Kael was sitting on his throne, he looked bored, being King wasn’t what he expected, he thought of people holding parades every day, but what he got was a lot of bureaucratic work, as well as matters relating to the nobles.

When he took over, he considered several nobles to be traitors to the nation, the penalty for which is death for up to the third generation of their family. A rather harsh penalty, but it was necessary to maintain order.

So nobles really were traitors and sided with his brother while planning attacks to seize land in nearby countries.

But others were just nobles that Kael didn’t like, or who had done sothing that could be solved by confiscating so property and withdrawing the title of nobility, but Kael feared that these nobles would revolt and sohow attack him.

On the other hand, the nobles who sided with him, or who remained neutral and then accepted him as King, received a greater title, or pieces of land. So people beca nobles because of so help. Kaly was one of these people, but she had to refuse because Drakonia’s law does not allow any noble to hold a title from another country, such an act would be considered treason and would carry the death penalty. But this rule only applies to titles from other countries. So dragons held more than one title due to inheritance or simply so conquests.

These reforms in the nobility changed the view that so other nobles had of Kael, but the view was not negative, the nobles saw that the effort paid off. But Kaly wanted a title for Darius, he could have the sa as hers if the two of them married, but she wanted one exclusively for him.

As Kael sat there, he heard a noise coming from the garden, the sound loud enough for him to hear in the throne room.

A carriage appeared, it was luxurious and seed to be made of gold and platinum. Indeed they were, but only a thin part, the rest was made of wood.

Out of it ca a woman with a staff, she carried a large crown on her head. Then a tall, overweight man ca out, he didn’t have a right arm, instead he had a gold prosthesis and it moved like a real arm. He also had a crown. Both were the rulers of Solsticea, Aert, and Arcan Solsticea.

In addition to them, there were so knights who looked after their safety.

They both knew about the attack that would take place in a few days, so they asked for asylum in Velmont and moved part of the population to a more remote part, so that they could take care of the safety of so people. Unfortunately, not everyone could be saved, they knew that, so they did everything they could.

The three of them were drinking tea and chatting.

"I want to et the alchemist who makes those potions, not even real alchemists can make potions with the level of purity that he can. Not even at the price he charges. You have to let us know what his secret is."

"To be honest, even I don’t know. He’s a very special child and a bit complicated. He has a lot of ideas that make many people end up hating him. Like the pricing policy he puts on what he sells, many shopkeepers hate him because of how much he can sell their products for. But other people love him."

"A child?" The Queen couldn’t believe it even when Kael confird it.

"I need to et him urgently and send him to defend Solsticea," the King was a collector of talent, whenever he saw soone interesting he tried to recruit them. But in this case he wouldn’t succeed.

"I don’t think he would accept, nor would his parents. Rember that he’s just a child with talents, but I think he’d be a person who wouldn’t agree to obey you. In fact, I don’t think even I could get his loyalty, at least from what his older brother said."

The conversation about Darius continued for so ti. Then an important subject ca up, which was solving the problems that the attack would cause, since Solsticea wouldn’t be the only Kingdom to be attacked, the other rulers were organizing a way to try to recover the country before the attack, because defending it was out of the question, the losses would be much greater. They didn’t know anything about the enemies, they only had reports and a few books telling of the first Demon Lord’s arrival.

In an age of chaos, a demon child is born, endowed with great magical power and one day ruling the world. This is the only information that ntions the power that the Demon Lord can have. The other information only ntions his army and how strong his forces are and how they can dominate countries.

The Queen was tired, she had spent a lot of mana teleporting with the carriage, she wanted to rest. So Kael accompanied her. Arcan was a little jealous, but he didn’t show it.

"I hope you enjoy your stay, even if it’s not a happy ti," he said as he saluted.

Kael’s relationship with the rulers was one of friendship, which is why they both preferred Velmont. Unlike Julius, the forr King, was hated by almost all the other countries, all because of his expansionist policy that remained even in tis of crisis. Although so consider Kael a usurper of the throne, these people still see him as better than his brother.

Kael’s relationship is one of friendship and he tries to find a way to help each other, where he can show that he only wants peace and thus improve Velmont’s image, not his own.

The castle was bustling, many people were walking around, so were nobles who lived in the castle, and others were employees who were doing their jobs.

The bustle had a reason, a eting that would take place in a few days, they would be visited by all the rulers of the continent and perhaps so from other continents.

Darius stared at Carl, his mind already racing with all the problems this man would bring. Darius knew that this man would embarrass him, but perhaps that would be good for him since he would have witnesses watching Carl accuse him.

And just like that, Carl began to make a fuss about how his position had been usurped for no reason and that Darius had broken in and attacked his employees and stolen all his money.

"So even a child can break into your mansion?" Soone in the queue asked.

"If he managed to break into your house, it would be better to keep quiet about it, because real thieves might try to break in and steal for real."

"Who’s that idiot shouting?"

This question made the Baron very angry, but he kept talking until Darius began to feel sorry for him. Darius reached into his coin purse and took out two copper coins and handed them to him.

"I hope that ans you’ll at least have sothing to eat."

It sounded a bit rude, but it was funny at the sa ti.

"Will that potion from the Adventurers’ Guild cure this man’s madness?"

The Baron began to get angrier, until he approached Darius and punched him. Darius let the man hit him, because he wanted to have people see the Baron’s behavior.

But it turned out worse than planned, the man wouldn’t stop hitting him, not even when he was lying on the ground. There were so many punches that Darius fainted from the pain, he didn’t want to defend himself at any point and that was his big mistake.

The people in the queue started calling for the guards, then two strong n started beating the Baron, and then soone tied the Baron to a lamppost.

The people in the queue didn’t like Darius, but they hated the Baron even more.

After a few minutes the guards showed up and took Darius to a military facility, there he received dical attention and learned that the Baron had been arrested, so it was easier for Lucian to get the Baron removed from the list of registered rchants and surely that was the end of that man.

Darius was happy in a way because the Baron had started it, but he wanted a less tragic end for the man. With the Baron in prison, he could lose his title, depending on how he was judged by the ministers and the King.

Kaly was watching Darius being attacked, but she was ordered not to intervene and was in charge of paying for the loaves, as having the people in that queue as enemies was sothing Darius wanted to avoid.

Darius was managing to help the rchants he had hard, as well as reducing the village’s stock of wheat, which was gradually being reduced and perhaps the new harvest would already be sold.

But it was still just a form of speculation, as it was still unclear whether his idea would continue to work for much longer. Nor whether the vendors would eventually tire of just making bread.

It wasn’t that they couldn’t sell food, they were just selling less of it and that had an impact since they were small vendors and any less was a loss.
