop them. The guards were completely outmatched and swiftly defeated.

Nightfla watched the entire massacre with perfect calmness. He fed greedily on the fear that poured out of every dying guard, savoring each delicious drop.
