Max spoke with a bitter look on his face.

Welner looked confused. Max would not have looked uncomfortable if the person had rely co to see him. Moreover, if that person were a mber of an association or an influential person in the city, he would have gone to Earl Harfolk.
If it was a rchant with a strong business spirit, Max would not have bothered to bring it up to Welner, which ant… Welner nodded as if he understood. He realized that there was one person whose position far exceeded his that might do this.

Max exited the room and soon brought two people into the room, causing Welner’s internal discomfort gauge to spike as he realized the reason for the uncomfortable expression on Max’s face. He called out to the two, trying not to let his displeasure show.

Gid looked at his companion. The girl, who remained slumped, took a step forward. She was probably younger than Welner in age.
“Her na is Annika, my daughter, and I was wondering if you would be willing to let her serve at Viscount Zeavert’s side.” (Gid)
