Klaus was surprised when Roach thought he was part of the Morning Star. He didn't have ti to ask because Roach told his n to attack him.
And now, he discovered that the arcana he had looted from the Black Bulls had links to Morning Star. Even a guild as big as theirs attacked a group of thugs. It made Klaus wonder to himself.
"Is it just because you sold the stolen arcana that they attacked you?" Klaus asked. "Honestly, this makes a little curious. A Morning Star's caliber guild would want to deal with a small group of criminals."
Roach hissed. "That's very rude of you to say. But indeed, our group is small compared to theirs." The bald man lit a cigarette. The tip glowed as he smoked it. "Instead of attacking, it might be more appropriate for them to teach us a lesson."
Naturally, Klaus frowned in curiosity.
"Morning Star, it's an empire."
After saying so, the bald man began chatting about New York's number one guild.
Before it was an organization that gathered quality awakeners and companies that created companies, Morning Star was a criminal network.
Morning Star ruled the underworld on Queen. Every gang in the borough worked for Vincent Thomsen. They monopolize illegal transactions such as drugs, stolen arcana, and unlicensed weapons. It was where they made their actual wealth.
The governnt had wanted them for a long ti. However, the FBI found no evidence of their involvent in illegal activities. Morning Star has made a na for itself in New York. The governnt couldn't just take them down, or they'll only spark a public outcry.
It was common knowledge among the criminal underworld that Morning Star was a dangerous syndicate. With a wide network and strong roots, Morning Star controls criminal organizations.
Black Bulls was one of the syndicates working for Morning Star.
After news of this gang's overnight destruction spread and their stolen arcana disappeared, it naturally angered the leader of Morning Star, Vincent. He ordered all the gangs and mobsters in Queens to track down his missing items.
And they managed to track it to the Bronx. Morning Star still didn't know who stole their arcana, but they were waging war on every criminal group in this borough.
"Sotis, Morning Star send their n to co here. Luckily, they're just idiots; and my n can finish them off."
Roach leaned back in his chair, blowing cigarette smoke from his mouth.
After hearing the long story from Roach, Klaus was lost in thought. All this ti, he had been too focused on his guild and company, avoiding disputes as much as possible so they could grow rapidly.
He was sure that his plans could go faster if Rays of Hope beca big and Mors Industries successfully dominated the market. However, he overlooked the critical factor that there was a group of people who could hinder him.
"I underestimated so much that I missed this important information," Klaus thought. He sighed. It was hard for him not to see people as insects.
After returning from this place, Klaus would dig up information about Morning Star.
"I understand your problem. I apologize if I caused you this ss. But I have to go. There's a lot of work waiting for . Good luck."
As Klaus zipped up the bag, Roach put his hand on it. Naturally, Klaus raised an eyebrow.
"I believe our problem is solved," Klaus said coldly.
The bald man looked at him. "Mr. Morgan. I need your help."
Klaus snorted. "You've been holding my secretary for the past two days. And I'm sure you've profited from the sale of my goods. I have no reason to help you. "
"Yeah, Sheila's been a big help to us. But we need your help. You can still manipulate tal even in the [Magnetic Field]. That was amazing." Roach paused for a mont. He pursed his lips. There was sothing he wanted to express but was stuck in his chest. "Lend your power."
"Nah, sorry. And thank you for your complints. But I will need more than one or two complints to make willing to join your gang battle."
Roach opened his eyes wide. Then, the man chuckled. "Sorry, but you misunderstand, Mr. Morgan. We're strong enough to deal with those bastards. Morning Star won't dare to intervene directly. They will only send their small fries."
Klaus beca curious about what favors the bald man was asking for.
"What favor do you need from ?" Klaus asked.
A big smile appeared on Roach's face. "I want to help us to hunt a monster."
Suddenly, Klaus recalled Emma's story about the vampire roaming the Bronx, kidnapping won and children at nightfall.
"You want to hunt down a Vampire that roams the Bronx."
Roach snapped his fingers. "That's right. I'm glad you know that."
Klaus scratched his temple. There was no reason for a group of criminals to hunt vampires. They had nothing to gain from hunting those night creatures.
"I bet you are not a charity organization that likes to help people. Let the Awakener Association catch them."
"Nah," Roach shook his head. "We're businessn. We can't just sit back when there's a valuable commodity in front of our eyes."
Klaus frowned. "Business?"
"It's a little hard to explain. You'd better see it in person."
The bald man stood up and asked Klaus to follow him. They left the office, heading for a door with two guards. Roach led the way, leading Klaus into a long hallway.
It was quiet. Light bulbs hung from the ceiling along the hallway. There was no sound other than their footsteps.
As Klaus reached the door at the end of the hallway, he heard a faint sound.
"There's a sound from behind the door. Moaning... no, but snoring. What's inside?" asked Klaus.
Roach smirked. "You're about to find out."
The hinges creaked as the door opened. As Klaus stepped into the room, he slled the stench of urine. And then, his eyes opened wide. He saw dozens of monsters of various races locked in cages. They were asleep in chains.
Roach spread his hands in front of Klaus.
"This is our main business. We sell monsters."
